Today is the day that I’ve been dreading since we brought Haru home when she was just a 7-week old baby kitten. We are so not looking forward to it, yet we know that spaying Haru will be better for her and for us.
I got up at 4.30 am today to feed Haru her last meal before the surgery at 12+ noon. I gave her a quarter packet of kitten tuna mixed with some water. This is all she is allowed to eat. She kept looking for more food from the trash can and we had to close the kitchen door to prevent her from going inside to forage for food 😹.
Sherilyn and Cass have been playing with Haru and cuddling her lots since yesterday. Like me, they also have a fear that the surgery may go awry and we may never see Haru again.
One more hour to go and we’ll leave for the vet’s clinic. Do wait for my updates on Haru’s spay surgery! And if you could, say a little pray for our Haru. Thank you 🙏

I will pray for a quick recovery for Haru. Was going to suggest that while she is a bit dopey postop, might be a good time to clip her front nails.😻
Hi Chris
The post-op was bad. Haru was extremely aggressive. She didn’t like the post-op onesie that we put on her. She tried to jump out from a box that we placed her in and while catching her, Haru bit hard on Cassandra’s right hand. The hole was deep. Her entire hand is swollen and she couldn’t sleep last night. She ran a slight temp this a.m. and I brought her straight to the clinic. The dr did a wound irrigation on her and now Cass is on the same meds as Haru, i.e. antibiotics and anti-inflammation 🙁
Haru is still out of sorts, no mood for anything, threw up twice and just only ate a few tiny kibbles. Praying hard that she wont throw up again. We cant wait for Haru to be her playful, cheeky and happy self again.
