There is a big toyogo box in the storeroom which I have been keeping Sherilyn’s unused XXL diapers ever since she stopped wearing diapers to sleep at night over a year ago. The other day, I decided to use them on Baby but upon taking a closer look, I saw yellowish brownish stains all over the diapers…. not on 1 or 2 pieces but on all the diapers! Not wanting to take any chances of Baby getting a UTI attack from the possibly fungus on the diapers, I threw all the unused diapers into the bin… with a heavy heart. Those XXL diapers cost over RM1 each and I threw over 30 of them!!!
Luckily the XXL pull-up pants still looked white and nice and I let Baby use them immediately, though the diaper is oversized on her (the waist band is almost reaching her chest LOL!!!).
Check out those brownish stains. Would you let your child wear stained unused diapers?

I won’t! I am a clean freak.. 😛 that reminds me i have 1 pack of XL sitting in my storage….. Was the diapers’ package opened? or totally unopened when u stored in TOYOGO box??
Lyn, yup it was opened. My neat freak hubby opened the packet to store them into the toyogo box. Me? I will always keep my diapers in the plastic bag and clip the bag tight.
no way.. they may catch a fungal infection. children with candida like mine, should always avoid mouldy food and such, let alone diaper. i can imagine the bacteria n germs going up u know where.. eee.. throw away asap.
Even if you keep clothes in those boxes, you still see the same yellowish stains on them… so best is if its not being used, keep them air tight.
I have never experienced this before as I only buy sekadar cukup when I know my child may be 100% potty trained soon. Just a thought, how about if use the nappy liner to lapik those browned area and the child wears the diaper? Has anyone tried that before?
You did it right.
LOL, I normally use it to do experiment with my kids(those free newborn diapers), the gel inside is actually inflammable, interesting hor?!!
Quite bad huh!! Write to the company and lodge a complaint.
Oh…very bad condition..better throw them away…
Wonder if they stains are mould?? Weather there is so humid, so wouldn’t surprise me! No way anyone should put their kid at risk. Mould also comes with spores that can be airborne and cause a LOT of problems.
This reminds me of the sales girl who told me that if the plastic bag is sealed, can keep the diapers for about 2yr+. So, now I know that after we opened the plastic bag, diapers cannot be kept that long de +_+ Better throw away those stained diapers. If use it, the medical fee to cure the fungus infection down there might even cost more than the stained diapers.
A big NO NO. Once the urine soaked on the diaper, chemical will be released. U did the right thing. Heartache but health is more important ya.
hi, visit ur blog.. 🙂
i would do the same thing, just throw away!!
Oh, what a shame! Any idea how old they are? At least you’ll know what the shelf life is for those things……
No No No, I would throw it away too..
Same here – I had to chuck off a whole pack of the boy’s old disposables too. Thought I could use them on the girl but was horrified to see the brown stains on them.
I know I wouldn’t wear pads with stains on them so I’d definitely not give them to kids!
Hi freakmummy, you reminded me of my elder sis warning. I didn’t believe pampers would contaminate until I saw the photos. Yes, you are right, better throw away. No wonder my sis keep reminding me to seal the un-use pampers tight tight.
shireen, dont take the risk on baby C. Those are really bad chemical and since she had UTI last time, I would suggest you throw them away.
