Cassandra’s Terrible Twos

Screaming, yelling, resisting instructions, throwing herself on the floor when her whims and fancies are not met, choosing her own clothes, the list goes on…. I have gone through these Terrible Twos with my 2 older girls and am still battling the Terrible Fives with #2 and at the same time, battling Baby’s Terrible Twos now. My 2 younger girls are certainly a handful but no complaints. Each time the frustration and regrets creep out of me, I remind myself what I had gone through 8 years ago…. those days were filled with emptiness and frustrations of trying to conceive.

Anyway, back to Baby. She turned 2.5 years old 2 days ago. Her speech is in an explosive mode and she talks like a 4yo girl. She loves saying things like “oh no not again” when she’s served the same food or drinks…. “Oh my God!!” to exclaim surprise…. “I hate you!” when she fights with her jie jies … “mummy, look at cheh cheh…” (to report the naughty things that her cheh chehs do) and she can sing very well. She loves watching Ultraman with her 2 jie jies and can even sing the entire Ultraman jingle in Japanese, loves watching ‘Geng Bas Sekolah’ and ‘Belalang’ from Astro Ria with her jie jies and behaves like her 2 jie jies too.  And oh yes, each time she watches ‘Belalang’ (an epic on those olden days Malays who live in the kampung), she would tell me this “I want to live in the kampung” *slap forehead*  She tells me all the time that she loves going to school and learning ballet. I think she will have no problems if she goes to pre-school next year when she turns 3yo in April.

Cassandra is just another vain pot like #2, thank God! I was actually worried that she would turn out to be frumpy and doesn’t like dressing up haha!

  1. Hahaha…tell me about me..Ryan is in his terrible twos now..2 years and 5 months…and this guy can really throw a tantrum when he wants to…and being a boy, he is into ultraman, ben 10, transformers (can’t even remember how many times I have watched both movies with him) and guess what …Mr Bean …

  2. I also got a terrible two phase at home, those whining and rolling on the floor tactics, are those instincts??

Cassandra will grow up as vain as jie jie no 2 ….

  3. she’s developing very well there! and very pretty too. so you have one less little girl to dress up, like Sherilyn jiejie, Cassie can dress up on her own! 🙂

  4. My earlier comment probably didn’t go thru… just wanted to say how much bbC has grown, no longer a baby, and she’s totally gorgeous. Very matured for her age, from the words she says. May God bless her with good health too!

  5. oh yes, tell me about Terrible Twos!!! Elyssa is going thru that and it’s definitely a test of patience!

Baby C looks so girly girly and pretty in the photo 🙂

  6. I believe most kids are pretty active nowadays and I am battling with terrible three’s now with my son….sometimes I was like going to explode when he really gets naughty and demand this and that for no reason.

Did your girls watch Backkom Sports also aired at astro ceria? That is my son’s favourite cartoon now…everyday asked for this backkom shows and I have to recorded it everymorning mon-friday.

  7. you know, I had always and still do think that baby C is very very lovely and sweet (not that the other 2 jie jies are not ya.. they are too)… and would one day like to give her a big hug! to have gone thru what she had and turn out such a fine and active kid, my heart goes out to her… 🙂

  8. To a certain extent, Shan Rae & Cassandra are very much alike! Well, except for the going to school part. Shan Rae doesnt wants to go to school!

  9. Hi. My friend recommended this blog of yours recently and I have been following it. Thanks for sharing all your stories. I am also facing the Terrible 2s now. My angel is really testing my patience. She also scream, yell, whims…the list will go on and on. When will all this end I wonder….

  10. LOL, my son is also like that now (he’s 2 yrs 5 mths old) – don’t let him have something, he will cry and fret and can even scold back some gibberish words with his fingers pointing angrily at me! *Eyes big already!*

About your daughter being a vain pot, I think you should heave a sigh of relief becos it means she’s growing up normally as a girl. 😀
