Here is another stunt and quirkiness of Sherilyn’s…. reading while lying belly down on my fit ball *rolls eyeballs*

And looks like #3 will one day follow suit her mischievous ji jie’s antics coz at 15 months now, she is already displaying many of Sherilyn jie jie’s traits…. fierce, active, loves climbing, will throw herself on the floor and pretend to cry if we forbade her to do something, etc.

Notice the TV console door lying on the floor?  No need to ask who broke it AGAIN…. #2 of course.  It had been broken many times by her but now the door hinge cracked and is irreparable…. and daddy has to buy a new TV console soon.

This is Sherilyn’s dinner consisting of brown rice, pan-fried salmon fish, steamed egg with minced pork and stir-fried veggie, all cut up, along with a bowl of watercress soup. My mil normally prepares her bowl/plate of dinner, then feeds her *slap forehead*

This plate of dinner went into the bin coz after feeding Sherilyn just 1 spoonful, she stored the food in her mouth for almost an hour…. which really pissed my mil off and she sent Sherilyn off the dining table and told her not to eat anymore… and no milk for her later in the night. But that was music to Sher’s ears. She zoomed to the bathroom on the pretext of peeing and when we heard the sound of the toilet being flushed, we knew what this fler was up to…. coz she hardly flushes the toilet after her business. We saw bits of food and veggie floating in the toilet bowl haha…. she’s not quick enough to second flush to eliminate all traces of the food hah! See how cunning this fler is! Why lar Sherilyn is eating rice such a torture to you?

I told ya #2 is really very kwai mar and full of koo leng jeng kwai. Everyday, she comes up with a new quirk, peppered with lots of temper tantrums and whining. Here’s one of her new quirks :

Doing her homework under the table!  Kaik sei lei or not you say?  Tell her to get up?  Nope she won’t listen.  Yell at her?  Oh, that will cause my head to explode and blood pressure to shoot sky high.  Cane her?  I am tired of that, really.  So I just let her be unless she’s up to something that will endanger her own life or that of someone else’s!  Talk about the middle child syndrome.  I have one at home with all the quintessential traits!

I told ya Sherilyn is full of cheeky and quirky ideas, very kwai mar and koo leng jeng kwai.  Mil cooked porridge last Sunday but this fler who doesn’t like porridge or rice found it a torture to swallow the porridge. I was trying to coax her to eat the porridge without using force, threat and the cane. Who likes to associate eating with these punishments, right? I asked her if she’d like to sprinkle some of her favorite Japanese seaweed onto her porridge but she said no.  Instead, this fler went to the fridge and fetched the packet of Parmesan grated cheese and sprinkled them on her porridge, eeewwww, what a horrible combination!  East meets West in an appalling fashion lol!    She insisted on sprinkling the cheese on her own and I let her have it her way.  When she was done, I put the packet of Parmesan cheese back into the fridge but wait…

… this fler fetched the packet of cheese from the fridge again and sprinkled them on the stir-fried red spinach…..

How novel was her creation hor?  At least this cili padi can think out of the box to make her meal more appealing though it was rather appalling, muahahahah….

But nope, she didn’t eat her food either but was sitting on the chair daydreaming, brought out her color pencils and coloring book and insisted that my maid fed her but I told my maid not to feed her. It was then that Alycia jie jie came to her rescue and fed her, haiyo……. so mah fun this fler.

Why are you so mischievous and so naughty my little girl? You used to be so docile and listened to mummy all the time when you were little but as you grow bigger, you are also growing more and more willful.

Over the past 1 week, you did many things that made me blew my top. First you put so much water into mummy’s bottle of Dettol liquid hand soap that the entire bottle of soap became so diluted it could not be used anymore! Next, you spilled your cup of juice onto the cushion despite mummy warning you infiniti times to be careful with your cup of juice.   The other day, you spoilt the Magna Doodle and baby could no longer doodle on it.  Daddy has to buy a new Doodle now.  And yesterday evening, you took the pair of scissors (which mummy had left in the bathroom after trimming Baby’s fringe ) and cut your hair yourself.   You wanted to hide your mischievous act from mummy but the evidence was so obvious – there was hair everywhere on the sink, the counter and on the floor! Each day, you would cut papers (I wonder how you can still find the scissors that I hid) into bits and pieces and strew them all over the floor… to cut out into animals and what nots.

There are more mischievous acts that you do every single day that will surely make  mummy go nuts and drive mummy to the madhouse but mummy does not want to keep harping on them. Dear Sherilyn, mummy has been praying that you’ll be obedient and not so naughty. Can you pretty please be a good girl?

Sherilyn enjoying all the limelight at the magic show yesterday. Guess what she’s doing here? She was actually grinning away and posing for daddy to snap her picture.  Check out her prim-and-proper hands clasped together for the cameraman, haha!   She was so engrossed grinning and posing that the clown had to keep tapping her shoulder to draw her attention back…. and everyone laughed at this cheeky girl, muahahaha!

… got punished by mah mah yesterday. Despite infiniti warnings from us, Miss Fearless and itchy-fingers scribbled on the wall. And so she got her penance…..

Mah mah made her clean up the stains on the wall with a sponge… but I think this would not deter Miss Fearless from repeating her mischief coz she was actually having a time of her life scrubbing the wall (as if it were some kind of abstract artwork!) and she kept washing the sponge and scrubbing the wall… and wet the floor *rolls eyeballs* .  In the end there was more work and kakak had to mop the floor and clean up her so chau see (aftermath)!

Sher is doing her pre-school homework here but as usual, she must move her body and fidget every single part of her body… coz that’s Sherilyn!  I can never ever get her to sit still for just about anything (except when she’s seated right in front of the telly) and she is just so so so so mischievous and fearless.

Yesterday, we received yet another complaint from her teacher, who complaint that she kept scribbling on her workbooks… again… despite being reprimanded by me and by her teachers countless times!  

It’s also very, very stressful and difficult for my mil and me to get her to pay attention whenever we coach her in her homework. Her mind and eyes would always wander far away and we would have to repeat everything that we had said like 10-20 times. Angry or not you say? Would your blood boil too? After each homework coaching session, I would need a shower as I would be soaking in my own sweat. In between coaching Sher, I also have Alycia to coach and a hyperactive 14-mo toddler who is cruising and crawling everywhere to watch closely at.  And at times when I wasn’t looking, she would put broken pencil lead, pencil sharpener dirt,  eraser dirt that her 2 jie jies threw on the floor or other dirt and food crumbs she picked up from the floor into her mouth! This often gives me a heart attack and would send me yelling away like a mad woman.

This afternoon, I blew my top and caned Sher when she just wouldn’t pay attention despite me explaining her work to her. I was holding her hand and showing her the correct order of writing Chinese characters but this fler’s eyes were wandering somewhere else. Each time I asked her to write on her own, she would write nonsense. She also drew heart shapes and flowers all over her Mandarin exercise book! Really kek sei ngor! I also threatened her that she will have no access to all her favorite snacks if she misbehaves in school again.

Sherilyn has definitely inherited my taste buds for she just loves bread but hate rice. Eating rice was also a torture for me since young but my parents and maternal grandma were very strict. I had to eat what was served on the dining table, definitely no choosing bread, noodles or rice everyday, even had to force myself to swallow food which I disliked and definitely no walking around, fussing and whining during mealtimes, else I would surely be whipped! I was also much more obedient and feared being whipped.

Anyway, times have changed. I am not that harsh with my kids but I am still a strict disciplinarian. Friends and relatives always tell me that I should just starve Sherilyn if she doesn’t want to eat what I serve her. If she doesn’t want to eat her plate of rice with dishes, by all means, keep the plate of food after an hour and don’t even fix her milk later. When she’s hungry, she will eat whatever is served on the dining table the next day. But still, I can’t do it.

When my mil is not around to help me coax Sherilyn to eat her dinner, I take the short cut out. I serve her whatever she requests on most days, which are bread and noodles. Sherilyn never gets bored with these 2.  This brat loves to have lots of kaya and chunks of butter on her bread.  And here’s just one of her dinners of bread with dishes :

She even uses a pair of chopsticks to eat her slice of bread. Now that’s pretty quirky isn’t it? But oh well, that’s just Sherilyn’s individualistic, very Sherilyn, for she just loves to be different and loves to do things that draw attention!

Sherilyn my super vainpot is really obsessed and fastidious with her hair. Every morning, she would spend at least 5 minutes choosing her hair accessories and then demands that her hair be tied in 2 pig tails. Though her hair is not very long, she nonetheless accessorize it elaborately. I wish Alycia would just be this vain and have some interest in girlish stuff.

That’s my princess wannabe wearing her new Minnie Mouse head band, her favorite oversized Minnie Mouse hair clip and her favorite ‘Paris Hilton sunglasses’ which is inseparable from her. Koo mah bought her the Disney head band during her recent trip to Hong Kong. Sherilyn is so inseparable from her Minnie Mouse hair clip and ‘Paris Hilton sunglasses’ that she brought them with her to Hong Kong recently. The Minnie Mouse head band has a pink veil attached to it which makes her look like a bride when she wears it! I’ll bet if she wore a pair of  Balenciaga sunglasses, she would look exactly like a fashionista or a diva! I must say this girl has style and refined taste for fashion! What do you get when you combine style, vanity and a sociable personality? Sounds like it’s a future Miss Malaysia or future Miss Congeniality in the making eh?  LOL….wishful thinking for this mummy!

Sherilyn concocted yet another bizarre creation with her drinks the other day. I boiled some loh hon koa herbal drink again as everyone in the house have been having productive cough. Sherilyn who was feeling a tad under the weather (but still remained hyper active and mischevious) told me that her ‘tongue feels plain’ and didn’t want to drink her herbal drink. She told me she wanted to add something else into her herbal drink and I suggested adding in some Ribena, honey or prune juice. But this brat who always wants to exercise her independance and freedom of choice had another bright idea. She took out the bottle of organic soy bean milk meant for baby from the fridge and poured it into her cup of black herbal drink and right before her eyes, she saw her black drink turned to brown…. just like milk coffee like this:

Tell me, would you want to taste it too? I almost wanted to puke looking at her bizarre concoction, eewwww!  But this brat gulped it down!

My princess wannabe loves to be different and special. And she has a rather creative bizarre sense of taste.  From egg yolk mixed with peanut butter to 5 types of bread spread on her toasts, mixing soy bean milk in her formulated milk everyday to sprinkling Milo in her soybean curd, she tried mixing barley water and Ribena into her loh hon koa herbal drink (a slightly bitter herbal drink made from a dried fruit) the other day!

My brat didn’t want to drink her loh hon koa herbal drink the other day. I told her that it’s good for her cough and she has to drink it. But my brat has a bright idea. She would only gulp it down if I mixed some other drinks  into her herbal drink. And so she searched the fridge and picked up a mug of cold barley water and the bottle of Ribena… and demanded that I mixed them into her herbal drink. Gosh, I wouldn’t even want to try the ‘cocktail’ to see what that yucky concoction tasted like but my brat gulped the cocktail down happily. And guess what she mixed with her herbal drink again yesterday? You wouldn’t believe and guess it right what she mixed it with. I shall blog about it tomorrow.

Not a day passes by without Sherilyn throwing tantrums and crying. She can be really really adorable, cute, lovable and can really make me laugh with her antics when she’s in a good mood. But when she doesn’t get what she wants, she will throw temper tantrums, bawl and whine.   All these will surely make me blow my top.

Here she is caught in action, pretending to cry when she didn’t get what she wanted several days ago, after school:

When we saw her sitting there, everyone burst out laughing….. and she too wanted to laugh but suppressed her laughter and continued to bow her head and pretended to cry… which made us all laugh even harder! Muahahahaha…..

This morning I gave Alycia and Sherilyn each a blackcurrant flavored colostrum tab before they left for school.  While Alycia popped the tab into her mouth, guess where Sherilyn the menace put the tab?  Guess, guess guess…….

she put the colostrum tab between her first and second toes!  Haiyoh…. why of all places, she slotted the tab between her toes?!  Had I not reprimanded her, I think she would have done some acrobatic stunts and tried using her toes to pop the tab into her mouth and I’m quite certain she would have done that.  Sherilyn ohhhhhh Sherilyn!!

I am just so convinced that Sherilyn is related to Dennis The Menace.  She is full of ideas, tricks and prangs up on her sleeves.

This brat of mine takes between 2-3 hours each night to finish her dinner. On most nights, she would only finish her dinner at around 9:30pm or 10pm if she eats rice. If she eats green tea noodles or bread which are her favorites, the eating time would be shortened. Eating rice with dishes on the dining table is like putting her into a torture chamber!

On 2 occassions, everyone else had finished their dinner and she was still sitting at the dining table, storing food in her mouth and her plate of food was cold and gross looking. Food was everywhere on the table and floor. I was bathing Baby C. I threatened her that after bathing baby, she had to finish her plate of food, else I would make her eat in the bathroom and whack her. When I came out of the bathroom, I was surprised and happy to see that her plate was empty and she was drinking her cup of water. I praised her but my joy very soon turned into anger when I saw her food in the dustbin outside the bathroom! This sneaky brat had thrown her food into the dustbin and she was cunning enough to have thrown the food into 2 dustbins – 1 in the dustbin in the master bedroom and the other into the dustbin outside the bathroom. I was fuming mad and reprimanded her big time.

Last night, I caught my wilful Sherilyn in action again. I was in my room, blowing dry Alycia’s hair after her bath when I saw Sherilyn hurriedly walking into the bathroom. She was pinching some green veggies with her fingers and she wanted to flush them down into the toilet bowl! When I said “hey, what are you doing?”, this brat instinctively chucked the veggie into her mouth and said “nothing… I want to eat the veggie“, quickly chewed the veggie and walked back to the dining table to finish off her dinner, painfully.  LOL…. this brat sure has super quick reflex action! She had told me earlier that she didn’t want to eat the veggie but I insisted that she had to eat them. Gawd!! Can you believe how sneaky and snaky this brat is? I wonder who taught her these cunning ideas. Eerrmmm…. I think she inherited some of the cunning genes from me. When I was in Standard 1, I would pour all my water from my water tumbler into the drain before my dad came to pick me up after school. My mum had warned me to finish all the water but I hated plain water, so I threw them away! No one taught me that too, lol!

Mah mah bought Alycia and Sherilyn each a piggy bank for X’mas last year. Daddy has been giving them coins, one and five ringgit notes to put into their piggy banks.  The gals enjoy putting money into their piggy banks, so much that they keep badgering daddy for money everyday. Daddy who is the gals’ Mr Yes Man obligingly gives them money, even ten ringgit notes.  I, who is always seen as the baddie put my foot down and said no coz I know Sherilyn the menace has the tendency to punch holes on those ten dollar notes. I have to keep drumming into their heads that they are not to play with the money. Also told them that the money that they put in their piggy banks will be safe kept in the bank when their piggy banks are full. I told them that the money will be used when they go to university in future. But Sherilyn my little vain pot begs to differ. She said she wants to use the money to get married! I wonder where she got the idea from! And who does she want to marry? Daddy! *slaps forehead*

The other day when my parents were in KL, we had dinner at the Imbi Palace. Just as we were leaving the house, Sherilyn my super vain pot who likes to accessorise herself from head to toe insisted on wearing her sunglasses on her head like a headgear. When we reached the restaurant, she asked me for my shawl as she felt cold. Daddy then put the shawl round her shoulders and my super vain pot pulled the sunglasses down and wore it. When the food came, she refused to wear her bib and began to eat… ala mode superstar.  She was behaving like some famous diva demanding for this and that and everything under the restaurant’s ceiling…. and only daddy can stomach her nonsense.

Doesn’t she look like a Paris Hilton wannabe here ?

All of us are so certain that she will grow up to be one domineering, bossy and vain missy.
