Sherilyn’s Battle with Hives Caused By An Allergic Reaction

Allergies can manifest in various ways, sometimes catching us off guard and causing significant discomfort. Last Wednesday, Sherilyn had a harrowing experience with hives, triggered by an allergic reaction. And this happened just two months after my hives attack.

That evening, Sherilyn returned home from her part-time work at a café and had dinner before heading to her dance class. Little did we know that this routine evening would take an unexpected turn. Sherilyn’s dinner consisted of rice with chili prawns and Ayam Kuzi, a delightful meal she had enjoyed before without any issues. However, on her way to the dance class, she began experiencing itchy hives on her limbs, signaling an allergic reaction.

Itchy rashes on her hand.

Sherilyn would occasionally get itchy lips after eating prawns but this allergic reaction does not happen all the time after eating prawns.  It’s a hit-and-miss kind of allergy, so we cannot really say that she has an allergy to prawns.  But we suspect that she may be allergic to the chemicals used in farmed prawns.

By the time Sherilyn’s dance class concluded around 10 pm, the hives had intensified, spreading to her hands, legs, and back, accompanied by severe itching. Alarmed by her discomfort, her dad rushed her to the Accident and Emergency department of the hospital for immediate medical assistance. Sherilyn’s condition worsened as she also experienced slight difficulty talking and body spasms.

At the A&E.

At the A&E, the medical officer administered steroid injections to alleviate the itching and rash.   Concerned about Sherilyn’s well-being, the attending medical officer recommended hospitalization for monitoring purposes. The next morning, a physician was assigned to care for Sherilyn. He recommended that Sherilyn stayed in the hospital for another night.  However, as her symptoms improved, and with the hospital conveniently located just minutes away from our home, I asked the attending physician if it was OK to discharge Sherilyn. The doctor agreed, emphasizing our responsibility for her continued care at home, and stated that should any untoward incidences happen to Sherilyn at home, the doctor and the hospital would not be held accountable. I agreed.

From the time Sherilyn arrived at the hospital at night to the time she was discharged the next day, she received three steroid injections and was put on a drip to ensure hydration.

Lunch was… meh. Sweet and sour Kembong fish and stir-fried kangkung with chili. And the banana was only half ripened 😒.

Although Sherilyn had experienced occasional itchy lips after eating prawns in the past, this severe reaction was unexpected. Allergies can be unpredictable, and even familiar foods can trigger adverse reactions later in life. You can randomly develop food allergies as an adult.

To manage her condition after her discharge from the hospital, Sherilyn was prescribed oral steroid pills, which she had to take six pills once a day for a week. Additionally, she was given two types of antihistamines – one that causes drowsiness and another that does not. As a precautionary measure, she also has to take an anti-gastric pill to counteract any potential gastric side effects from the steroid medication.

The unexpected hospital stay resulted in a substantial bill of nearly three thousand Ringgit. We hope that Sherilyn’s insurance coverage will help alleviate this financial burden, although claim approvals are subject to their policies and terms.

Random Updates- 6 July 2023

With effect from July, Sherilyn doesn’t need to work on Saturdays anymore at the cafe. She now works at a bakery @ Gardens Mall on Mondays and Tuesdays and then works at the cafe from Wednesdays to Fridays. July will be the last month that she gets to work part-time as she will begin her pre-U studies in August.

I told Sherilyn to give herself two weeks to settle a ton of things before she goes to college and gets even busier. She’s been super busy since late last year with tuitions to prep for her SPM exam. After her SPM, she has been busy with part-time work and dancing. Because of her busyness, she’s not gone to her dentist to check the progress of her teeth and braces since March this year. She’s supposed to see the dentist every fortnightly but has missed three months of dental appointments despite me nagging her to get an appointment! 🙄

Finally, Sherilyn had the time to whip up something delicious as she now has one free day in the week. Last Friday evening after she got back from work, she cooked a delicious tomato soup using the Thermomix. The next day, she pan-fried sourdough bread with butter and cheese and had it for brunch.

This set probably costs over RM30 at a fancy cafe but is only half the cost or even lesser here. And it’s so delicious!

My Life In Photos This Week

Hello peeps!

There’s nothing much to update from me this week, except that it’s been a hot, hot week. It’s so hot that I am always drenched in sweat at home, the moment I move about to do chores. So, this is pretty much a good excuse for me to avoid doing stir-fries and anything that involves cranking up the hot stove 😬

Fortunately I’ve been getting food from hubby’s kitchen almost every day. So all I had to do was to prep a simple green veggie dish by blanching in hot water, or a meat dish grilled in the oven or air-fried. No stir-fries and deep-fries in the sauna cum kitchen.

Sherilyn and I have also started discussing on her tertiary education path as the SPM results will be out soon. Basically, she’s interested in taking A-Levels and then, the shocker, she wants to take a degree in architecture.

Say what? I couldn’t believe her choice.

I’m not really keen in her taking this course as it’s an 8-to-11 year course before one becomes a professional architect! 8-11 years! And the money to fund the studies!! And will she have the perseverance to complete the whole course? I’m now breathing on rarefied air!

She definitely needs a full scholarship or some kind souls to fund her 8-11 years of education from a bachelor’s degree to a master’s degree.

Anyways, the ultimate decision will depend on her SPM results.

Even Haru is feeling the heat and prefers to sleep on the cool floor with body stretched.

Delicious chicken satay with thick peanut sauce and Kuih Talam from hubby’s kitchen.

Blanched ‘Yeh Heong Far’ flower veggies from my regular organic veggie seller. I drizzled some olive oil on it and used the satay sauce as dressing.

The next day, we had beef satay, Roti Jala and chicken curry from hubby’s shop.

Yummy for our tummies 😋
The Roti Jala tasted really good and crispy when air-fried the next day.

My wrist splint from China (ordered through Lazada) finally arrived after a week. I’ve been wearing a wrist splint to sleep at night for the past 1.5 years to prevent the discomfort of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from disrupting my sleep. And it works like a charm. China-made wrist splints cost a fraction of the price of branded ones sold at local pharmacies and the quality is good. Just make sure you read the reviews first before ordering.

Sherilyn’s Sourdough Bread Creations: A Journey of Flavor and Creativity

Sourdough bread has been around for centuries, and its popularity has only grown in recent years. For some, sourdough bread is more than just a loaf of bread; it’s a canvas for culinary creativity. This is true for Sherilyn, who has found a passion in experimenting with sourdough bread recipes and creating new and exciting dishes. Sherilyn doesn’t bake sourdough bread though due to time constraints, but she loves to create quick dishes to pair with the sourdough bread.

Creamy Scrambled Eggs with Sourdough Bread

One of Sherilyn’s favorite creations is pan-fried sourdough bread with butter paired with a super creamy scrambled egg dish, which she can whip up in a jiffy. She usually preps this for breakfast if she has to go out and needs something that can fill her up for at least half a day.

Tomato Salsa and Avocado with Sourdough Bread

Another of Sherilyn’s favorite creations is pan-fried sourdough bread with butter paired with tomato salsa, avocado, cheese, and salad.

Grated Cheese and Avocado with Sourdough Bread

Today she prepped pan-fried sourdough bread with grated cheese and avocado for lunch. To make this dish, she simply pan-fries a slice of sourdough bread in a little bit of butter until it’s golden brown on both sides. She then tops the bread with grated parmesan cheese and slices of avocado for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Cilbir (Turkish Eggs) with Sourdough Bread

Turkish Çılbır, pronouned chil-bir, is basically poached eggs served over a bed of thick, garlicky yogurt and finished with a generous drizzle of warmed butter.

Sherilyn cooked this for dinner yesterday. Turkish eggs are a popular breakfast dish in Turkey.  For the yogurt spread, she used Farmers Union 50% lower-fat Greek-style yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, black pepper, cayenne pepper, melted warm butter, and dill for the yogurt spread. The yogurt spread also goes well with crackers, toasted bread, and tortilla chips.

Sherilyn served her Turkish eggs with pan-fried sourdough bread for a hearty and delicious dinner.

On another note, our latest love is Farmers Union 50% lower-fat Greek-style yogurt. It’s very creamy and tastes like cream cheese, yet not overly cloy and starchy like other brands of Greek yogurt. We use this yogurt as salad dressing, for smoothies and mango lassi.

Sourdough bread is more than just a loaf of bread; it’s a canvas for culinary creativity. Sherilyn has found a passion in experimenting with sourdough bread recipes and creating new and exciting dishes. Her pan-fried sourdough bread with cheese and avocado and Turkish eggs with sourdough bread are just two examples of her culinary creativity.

Pan-fried sourdough bread with Turkish Eggs. This tastes as good as it looks.

Pan-fried sourdough bread topped with grated parmesan cheese and avocado; Grilled mixed veggies (zucchini, Japanese pumpkin, mushrooms, onions and a bulb of garlic)

Today’s hearty lunch. I’m glad that my girls are more of a veggie person than a meat person. They love colorful veggies, green veggies, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, and a wide variety of raw veggies.

Keeping this for Cass for her breakfast tomorrow.

Leslie Cheung’s 20th Death Anniversary – Will You Remember Me Flash Mob @ Pavillion Bukit Jalil

Sherilyn was one of the dancers of a flash mob dance organized by Universal Music Hong Kong and held at Pavillion Bukit Jalil on Saturday, 25 March 2023. The event was to commemorate the passing of Leslie Cheung 20 years ago on 1 April 2003. Her dance studio, 1119 Dance Studio/1119 Entertainment, was engaged to provide dancers for the flash mob.

The dancers boogied to Leslie’s most popular hits donned in retro clothes of Leslie Cheung’s era/’80s. Sherilyn appeared in the song “Thanksx4 Monica”.

I was there to watch the flash mob and to give moral support to my dancer, while Cass was at the skating rink for figure skating practice. I just couldn’t stop singing along to the song “Thanksx4 Monica” during the flash mob. This song reminds me of my carefree and happy teenage years in the mid 1980s. My elder brother would jam to this song day and night on his mini compo. Leslie’s suicide came as a big shocker to me and to the entire world. He was one of my favorite TVB ‘leng jai’ actors and singers. My friends and I used to swoon over him.

Can you spot Sherilyn? She’s with a bandana and in white attire with a yellow singlet over.
You should be able to spot Sherilyn in this photo.

Here’s the video of the flash mob on You Tube. To all the fans of Leslie Cheung, enjoy the dance and songs 💓

Monday, 6 September 2022

Sherilyn took the 8.47 am ETS train to Ipoh today. It’s the first time that she made a trip to Ipoh without her parents and sisters. Her grandaunt followed her back but she’ll be alone when she takes the return trip back to KL. It’s also the first time in 2 years 7 months that she’s gone back to Ipoh to visit her grandparents, no thanks to Covid.

Cass and I are unable to make this trip back to Ipoh as Cass has an MRU (Magnetic Resonance Urography) procedure at HKL on Thursday. MRU is a type of MRI exam that uses contrast material to evaluate and detect blood in the urine, kidney or bladder stones, and cancer in the urinary tract. It’s her third time going through an MRU as the previous two scans didn’t yield 100% crystal clear images. The previous two reports state that there’s likely an ectopic ureter but images of where the said ureter exits to cannot be seen clearly, most likely caused by adhesions from her previous two abdomen surgeries performed when she was a 13-month old baby.

Cass and I went to HKL yesterday to have a pre-admission Covid swab test. It was Cass’ third time going through this unpleasant test and my first experience. I thought that the swab test was only for Cass as she’ll be going into the imaging room but when the staff told me that I had to get the swab test done too since I was accompanying Cass into the ward, I panicked! Oh no no no! I thought I could avoid doing the nasty swab test (since we now have self-test kits) but I couldn’t escape it.

So no choice, do lor 🥶.

The throat swab wasn’t that bad (as the swab wasn’t very deep into my throat) but the nose swab was slightly uncomfortable as the male nurse shoved that long swab deeply into my nostrils, almost making me sneeze.

Cass kept telling me that I don’t have to accompany her at the ward and told me not to do the swab test. These days she prefers to do things alone (without me helping her) to exercise her independence… which makes me feel unwanted but am glad that she can be left alone in the hospital. In fact, she told me that she’s happier without me accompanying her at the ward 😞. Maybe it’s because she doesn’t want her paparazzi mum to snap pix of her. She gets chafed whenever I take her pix and would warn me not to post them on my socials and blogs.

I may go home after Cass is checked into the ward on Thursday. She said that she’ll call me after she’s all done.

Cass commented that the nose swab is worst than a jab and would rather get a jab than do a nose swab 😳

After an entire day in school to attend an SPM camp, she came home and baked a fudgy brownies for her loved ones in Ipoh.
Brownies baked with love. It’s gluten-free so that my mom can try it. My mum is gluten intolerant. The brownies is composed of oat flour, Lindt 90% dark chocolate, organic cacao powder, eggs and a little sugar. It’s the perfect fudgy brownies. I love it!

Homemade Assorted Madeleines

Our teenage chef is on a madeleine baking frenzy! She made two batches on the same day some time last week and it was a BIG HIT with everyone, especially Cass.

Cass even brought the madeleines to school for recess. She’s one stubborn fella who just wouldn’t want to bring any food to school despite me forcing, coaxing and even bribing her. I’m worried that she will not be able to endure an almost 24-hour fast with only water. But this super stubborn girl said that she’s not hungry in school as there’s no PE and she’s just seated at her desk from 7-ish a.m. till 3 p.m. in an air-conditioned class room. She says her butt and back hurt, and her muscles go stiff from sitting almost the entire day. Thus, when she gets home, she works out quite a bit. She’s a fitness junkie.

As I am typing this post now, chef S had a spur of the moment whim to bake madeleines again because Maria will be here today to help us clean up. I think she’s whipping up banana madeleines and some other new flavors. She loves creating new flavors.

Last week she made madeleines with different toppings – pistachio, hazelnut, blueberry and original. The batter is mixed with almond meal.

Pistachio and hazelnut madeleines.
Raw pistachios ground using a traditional pestle and mortar to get the texture that she wanted, i.e. not too fine nor too coarse.
Blueberry madeleines.

Random Updates

Sherilyn got herself a part-time job at our neighborhood cafe to kill time during the 3-week school holidays. This is the third week she’s in the job. She only works on Saturdays and on certain week days when she doesn’t have tuition classes. The owners of the cafe are awesome folks and take really good care of Sherilyn and all their staff members. I hope Sherilyn gets to continue working at this cafe for the next few years on a part-time basis. She will most probably start college in September next year and can work part-time on Saturdays. The duties are basically what she’d normally do at home such as washing dishes, helping out in food prep in the kitchen, sweeping and moping the floor, with the added job of waiting at tables. I told her that she passed the probationary period at the cafe because she’s got really good training at home from an OCD mom 😬

The cafe owners, a couple, don’t mind irregular working days. All the waiting staff are college and varsity students and are paid on a daily basis.

This week has been in-person classes week for Alycia. She’s getting busier by the day with back-to-back meetings, assignments and activities every single day. I hardly get to see her these days. Today is the first day that she joined a dodgeball team in campus and she made a few new friends from other faculties. She only got home at 10pm, after dodgeball and dinner of Yakitori with her dad. I’m so excited for Alycia that she’s got such an exciting college life. If only we could swap places right now!! 😬

Cass will be going back to school on 30th March. Yay, finally!!! Staying home for so long without much activities is killing both Cass and me. She annoys me the entire day by hogging my computer (though she has a laptop and a desktop!), hogs my bedroom, my mobile phone (though she has her own), my fan, and even hogs the bathroom for hours every single day! I can’t wait for her to go back to school for I really need my space, my me time and my quiet time!

Here’s Haru saying “Meow-llo! Happy Weekend!”
Not the gentlest cat, but very smart and adorable. She still likes to bite when we play with her. Her most favorite person is still her hooman dad and will only ‘manja’ her dad. She’s still trying very, very hard to win grandma over but hasn’t succeeded yet.

16 February 2022 ~ Sherilyn’s 17th Birthday

Sherilyn turns 17 today! She’s my Chor 8 CNY baby. Her birthday fell during CNY in most years but this year, it’s a day after Chap Goh Meh.

Used to be the most challenging and willful child of my 3 daughters, Sherilyn’s grown and matured so much over the years. She’s no longer my most challenging child now but the most independent and talented. She still needs me to nag at her to shower early and sleep early though. She has now passed the ‘most challenging child’ baton to her youngest sister 🥴.

Sherilyn’s birthday dinner was held at our family’s favorite café, Red Kettle.

Seafood soup for Sherilyn. She wanted something light as she had a heavy lunch with her besties.
Fusion fried angel hair pasta with seafood.
Chicken chop for me.
Carbonara for Alycia.
Porkie bowl.
Roast beef sandwich.
Best Portugese egg tarts in the Klang Valley and possibly in Malaysia. One is never enough. I can gobble down two at one go and then corrode with guilt 😬
Minus 4 Degrees ice cream, voted Malaysia’s #1 ice cream brand in 2020. I love the salted caramel flavor. Not too sweet nor cloy. Just perfect. Even better than IS, HD or BR.
Birthday girl with her choice of cake – Tiramisu.

Happy birthday, Sherilyn! I hope that the year ahead will be filled with many blessings from God. Know that you are loved today, tomorrow, and always! ❤️

What The Girls Did During The School Holidays

During the recent 3-week school term break, we stayed home most of the time. Sherilyn and Cass earned some pocket money by working part-time at their dad’s central kitchen and office. Sherilyn helped to prep Western dishes, with Cass assisting her. They also did filing and other clerical jobs at the office.

Cass and Sherilyn also did plates washing on a Sunday, after a function the previous day. It was the staff’s day off that day.
Cass did simple clerical jobs from filing to paper cutting.
Cass and Sherilyn took turns to bring Haru down for a walk. They even brought Haru to the playground at our condo but this scaredy-cat was terrified 😹

Sherilyn started a fundraising bake sale for Stepping Stones Living Center. This is the 2nd year that she embarked on a donation drive for this living center for under-privileged and homeless children and adults.

She sold flourless orange cake (made with 100% pure almond meal and whole oranges), chocolate chip cookies and fresh strawberry milk. This is our all-time favourite cake.
Strawberry milk.
Sherilyn roped in Cass to help with the baking. Here they are prepping pop cakes (using flourless orange cake).
My heart skipped a few beats when Cass chopped the dark chocolate, which was very hard. She’s pretty clumsy and has recently been accidentally cutting her fingers (with knife and fruit peeler, OUCH!!) quite frequently when she cut fruits.
Cake pops for the children and adults at the Stepping Stones Living Centre.
Cake pops coated with dark chocolate.

Shopping for groceries for donation to Stepping Stones Living Centre.
Cass made this Kale + pineapple + orange + strawberry smoothie. Cass made fruit smoothie almost every day during the school holidays.

Now I don’t have to prep smoothie or cut fruits for the girls anymore. They’re all old enough to do it themselves and Cass is even doing it for me now. How nice it is to be finally being served instead of me serving them 😁

Avocado Egg Roll

Our finicky teenage chef doesn’t like her school canteen’s food. So she preps her own food everyday. This week she made these for her lunch box:

  1. Jumeok-bap or rice ball or Korean style onigiri. It’s cooked rice mixed with boiled kombu, sweet corn kernels, seaweed and soy sauce and rolled into balls. You can use any ingredient that you fancy to mix with the rice.
  2. Salad (pesticide-free) with avocado and cheese.
  3. Mashed green peas and ham with cartoon shaped pasta
  4. Avocado and egg rice rolls

I always tell this girl that if she doesn’t get a highly paid job or a rich husband in future, she will find it extremely hard to live a life with humble and simple food. Blame it on her dad who’s spoilt them with good food all their lives 😑

Our Teenage Chef

Sherilyn showed interest in cooking and baking when she was still a preschooler. She started to help me out in the kitchen when she was about 5 years old. She baked her first cake when she was 11 years old. It was a lovely strawberry cake for my mum’s birthday 70th birthday.

Bvtqelvf o

Since that strawberry cake, Sherilyn has baked hundreds of cakes and whipped up jillions of amazing restaurant-style dishes. Partly self-taught and party from observing her grand parents and me in the kitchen, Sherilyn is truly gifted in the kitchen. She could turn simple and cheap ingredients into mouth-watering dishes. She could turn chicken breast (that no one likes) into a juicy, tender and flavorful chicken dish that everyone in the family loves.

But there’s one area that this girl is lacking in and that’s her ingredients measurement. She’s still not well versed with the conversion of unit. For eg. from ounces to ml, from cup to tablespoons, pounds and kilograms, etc. She still needs to refer to an ingredient conversion tool whenever a recipe has measurement units that she’s not familiar with. So, when our chef is in the kitchen, her phone follows her. She checks out recipes, watches You Tube for tutorial and refers to several other websites for reference on her phone whenever she cooks.

Cass is recently under the culinary tutelage of Sherilyn. Cass gets instructions and guidance from her sister on what to do in the kitchen. Together, the two sisters whip up whimsical dishes to whet our appetite. It’s really a great way for the two sisters to bond in the kitchen. Both of them enjoy food and naturally, a love for cooking and baking. Thankfully they are also cautious with their weight and exercise everyday. Sherilyn dances almost every day while Cass watches fitness videos on You Tube, gets tips on workout calories , does Intermittent Fasting and does running and strength training every day.

The school holidays are almost coming to an end. When the girls go back to school, we can only savor their cooking on weekends. But I guess that they may be so exhausted by the time they get home from school that they only want to rest, play fun online games and chillax on weekends.

Monday, 29 November 2021 ~ Random Updates

This week Sherilyn is staying home for remote learning. She went to school last week. Next week will be the last week that Sherilyn attends physical classes in school before the year end school holidays begin.

I’ve been clocking in only 5-6 hours of shut-eye for the last two weeks, including Saturdays and Sundays. I was up early on both weekends as Alycia had to leave the house by 7 a.m. for the van driver from the driving school to fetch her to the driving academy in Puchong. She’s been attending driving lessons on Saturdays and Sundays the past two weeks. After 16 hours of lessons on the road (4 hours for each session), she’s now scheduled to sit for a trial exam this Thursday. Honestly, I’m not sure if 16 hours is sufficient. I’ve not sat in with her in my car for practice lessons as it’s technically not legal for her to be driving around without a driver’s license. I can only 🙏 that Alycia will pass the test in just one sitting. If she flunks, more money will fly out of my wallet for extra driving lessons. And losing more sleep as well 🥱

Just a little update on Alycia’s foundation program at Sunway College. Life in college is much more hectic than life in a Chinese independent high school. Chinese-style education is said to be one of the toughest institutions to be in and students from Chinese schools are always under pressure to be the best of the best. I’m somewhat thankful that she attended Chinese schools for 11 years and thus, has been conditioned for heavy load in homework and regular tests.

There are lots of projects, assignments, presentations and tests in college. Alycia sat for her first exam two months into the course. On some days when it’s her turn to be in college, she would only reach home after 7pm.

Alycia takes Grab to college on some days and on other days, her former classmate who stays in our hood who also goes to the same college, gives her a ride to and fro.

With the school holidays around the corner, Sherilyn is already planning to sell her best seller items to earn some money. Today she made strawberry milk for us and her friends to try. Next, she will work out the cost and price tag for the strawberry milk. She also intends to sell kimchi, tarts and other signature items. This girl has big plans for herself.

Refreshing strawberry milk made using frozen strawberries, Lakanto sugar and Australia fresh milk.

Spanish Paella

Our teenage chef whipped up Spanish Paella for dinner early this week. It’s loaded with fish, prawns and homemade sausages. For the grain, she used Japanese rice. It tastes as good as the one that we had at the farmers’ market in Auckland years ago 😋

For the leftover Paella, Sherilyn baked it the next day. She sauteed a handful of chopped big onions with a can of green peas and topped with mozzarella cheese before popping it into the oven.

Sherilyn & Cassandra’s 2nd Pfizer Shot (Monday, 18 October 2021)

The entire process at Axiata Arena yesterday was completed in under an hour, including a 15-minute post-shot observation period. While the youths waited at the observation area after their shots, all the parents were asked to leave the hall and to wait outside, under the hot scorching sun at 12 noon 😷. The entire process was quick and very well organized. Kudos to the front liners and volunteers 👏

Both Sherilyn and Cass are out of sorts today. They both have similar side effects — fever, chills, headache and joint pain. While Cass was covered in her blanket on the bed, Sherilyn was covered up in a jacket with a cold pack on her forehead. I think they should be well again tomorrow.

With this, Sherilyn will be pretty ready to go back to school for face-to-face learning on 1st November 2021. Cass’ high school has already announced that for junior 1 students, the mode of learning will be fully online until year end. And Alycia’s college will be on a hybrid learning mode – she’ll finally step foot into college on 8 November 2021, yay!

Sunday Specials

Chef Sherilyn’s Sunday Specials on 5 Sept 2021:

  1. Squid, shrimp and scallion pancake
  2. Focaccia bread art
The Focaccia bread art is her first try at it and it turned out superb – crispy on the outside and super pillowy on the inside. A light and fluffy bread with garlic and olive oil littered with some token bits of herbs blanketed with scallions, red onions and tomatoes. Just love the vibrant colors. Not very complicated to make as the kneading was done by the TMX6, just a handful of simple ingredients and everybody loves it! It’s so delish it can be eaten on its own 🙂

I can confidently list her Focacia bread art for sale! Who’s interested?  😁

The Focaccia texture and taste were still good after 3 days at room temperature. We had chicken sliders with it the next day.
Refreshing salad of ice plant, onions, tomatoes and sweet cherry tomatoes.
Shrimp and squid pancake for lunch.
I bought the ice plant and Garden Medley cherry tomatoes from an online seller in our neighborhood and had them delivered to my condo.
Super sweet cherry tomatoes in all shapes and sizes.
What do you see?
I see a snowman but it is a bowling pin in Cass’ eyes  😁

HEALTH FREAK MOMMY
