That’s a picture of the dry and peeling skin on my belly and waist. Though I’ve been applying copious amounts of baby oil on my body twice a day after my shower, this however does not seem to hydrate and moisturize my skin. I wonder what’s wrong with my skin. I had forgotten to ask my gynae when I saw him last week. Whenever Sherilyn sees the dry and peeling skin on my arms and belly, she always gives me a hand in peeling off the skin!

Oh dear… it looks bad huh… You better check with your gynea… maybe it is because of the pregnancy? Take care!
have you tried using cocoa butter lotion? they say its good for pregnant women to avoid stretch marks. you can also try using shea butter from body shop, it’s really good.
By the way, Guardian and Watson’s are having sales on Bio-Oil at the moment (60ml for RM32.88 – IMHO, it’s a bit pricey). I’ve just purchased a bottle and is currently applying it on my son’s legs as a means of reducing all his childhood scars (as a result of having knocks and scratches here and there).
Paik Ling…. to get the rice water, just cook some diluted porridge, i.e. add more water to make the porridge watery. Add a little salt coz salt rehydrates the body after a bout of diarrhea and vomitting.
I think it is hormonal changes….do try out BodyShop, there is one moisturiser lotion, which is really effective and good in moisture this kind of skin…..not sure, ok for preggie lady or not…better check with ur gynae first.

Greetings from Kuantan!
hope this is only temporary due to hormone change.
As long it is not itchy, then shouldnt be so bad..
Girlie… I’ve tried using cocoa butter but does not seem to help.
Evelyn… thanks for the info. I shall get a bottle to try.
Barb, Hui Sia and Chin Nee…it’s itchy and there are red dry patches on my belly area too 🙁
Thanks for the tip re: rice water. How do I get this? I’ve only seen this in hospitals.
