3 Little Samsengs

Friends and strangers always tell me that I’m lucky I have 3 girls as girls are more demure and not so hyper active, more laid back and not so rambunctious BUT I beg to differ. I always tell them, “wait till you come to my home and you’ll see their true colors!”

Check them out at home. Tell me, do your daughters sit like this? Or just mine? I never sit like this! So I wonder who they learned this from??

On another note, I’m glad that Alycia is a responsible jie jie. Her Mandarin tutor has assigned a task to her – that she is to flash cards of Mandarin characters of 1-10 to Sherilyn at home. And she obediently toed the line, brought the flash cards along with her and flashed them to her sis on our way to church on Sunday!

Random Pix Of Health Freak Mom’s Angels

Here are some pix taken during my mum’s stay here with us last week. My mum had been a great help to me during her 1.5 weeks stay with me. Without her help, I’d have gone bonkers.  Last week, I had to check over 100 pieces of clothes for my customers and had them couriered out.  It was also Alycia’s 2nd term school exam.   She had gone back to Ipoh 2 days ago and I am now left all alone to fend for myself with 3 rambunctious rascals, boo hoo hoohoo….. mummy, pleazzzz come back to rescue me again!!

My 3 pretty & rambunctious angels… they break my back, they break my heart at times, they break my temper all the time but they are forever my most prized pocessions from GOD!  Thank you Lord for these 3 angels!

Bedtime Stories With Granny

My 3 girls LOVE going to their koong koong and granny’s in Ipoh. When they are back in Ipoh, they are spoilt rotten by the ever indulgent grandparents. My dad, he will bring the girls to buy ice-creams, chocolates, junk food and bring them for walks by the hill side to see the old mother goose (which they love, though they were often chased by it!) monkeys and horses. They look forward to cycling on their bicycles and playing in the wading pool. My mum, she will make them kaya, jams, bread, pies, cakes, cookies and do many fun activities with them. One of the activities is reading bedtime stories.

They love being in Ipoh so much that they refused to follow us to Penang during the school holidays recently. My hubs, mum and I had to persuade and bribe Alycia to follow us to Penang!

A tender moment – my mum reading a story book to the girls before bedtime.

Raring To Go

These pix were taken inside the lift of our condo, on the day we left KL for Ipoh. The girls had waited for this moment for days.  They waited for daddy the whole day to come back from the office to start the journey and made more than 10 calls to daddy on his handphone to hurry him up.

My princess wannabe who is forever the vain pot packed this bag full of her hair accessories, necklace and her paraphernalia. We told her not to bring the bag as our car boot was already full to the brim but she was steadfast with her wish.  She was in tears when we forebade her from bringing this bulky vanity bag along. I can imagine her bringing along a huge suitcase filled with her vanity stuff 10 years down the road!! Daddy better save up some money to buy a bigger car LOL!

Dancing Girls

2 Sundays ago, Sherilyn went for her mock ballet exam. On that Sunday, we were earlier invited by Jasmine to attend Shan Rae’s 2nd birthday party.  Too bad we could not attend. Shan Rae and Baby C share the same birthdate, i.e. 9 April 2008! It’s quite rare to find someone who shares the same birthday as you eh?

Here’s my Princess Wannabe in her ballet costume, with her hair tied up in a bun. The first time I tied a bun was exactly a year ago… for Alycia who had to sit for her mock ballet exam. After the exam, she quit ballet. Her interest in ballet waned a few months into ballet class.

Instead, Alycia prefers hip hop dance and can move and gyrate her body pretty well too 😀

Both Alycia and Sherilyn can do ballroom dancing pretty well too…. the cincai, free-style ballroom dance that is 😀

Very soon, Baby will join her jie jies in the dance….

9 Fish Heads For 3 Little Hungry Kids

My mil fried 9 fish heads and made a small pot of soup with veggie the other day. Later, she fished out the 9 fish heads to debone them. My 3 rascals saw mah mah with the big plate of fish heads. One by one they lined up to be fed with fish with a pair of chopsticks, just like 3 little kittens waiting for fish from their master muahahahahaha, I think they looked too cute!!

It’s funny that something so bland will taste so good IF you have to fight to eat it! Put 9 long fried fish on the plate and I’m quite certain they would not fight for the fish.

What The Gals Have Been Up To This School Hols

We were supposed to make a trip back to Ipoh early this week but had to call it off when Baby’s urine looked very suspicious of an impending UTI. Thank God, her pee looks clearer since yesterday. You can hop over to my health blog to read more about what I have been feeding her to clear her urine.

As for my 2 older girls, especially Alycia, I give them Math sums to practise everyday. Alycia has to practise her Ejaan and Ting Xie for next week. I am also making her memorize multiplication by 5 so that she knows how to tell the time. Randomly, I practise sukukata with her. Alycia’s getting lazier during the school hols and I need to scare her / exaggerate a wee bit by telling her that if she fails the Linus exam, she will be put in a special school for the slow learners, which would be very embarassing. My mil has also been coaching the girls Mandarin.

Here, Sherilyn is practising her hairdressing skill on Baby. She would try to practise her coiffuring skill on my hair or Baby’s hair at every chance she could seize! She even put a small blanky on Baby as a makeshift hair saloon drape.

As for Baby, she is getting naughtier and naughtier each day. Her Terrible Twos symptoms are now displayed loud and clear. Thank God I have a helper to help me handle her as she is getting really handful and definitely not easy to manage or to get her to do anything now, especially peeing / poo poo in the potty. In this pic, kakak is blowing a bubble (those gooey liquid that can be blown into a bubble with a short straw) for Baby.  These days,  Kakak has to help me entertain/distract Baby all the time so that I can get some work done on the computer. Otherwise, this baby monkey will climb on table tops, sofa tops and chairs. Just yesterday she fell off the couch and chair twice.

Guess what Alycia found hidden in rascal #2’s school bag? A handful of punched paper wastes! Don’t know why lar she wants to bring those punched papers to school, silly Sherilyn!

The school hols is coming to an end and guess what? I’m glad that it’s going to end soon coz with 3 monkeys at home 24/7, I am going nuts!

My 3 Gals On A Weekend Morning

The only time my 3 gals get to have breakfast together is during the weekends or holidays.

Here they are on a Saturday morning.  Baby was eating her rice bubbles and her 2 jie jies were drinking milk while watching TV.

Have a great weekend everyone.  For those of you who are driving back to your home after the long CNY holidays, please drive safely.  Have a good rest these 2 days before getting serious and all worked up again starting from Monday next week!

I Wan Wear Shoes!

Remember my earlier post on Baby’s new Hello Kitty Crocs that I bought last Friday? She could not wait any further to start wearing her new Hello Kitty Crocs and the next morning, when she saw daddy leaving the house, she ran to the front door, got hold of her Crocs and said “I wan wear shoes, kai kai….”

But she only got to wear her new Crocs on Sunday. Coincidentally the spaghetti strap blouse that she wore matches her new Crocs so well – all the colors on the blouse matched the colors on the Crocs! She was one very very happy girl!

Also check out rascal #2’s original Dora Crocs which cost over a hundred ringgit.  There is now wear and tear on both sides of the shoes and she has only worn it for slightly over a year.  That will definitely be our last time buying original Crocs!

Baby’s Nightly Routine

I think I will have not much problems weaning Baby from co-sleeping with us on our king-sized bed. That’s because she absolutely adores sleeping with her 2 jie jies. Each night before she goes to bed with me, she will run to her jie jies’ bedroom, climb up their beds, pull up their blanky to cover herself and then pretend to sleep.  Alycia would be more than happy to share her squeezy bed with Baby.  She has always pleaded with me to allow Baby to sleep with her.  As for rascal #2, sigh…. this girl, she’s too bossy and I don’t think she’s ready to share her bed with Baby.

I wonder if Baby will wake up in the middle of the night searching for my boops if she sleeps with Alycia.  I think she will.

Outing At KL Times Square

Last Saturday, hubs brought us to Times Square as my parents from Ipoh were here and they have never been to Times Square. We left the house at around 11am and left Times Square at around 4ish pm. It was a day filled with endless fun and thrill for the gals. They had so much fun that they did not even feel hungry and we only had a late lunch at 3pm.

Before we went inside the Cosmo’s World Theme Park, which is the largest indoor theme park in Malaysia, hubs bought some burgers from McDonald’s. We were prohibited from bringing outside food into the theme park, so we had to gobble them up before entrance. Rascal #2 refused to eat. Let’s see what happened to her at the end of our outing at Times Square.

Let me tell ya, Cosmo’s World is huge, really huge and the rides are awesome, especially the rides for adults.  I was really tempted to sit on the roller coaster and the almost 3 to 4-storey high dunno what you call it ride that’s rectangular and goes up and down in a criss-cross motion.  I think I can overcome my Acrophobia (fear of heights) but I can’t control of what goes inside me when I am being tossed and turned upside down continuously for a freaking 10 minutes or more, coz I am one who gets dizzy and nauseous very easily. My almost 70-year old dad went on the roller coaster ride himself though hahaha… papa, you’re really sporting!

The scary ride I was talking about is at the far back.  I think it’s called Spinning RBIT.  Passengers are seated inside the 2 long rectangular bars that will spin up and down.

Part of the huge Cosmo’s World Theme Park.

Alycia and Sherilyn each won a bear when they successfully rolled a ball onto a jar with a colored lid.

Don’t know what this is called but it’s surely gonna send your adrenalin rushing out. It rotates and swings you up and down 360 degrees, over and over again. I sat on this ride in Goldcoast, Australia many years back. This time round, I gave it a skip and encouraged my maid to have a ride on it.  She’s seated third from the left in this pic. She gladly went but shut her eyes tight throughout the horror ride, muahahahahah!

After the terror rides, we had lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Times Square.  Then we went to the Concourse area of Times Square and snapped pix of the CNY decor, which is a Chinatown theme, iLike, nice!

Ckeck out my health blog to find out what happened to Sherilyn after spending half a day at Times Square.

Our 2010 New Year’s Eve Celebration

We had a very sumptuous BBQ dinner at the poolside of our condo with some close friends last night.

Daddy bought balloons, party hats and party whistles for the kids…

My plate of Wagyu beef and saba fish…

There were lots of delectable grub ranging from Wagyu beef, saba (mackeral) fish, sausages to fettuccine, spaghetti, grilled chicken, fresh shiitake blended mushroom soup, grilled lamb loin, fish and chips, onion rings, french fries, nuggets, salad and much more. Head over to my hubs’ catering blog to view pix of the delectable spread of food.

Baby happily putting her pressies on the chair…

SO much left over food, enough to feed us for another 2-3 days for lunch and dinner!

After dinner, we went up to our unit to count down.  Everyone watched with awe the spectacular display of fireworks at the Dataran Merdeka / KL area from the 5th floor of our unit.  After count down, we had red wine, white wine and champagne whilst the kids played and watched cartoon.  Baby who had missed her afternoon nap dozed off at 10pm during her bath in my arms haha!    Everyone hit the sack at 2ish am and only woke up at 11ish am. I for once woke up at 7am which is considered SOOOOOO late. I’m just not used to seeing a brightly lit sky when I open my eyes!

Here’s wishing everyone a very, very happy, blessed, prosperous, smooth sailing 2010!

How did you celebrate your New Year’s Eve?

Haircut For Everyone

Yesterday everyone had a hair cut – Alycia, Sherilyn, Baby, kakak and even moi (my hair cut was an eleventh hour decision though, after my mum kept bugging me to cut my hair at that place. I had wanted to go to a more posh hair saloon). This place that my mum brought us to provides one of the cheapest no-frills hair cut in Ipoh. The saloon owner charges RM5 for kids, RM4 for toddlers and RM10 for adults. All in I only paid RM34 for all of us! Dirt cheap eh? And the hair saloon owner did a pretty good job too. I’m one who is really pernickety when it comes to choosing a hair saloon and I must give her credit for giving me a very nice layered hair cut.

For the first time (she has had 3 hair cuts previously), Baby did not bawl when it was her turn. I guess watching her 2 jie jies and kakak having their hair cut prepared her mentally before it was her turn. When it was finally her turn, she had her 2 doting jie jies comforting her… she was on the verge of crying – her lips started to droop and her eyes started to turn watery too!

Happy Boxing Day everyone! What’s for lunch today? Hmmmm, I’m craving for Chicken Boxing on a Boxing Day haha!

Ipoh and Penang, Here We Come!

For the past few days, Alycia has been unable to contain her excitement that we are finally going to Ipoh and then to Penang (staying at the newly opened Hard Rock Hotel YAY!!). She’s been counting down the days.  She and Sher have been discussing what they intend to do in Ipoh with granny and koong koong.  When Sher had a low grade fever several days ago, Alycia was SO paranoia and kept avoiding her sis as she was worried that she would get bitten by the bug too. She even ‘kicked’ her sis out of her bedroom 2 nights ago lol!  But it backfired and she was the one who got kicked out of her room… to mah mah’s room!   Never has she been so diligent in drinking water and eating fruits too lol!

Yesterday, Alycia and Sherilyn were packing their very own backpack – dumping all sorts of stuff in from toys to books and Sherilyn even pulled some tissue papers from the box to chuck into her bag! I am so not going to let them bring their backpack along. As it is now, our 7-seater MPV is going to be stuffed with luggage to the brim. I know hubs will surely shake his head and pass his usual comment when he sees our luggage and paraphernalia all lined up on the floor of the living room, haha! When we return to KL, it’s going to be worse, with all the Ipoh goodies and food stuffed from the floor of the car to the boot. I have suggested to hubs that he would need to fix a storage capsule on top of his car soon hah!

I’ll leave you now with some pix of my 3 angels:

Sherilyn playing with Baby…

My 3 brats having loads of fun, sucking on ice cubes on a sweltering day!

Alycia sharing a light moment with her ‘best friend’!

Stay tuned for our updates in Ipoh and Penang….

I Wan, I Wan…..

Baby’s favorite line these days is “I wan, I wan, I waaaaaaan……”. She says it all the time – when she wants food, when she fights with her jie jies over toys, when she wants to go kai kai and when she wants just about anything. Her latest favorite word is “STOP!” and she says it whenever she’s angry. Just yesterday, she snapped at me and yelled “STOP!” and glared at me fiercely with her eyes wide open when I tried to force her to eat her food during dinner!

See how piteous she looked here.  Daddy was about to leave the house and she ran to the front door bare-footed while holding on to her shoes and said “I wan, I wan, I waaaaan…..”

Daddy’s heart melted…. so he pushed her for a ride on the tricycle….

When her 2 jie jies saw, they too followed suit and joined in the fun.

Monkey See Monkey Do…. Again!

At almost 5 years old, Sherilyn still sucks her thumb! She sucks it when she is bored, when watching the tellie and when she sleeps. Each time we catch her sucking her thumb, we will say “STOP sucking your thumb!”. And each time Baby hears us reprimanding her jie jie, she will deliberately stick her finger / thumb into her mouth too, in a show of defiance.  This little cili padi is now at the stage of showing defiance and testing my patience – you say “don’t do”, she will do it more.  I am going through this phase the third time now and even up until now, my 2 older monkeys are still rebellious at times, especially rascal #2.

See the smug and cheeky look on Baby’s face!  And Sherilyn was so absorbed sucking her thumb while watching tellie that she didn’t even realize I was snapping her malu pix, hahahah!

So song meh suck thumb?    Thank God Baby only does it for fun and not habitually.
