Tadaaaaa……………….

Manuka honey muffins in Mickey Mouse cups. Nice hor? Tastes nice too coz they are not too sweet and I like the aroma of the Manuka honey.

Now that I know how to operate our android digital oven, my mil has been baking bread every other day. Nice, iLike it!   When she goes overseas again soon, I’ll take over with the baking.

These breads are not baked using a bread maker.  Those of you with bread makers would surely agree on one thing with me – that is the skin of the bread made using the bread maker is hard, right?  So my mil made her breads from scratch and the dough are all proved / fermented for 17 long hours.  That’s why her breads are all soft and the texture is different from those made using a bread maker.

Nice to see, nice to eat but my weight is definitely not nice to see on the scale. I’ve been eating so much bread and muffins that my weight ain’t budging down a wee bit. The only thing I can do is to run longer and intensify my speed every morning, beginning next week when the school holidays start. That’s when I don’t have to rush home to prepare my 2 monkeys for school.

London Blanket’s Falling Down

Nothing makes Baby happier than playing with her 2 jie jies and their favorite is playing ‘London Bridge Is Falling Down’ with their blankies.

In the past, I never allowed my 2 older girls to play or jump on their beds but when you have 3 kids, controlling them would be really out of hand. Kids, the moment they are out of your radar, they will instantly transform into little wayward monsters! Cane them each time they jump on the bed? That will be like canning them 10 times a day, not good right? Sigh…. so I just let them be, close both my eyes and let them jump all they want.    But if their feet are black or have food in their hands, I’ll go berserk and charge them right away!

Our Saturday

As I am typing this post, Baby is now being babysat by her 2 sisters who are entertaining her in my bedroom. Alycia is as usual inside the playpen cuddling her and letting Baby step on her head and all over her, hahaha! Sherilyn is on my bed experimenting hair styles and arranging out her clothes for tonight’s dinner. This vain pot is really vain. We’re only eating out at a nearby eatery and she’s all excited.  She went through her wardrobe to search for outing clothes…..she has even chosen clothes for her jie jie and laid out both her clothes and her jie jie’s clothes on her bed neatly *slaps forehead*  That will be another post to blog about, which I will do next week.

Here are some pix of my 3 gals enjoying kon cheen har loke (dry-style pan fried prawns) taken last week:

Baby is absolutely crazy over prawns. Her fight with her jie jie over the prawn made her say “I wan” (want)!

Me, me, meeeeeeeee……. I want mameee………!

Check out my other blog (aka my food blog) for the recipe.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Baby C Turns 18 Months Today

How time flies. At 18 months, Baby can understand many things that we say and ask her to do, in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay.  Her vocab is also improving by the day.  She’s also showing more and more signs that the Terrible Twos is approaching. She loves to throw tantrums and wants things done her way. When soft approach fails to subdue her, I will raise my voice or spank her gently with my hand! Most times this manages to bring her back to her senses haha!  She’s a very sensitive baby and would droop her lips and start to sob softly the moment anyone scolds her or shows her an angry face, especially her daddy. Tantrums aside, Baby has an angelic smile that will melt even the coldest of hearts.

My sweetie-pie at 18 months….

… with her cheeky smile….

Baby still needs to be spoon-fed Pediasure Vanilla 2-3 times a day (total of 8-9 ounces only a day). She is still breastfed and is very, very hooked on my boops!  Must wean her off soon.  Each spoon-feeding time is still a struggle, especially the morning feed. She still dislikes eating porridge and only wants OUR food!

Her weight is still hovering at a pathetic 9kg. But I guess it’s fine as long as she’s healthy and UTI-free. I’d prefer her to be slim and petite rather than big-sized when she grows up.

Happy 1.5 year old my precious Baby. In half a year’s time, we shall celebrate your 2nd birthday.

Me and my 3 angels. I love Baby’s cheeky smile. She loves to give us this cheeky smile whenever someone snaps her picture.

Baby C’s First Playground Outing

You will be shocked if I tell you that at almost 18 months, Baby C only had her first outing to the playground last week. For the first 14 months of her life, my mornings and evenings were spent feeding her antibiotics and supplements. She ain’t the easiest baby to feed meds and it took almost an hour to get 1-2ml of yucky tasting antibiotics down her throat everyday. The first 14 months of her life also revolved around countless trips to hospitals, painful drips, jabs, daily antibiotics, lots of pain and screams and collection of pee for tests. Looooooong sigh….. The thought of what we had gone through still makes my eyes wet but know what? I have not once cried like a baby during her 3-week stay in the hospital after her surgeries in May this year, though I really felt like crying like a baby in fear and in pain. I had to be strong.

Anyway, enough of sob stories. I hope all these traumatic times are now behind us. Here’s wishing more of such happy days to come for Baby and her 2 jie jies.

Playground at our condo…

All of Baby’s firsts – first swing ride and first time down the slide.  In the past, she only saw these on TV.  Baby girl, you’ll definitely have more of such fun rides from now onwards!

Happy Kids = Messy House

My hubs who is a neat freak always complains that our house is in a perpetual mess. He expects to step into a house where everything is spick-and-span and everything is placed where it should be. He seems to have an OCD with neatness and always tidies the house, keeps our things and throws my things away without first telling me …. and this always drives me nuts!  Can you feel my burning anger when he always throws the things that I still need and love?  Aargh…. I can almost strangle him!  I always tell him that he has not just 3 kids but 3 very samseng, hyper-active and rambunctious kids, so it’s a very normal thing to have a house that’s upside down, hahahahah!    Here’s a common scene in my house:Eye sore – cushions strewn everywhere, chairs turned upside down with the legs yanked off all the time, toys scattered in every nook and corner – under and above the bed and couch, under my pillow and blanket, school bags lying everywhere and food dropped everywhere on the floor. One minute you tidy up their things, the next second you turn your back on them, things will be messed up again.  I guess we will have to bear with this for at least another 3-4 years.Have a great Sunday everyone!

Random Pix Of My 3 Angels

My little samseng and terrorizer climbing sofa with an Ikea stool to watch the outside view ….

and then attempted to climb on the window grills like a primate!

Baby’s porridge with seabass fish (which she loved) and lots of stir-fried spinach, all chopped up….

Baby enjoying her seabass fish porridge with spinach, which she loved and could polish off quite a big bowl…

For once, Sherilyn polished off her plate of rice with dishes in a jiffy! Coz she likes steamed seabass fish (which tastes so much like cod fish) and there’s stir-fried spinach, her favorite veggie. To reward her, I gave a packet of sugar-free Iko biscuit.

Going On A Short Holiday

We’re heading north tomorrow. First to my parents in Ipoh and the following day to Penang. Wish me luck. Baby is due for a post-operation MCUG scan at a private hospital in Penang on Thursday to see if she still has kidney reflux.  We changed our mind and now the 2 older gals will be tagging along with us to Penang.  My parents will be joining us too.  We’ve told the gals that there will be no swimming in the hotel pool due to the H1N1 pandemic.  Most likely no swimming in the beach too as we’re not staying at a beach resort.  We plan to stay at the new Hard Rock Hotel at Batu Ferringhi during the December school holidays.

I’ve spent my afternoon packing my stuff and Baby’s. I still have to pack Alycia’s and Sher’s stuff but Baby does not want to nap now. Gave her my boops but that cheeky fler bit my tits! Not once but many times!! And she giggled when I yelped out in pain, see how cheeky this fler is. She’s beginning to be more and more naughty, just like her Sherilyn jie jie. I got so angry with her for biting my tits that I dumped her into the playpen haha! Now she’s screaming and throwing all her toys out, to get my attention… and calling me “meh meh, ma mee, ma mee” and I’m ignoring her *evil mummy*

I’ll leave you with some pix of my 3 cheeky girls taken yesterday. They fished out their fairy wings and decided to be a fairy for the day!

Who Does Baby C Resemble More?

As I was going through my photo album on my desktop today, I can’t help but study the faces of my 3 gals to see who Baby C resembles more. You be the judge:

This is Alycia when she was about 16-17 months old…

This is Sherilyn when she was around Baby C’s age now (15 months)…

And this is Baby C at 15 months…. hahaha, check out her cheeky look, smacking her lips…

Some people say Baby C is a splitting image of Alycia and some say she resembles Sherilyn but I think she is in between.  She has a look of her own but at times she looks so much like Alycia and at times like Sherilyn.  She is a combination of both her jie jies.

Our Typical Afternoon At Home

This is another typical afternoon scene at our home :

Alycia and Sherilyn will be seated at the dining table doing their homework and my little nosy parker will be walking and crawling everywhere, her favorite being under the table for she always gets to find ‘treasure’ under there… from bread crumbs to grains of rice to broken pencil lead, eraser dirt, pencil sharpener wastes (all thanks to her 2 jie jies) and insects.

Check out my samseng princess wannabe’s legs. She can never ever sit like a lady-like and is always fidgeting, stretching and contorting her body… and it’s not uncommon that she often falls off the chair *shake head and gasp*.  I just hope baby won’t follow this jie jie’s foot steps coz I really can’t cope with 2 samsengs at home…

The Gals’ First Beach Experience

My 3 gals experienced their first beach outing last Sunday. Initially, Alycia and Sherilyn were terrified of the sea water, especially the waves and didn’t want to get into the water.  After much coercion from daddy and koong koong, they went into the water reluctantly…. and in fear! Daddy and koong koong each had to carry Alycia and Sherilyn, who clung on to them like a koala bear. After getting used to the salty sea water and the waves, Alycia refused to get out from the water!  Sherilyn, however still preferred to stay dry and build sand castles instead.

Baby C was ABSOLUTELY terrified of the water.  She kept saying “um mai” (no in Cantonese) while shaking her head.  She wailed with all her might when granny put her feet on the sand….. and then all of a sudden a huge wave came and wet her legs and panty LOL!   Notice how petite Baby C is here?  Her once lotus root legs have now shrunken to goat’s legs 🙁

As for me, I wanted to leave the beach after 15 minutes as it was scorching hot and I wanted so much to PEE and there wasn’t any loos around.  I just stayed under the huge brolly and kept pestering hubby to hurry up.  What a spoilt sport hor?  After playing in the water, hubby, koong koong and granny had to rinse the gals and our slippers with big bottles of mineral water before climbing into the car.  I told hubby that I don’t want to suffer like that again in future.  The next time, we will check into a beach resort facing the beach so that the gals can be properly dressed in their bathing suits and play in the beach to their hearts’ content…. and I don’t have to hold my breath to hold back my pee for 1 long freaking hour under the scorching 11am sun.

Reunited And It Feels So Good

Baby C was finally reunited with her 2 doting cheh chehs on Saturday last week after being away from them for almost a month. The entire Saturday, I just can’t stop myself from singing the song ‘Reunited And It Feels So Good’ 🙂 The whole morning while I waited for them to arrive in Penang (together with my hubs and parents), I also had a tad worry that baby would not recognize her cheh cheh. Well, baby did cry when she saw so many people in the hotel room as she was napping and was awoken from her nap. After a while, she was comfortable and happy again, especially when her favorite cheh cheh, Alycia climbed into the baby cot and tried to make her laugh.

This pic was taken just after Baby C’s cheh chehs arrived in Penang. Alycia was dancing away, to cheer baby up.

While Alycia entertained baby, Sherilyn was busy helping herself to the tit bits that I had bought. She was busy nibbling on pine nuts here.

Alycia and Baby C sharing a tender moment here… just like they have always had. They were just making each other laugh and giggle.

Notice how long Baby C’s hair is here? Well, I finally brought her to the hair saloon to have it trimmed today… and her pretty curls at the back are finally snipped off 🙁 But she still looks as cute as ever even without her curls. I’m pretty sure the curls will grow again.

Baby C Is Walking

Just like her 2 cheh chehs who were both early walkers, Baby C is now walking. She started to cruise at 6 months and at 12 months, she can now walk quite fast with me holding her hand. However, she is still trying to balance herself when walking on her own without any aid. She could nonetheless walk a few steps unaided when placed on the floor. She still feels more comfortable crawling as she could move faster from one place to another in a crawling mode.

BBC's 1st bday, purple cauliflwr, bbc eats egg 012
My sweetiepie is just like her 2 rambunctious cheh cheh as she would go gaga too over balloons. At the mention of the word ‘balloon’ or when she sees the picture of a balloon, she will give me a wide cheeky grin, hehe.

Baby C trying to get cheh cheh’s balloons. Sweet Alycia cheh cheh volunteered to lie down on the couch to catch baby, just in case she falls.

I have to compress this pic to the smallest size coz at Flickr, the medium size pic is still too big to fit perfectly into my blog page. When resized, Baby C’s face is distorted.

Updates On My Gals

My girls have been driving me up the wall these few days.  Sherilyn who has been having high fever for the past 5 days has been really crabby.  She doesn’t want to eat anything or drink anything and I have to force her to drink liquid.  I’ve spent almost my entire day for the past 5 days feeding meds and health supplements to 2 sick kittens.  At night, hubby does the night duty and sleeps in with Sherilyn.  He will check her temperature, sponge her and feed her meds round the clock.  At times when her fever shoots up to 40 degrees Celsius, he will wake me up and get my help to insert the suppository.  Sherilyn who has always been very clingy to daddy cried for almost an hour this morning when he left the house.  The sound of her wailing can really drive me nuts.

Baby C has been bitten by the cold bug as well since last night.  I’d expected her to be bitten too coz both mummy and cheh cheh were bitten hard.  Fortunately Baby C’s cold is only very mild.  I hope it does not accelerate into a full blown flu.  I’m also praying hard that Alycia doesn’t get bitten as well.  Can you imagine how hard my days would be if all my 3 gals are down with full blown flu and all 3 of them get crabby and cry all day long?

Hubby and I have been going in and out of the hospital with Baby C for the past 1 week…. two urine tests done in a week and another one to be done this Saturday, along with an ultrasound scan.  Even our nephrologist lets out a sigh… coz we are now doubting the accuracy of the first urine culture report done at a hospital near where we stay. The WBC and the colony count of the bacteria do not seem to jive. The WBCs and bacteria colony count in her pee seem to be moving like a yoyo… up and down and the bacteria keeps changing.  You can check out my health blog to read the details.

What The Gals Have Been Up To In Ipoh… Part II

This morning my mum brought Alycia and Sherilyn for a walk by the hills.  We live within meters away from some very scenic limestone hills, something which Ipoh is well-known for.  The gals miss meeting up with their old friends.  Guess who their old friends are?

An old and huge mother goose who always chase us and scare us outa our wits (yet the gals long to see the goose), a turkey, a peacock, some dogs and some monkeys living in the hills.   There used to be some horses there too but now they are no longer there.  The gals have been seeing these animals since they were babies and each time we’re back in Ipoh, they would long to see their friends.  Today Daddy will be coming to Ipoh to bring us back to KL tomorrow.  If the weather permits, we will bring the gals to Polo Ground this evening.  They gals love to have rides on the electronic cars there.   Polo Ground is a very beautiful place and many people go there for jogging.  There are also several playgrounds for kids at the Polo Ground.  Though this place is a flurry of activities during the day, it is damn spooky at night coz it’s next to a couple of Chinese cemetries!   And guess what?  It is also a lovers’ paradise and many ‘kereta rosak’ (rendeavouz in the car) there at night LOL!

Today granny will bring Alycia to Jaya Jusco to get her a bicycle as she has promised Alycia a bicycle for her 5th birthday.  The gals fun-filled days in Ipoh is coming to an end but fortunately granny is following us back to KL tomorrow.  She will stay there for a week, after which I will be all alone again handling my 2 rambunctious monkeys and a high-need, high maintenance baby 🙁

All 3 gals fighting to sit on the rocking chair. They seem to like this rocking chair and also my parents’ Gintell massage chair a lot.

Sherilyn playing with her new Hoola hoop that granny bought for her from Giant.
