When I wrote in my previous posts that Sherilyn drops her food and spills drinks every single day at every single meal, I really wasn’t joking. Just 2 days ago, she was fussing during dinner, went up and down her chair, refused to eat her meals and then I heard a loud bang on the floor. I was in the bathroom bathing Baby C. At once I knew what had happened. I didn’t even have to see what happened and who did it. I knew Sherilyn had dropped her plate of food on the floor. Seconds later, Sherilyn ran to me and put on a real pathetic face and said apologetically earnestly “mummy, I can clean up!”. I gave her a killer stare and reprimanded her. I just knew that she would create more mess if I were to allow her to clean up the mess. I was enraged, I really wanted to whack her coz she is dropping food and spilling drinks far too often….. but when I heard her saying those words to me apologetically, my heart moved a little.
The reason why this brat keeps dropping her food and drinks is because she moves too much during meal times. No amount of threats and bribes would make her sit still and finish her meals quickly. Aiyoh…..tell me, what am I to do with this brat? I’ve tried threatening her by locking her in the bathroom once for a few seconds…. which made her bawl but as soon as she came out of the bathroom, there she went again, gallivanting round the house and refused to sit still to finish her dinner.
The steamed egg with minced pork and spinach on the floor…

Try rewarding her if she does not spill food. Reward her with one star a day. If she collect 10, she can get a gift.
Hope she out grown of the clumsy soon…well, just be glad of it at least she still eat…
i tot most children r like dat? they will never sit still. my samuel oso run up n down n sometimes refuse to eat by himself need to be fed n takes an hour
Michelle… the reward thingy doesn’t work on my stubborn brat wan 🙁 The cane does :S
Alicia… Oh no! Alycia is totally different… she’s such a good feeder and hardly ever drops food or spills drinks from young.
It’s just her hyperactive nature I suppose. My hubby alwiz advised me nt to make comparison among the kids. Each of them is different & have good & bad traits. Well, I believ Sherilyn will outgrwn this habit sometime. All adults have had their “mommy’s unfavourable behaviour” once , right?
Have u tried letting her watch some TV programs/ her favorite DVD during her meal time? Perhaps this way she cld sit still.
Yeah, same with my lil one. Can’t sit still. At least at almost 2 yrs now, he can understand when we are angry at him but he wont oblige …just continue to run & throw things all around. I certainly hope it is indeed the terrible 2 stage.
I have this problem with Chloe too. I’ll on her favourites cartoons but sometime she will stare on TV and store the food in her mouth. *headache*
Sigh…I feel your pain. I honestly do.
My No.2 is like that too. Just can’t keep still. Already 3 1/2 years old..still, such a monkey. I threw him out before. Out of the house. Many times. And yet…still the same. I’ve been waiting for him to outgrow it. WHEN????
haha…sher reminds me of Nicole…equally clumsy heehee…they are so cute crawling like spiders…:)
It was an accident or she purposely drop the plate so that she dont have to finish eating her meal????
hmm maybe u need to bento your food????
i’ll blog about mine soon. at least sherilyn is 3/4 yrs old. mine only 16 mo n i m having meal time war..
I do understand you… sigh.. how about getting those plates which can be vacuum stuck to the table so she won’t accidentally knock it off.
Oklah….Sherilyn has CHARACTER!!! She’ll eventually grow out of it.
At least she’s guilty abt it. hehehe
she looks so pitiful in the last picture!
i guess the only way is to make sure she sit still while eating.
