More CNY Snacks

On Saturday, we bought more CNY cookies and snacks from our neighborhood road-side stall vendors:

Deep fried arrowroot chips (RM13), ‘bee hives’ (RM18, this is by far the best ‘bee hives’ biscuitĀ I’ve ever tasted. It’s light, not oily at allĀ and not too sweet), peanut-sesame seed candies (RM12), roasted almonds in shell (RM18).Ā Ā  This morning when I went to the road-side vegetarian stall to help my friend buy some cookies, I bought a canister of almond cookies (RM22). Gosh, the almond cookies taste SO SO good, every bite is almond bits!! I’ve whacked almost a quarter of theĀ almond cookies all by myself just now over breakfast!Ā

Oh yes, on Sunday we were out almost theĀ whole day.Ā  SinceĀ I did not have much time toĀ whip up hot pipingĀ dishes for dinner, I reheated some pork jerky (yoke kon) which I had kept in the fridge (hubs bought them a week ago).Ā  My gals hadĀ hot pork jerky, fried eggs and homecooked ‘loh hon cai’ (vegetarian)Ā for dinner.Ā  They loved it so much!Ā  Not a nutritionally sound meal (pork jerkies are terribly sweet), but taste damn good šŸ˜‰

By the time it’s CNY, which is in 2 weeks’, I think my tummy will churn and turn justĀ by looking at the CNY cookies, meat jerkyĀ and snacksĀ hahahahahah!!

  1. hey, where you bought those biscuits huh? I plan to find a good one but don’t know where to get. those biscuits seems tasty as you mentioned. hehe
now, i only have Arrow heads (from home town) and pineapple tarts from Ikea.

  2. Barb… Wow, Rm10 a canister is really cheap. I’ve not seen such cheap ngar koos here. Your area meaning OUG market?

Ilewelynn…I bought these from my neighborhood in KL.

Vicky and Agnes… that’s why you gotta exercise lor, hehe…

  3. My MIL bought those nga-ku chips for rm10 too (PJ area). I think this price is pretty standard as it’s not that expensive now compared to last time. I LOVE the beehives too! I guess this once-a-year indulgence is ok as long as we burn it off fast enough haha šŸ™‚

  4. I can almost taste the cookies! Sadly, not much available here. Last year when I was in Aust, they had “imported” goodies from Msia for the “same” price but in AUD!! Alamak!
