The clown of the family is coincidentally also the clumsy pot of the house… since young. She had broken far too many things. This year alone, she had broken both her sisters’ mugs, grandma’s teapot cover and a few nights ago, she finally broke my favorite mug cover from Ikea. When I saw the mug cover on the dining table, I had a hunch that she would break it and before I could even keep it, her elbow knocked the ceramic mug cover off the table and CRACK it went into a hundred sharp tiny pieces! *SOBS* That was the cover for my favorite coffee and tea mug. I knew it would not live long enough for me to make my next trip to Ikea.
In the Chinese school that my girls go to, if the kid does something wrong, she/he gets punished by way of being caned. At home, I don’t like to use the whip unnecessarily. Since she broke the mug cover, she had to settle the mess. Instead of hitting the sack by 9pm, she had to sweep away the broken ceramic pieces so that I can mop the entire dining area again… you know those tiny ceramic fragments can fly a few meters away from the accident scene and I’d stepped onto them many times in the past.
When will you ever, ever learn to be more wary of what’s going on, what’s in your surrounding and be more careful my dear? SIGH!!

Haha, this fashion-show baby broke another thing again? From the time I stalked your blog until today, I read ump-teenth times already that she breaks this and that, haha.
Oh why don’t you vacumn the pieces? After she sweeps, then vacumn another round lor, safer.
Louiz Yee, I dont like to use the vacuum. Very lech leh, gotta dig it out fr the store room. Maybe next time, I’ll use the vacuum like u suggest. Well I hope that there’ll be no more breaking of stuff in future! 🙂
Ya, I’ll use the vacuum cleaner too, just to be on the safe side.
I hear ya about punishment in Chinese schools grrrrr
