Mad Rush Over :)

The past 1 month high business volume and mad rush to send out my customers’ orders have ended today eeeeeyay!!   Today I finally have the time to sit with my baby girl and teach her how to make paper stars origami.  You see, I have a glass jar of colorful paper stars origami which I made for my  hubs (then boyfriend) 22 years ago! There are over 100 pieces of stars inside the jar but now, I think half the number of stars are gone, no thanks to the 3 curious rascals. They are always very curious to know how those stars are made and often when I am busy with work on my computer, the rascals will pinch a star or two away, unfold the stars and try folding the stars again. Today Baby bugged me to teach her how to make those paper stars but I have totally zilch recollection on how they are made.  So I went straight to You Tube, which now loads at lightning speed, thanks to Unify…. and searched how to make paper stars.  I spent the entire morning making them for Baby, who put them into her little box.  I still have some backlog of personal errands to complete before CNY.  First thing first, I must cash out my money from Western Union, courtesy of payment from Google Adsense. Next, I must go to Ikea to claim my monthly RM150 cash voucher by this Friday… and then submit my January e-job to Ikea.  Today also we finally dismantled the X’mas tree, which should have been kept away since 2 weeks ago.  Next, I have to clear the girls’ wardrobe as well as mine to make space for new ones, lots of them  😀

Our Saturday – 26 November 2011

We spent the whole morning and afternoon at Scott Garden today. First to attend a friend’s daughter’s 1st birthday party, then for shopping at TESCO and then for the girls to play at the theme park and have electronic car and bike rides. The moment I stepped into Tom, Dick and Harry restaurant where the birthday party was, I noticed a familiar face. It was Joanne Tan, my Facebook friend and customer, who is a good friend of Sue Low, also my blog friend and customer… and Sue Low was also there. What a coincidence to have chanced upon 2 friends at another friend’s party LOL!

Here are some snap shots taken today.

At the birthday party @ Tom, Dick and Harry’s

My almost 8-YO girl looking so tall and oversized on this electronic motorbike… she told me that the ride was so b-o-r-i-n-g… as she was raring to lay her hands on the Animal Kaiser machines at the theme park *roll eyes and shake head*

Tiny Ms Rempit. Check out her positioning on the bike, really like a pro Mat Rempit eh? Tee hee hee heee….

After a day’s outing, we reached home to be surprised with some nice smelling butter cakes wafting in the air.   My mil was as usual  baking and cooking in the kitchen. Ah, perfect for tea and we all digged into her hot-from-the-oven butter cake…. and then to a nice pot of homemade delish creamy pumpkin soup (made from 3/4 of a large pumpkin, chicken soup boiled with celery and carrots, ginger and a raw green apple) for dinner, with fried salmon fish and mil’s homecooked food.

Some Updates

I better update my blog before my readers think that something had happened to me or that I have abandoned this blog for good LOL! As usual, life has been on the fast lane for me at gear 5. My hands are really full with my online store and 3 rascals. I shudder to think how the house will be like with 3 restless rascals beginning this Saturday, which is the start of the long school holidays. Today, I spent the entire evening at Ikea. Nope, not for shopping but for a meeting with the Ikea team and advertising agents. I had a great time meeting with the friendly Ikea team members, advertising agents and 9 other bloggers. 10 bloggers, including moi have been appointed to write for Ikea in our blogs for their year-long project. We were taken for a tour of Ikea before being treated for a dinner at Ikea’s cafe. Shall blog about this in my next few posts. For the next 12 months, you will be able to read more about my involvement with Ikea and on Ikea’s innovative and ergonomical products. I am really honored and happy to be selected by Ikea in this fun project. It was great meeting with other bloggers from all walks of life, including a DJ from RED F.M. I have taken loads of pix too. But I really have to hit the sack now. It’s almost 1am now and my eyes are struggling to stay opened.  Good nite peeps… I mean good morning!

Carb Filled Saturday

That’s our bowl of ice kacang from Kopitiam this afternoon. After dropping off Sherilyn for ballet, we killed the time at Kopitiam and did some groceries shopping. We also ordered a bowl of curry noodles and fish head noodles, which we all shared.    Besides, I chomped down a ham and cheese bun bought from my favorite bakery before I gulped down the ice- kacang.  This morning I had kuih for breakfast, a delight that I will indulge in once a week, on a Saturday.  What a carb and junk filled day I’ve had today and I am corroded with guilt now as I was too lazy to hit the gym this morning! Tomorrow will be another day of eating. I must hit the sack now so that I can pull my butt out from bed to work out tomorrow morning!

Have a great Sunday peeps!

Our Weekend

My girls look forward to Saturdays and Sundays as I will bring them to the park in the morning. After jogging and playing in the park, we will walk to the nearby coffee shop to have breakfast, then walk home. After 1-2hours of fun and exercise, I find that their minds are better conditioned to start doing their homework and other academic stuff.

Get, set and go…. with backpack.

Walking at the lobby of our condo.

This morning, we did not go to the park but went for a walk at the jungle trail at our condo compound. While walking, Sherilyn stumbled upon a huge gold fish on the grass and it was dead! We were all very surprised to see a dead gold fish on the grass. Some inconsiderate tenants must have flung their pet fish out of the window, how disgraceful! Anyway, when we walked towards the guardhouse, Baby waved to the guard and announced “hey guard, there’s a dead gold fish over there!!” We all broke out in a guffaw LOL!

Our Pleasant Saturday

It was indeed a very pleasant Saturday for me simply because my prayers were granted. Today we left the house very early for the Immigration Dept. to renew our passports. After we left the Immigration Dept., we went to collect Alycia’s report card. I did not expect to be greeted with such pleasant writings on the report card as I knew that many of Alycia’s classmates are better than her academically. Plus I had not been doing daily revision with her. It was the mere 2-3 hours on the eve of the exam that I did a speedy revision with her. Getting a placement of 5/39 is more than I had expected from my precious baby 🙂 If you have been following my blog, you will know why Alycia is termed as my ‘precious baby’.

Alycia’s teachers have nothing but praises for her, which made my head so heavy I almost tripped and fell when I left the chair muahahahahaha! Alycia’s teachers commented that she should work towards getting into the top class but frankly, I am really not too keen that she be placed in the top class for I know that being labeled as the cream of the crop, the expectations on her will be very high, which will ultimately place a lot of stress on me (albeit not on Alycia who is as cool as a cucumber).

Outside the Immigration Office, after having our pictures snapped…

At American Chilli’s to celebrate Alycia’s victory 🙂

Daddy bought Alycia some Leonida’s chocolates to reward her. Plus he may reward her with an iPad2!

A Busy Week

Have been pretty busy since Sunday – with preparing the girls for their mid-term school exams and with my online store business. Despite the hectic, I brought the girls to my good blogger friends’ kids’ birthday picnic at TTDI park on Sunday to allow the girls some time off to breathe in some fresh air. Thankfully my mum and sil are around to help me coach the girls. Without my mum and sil around, I will surely turn into a headless chicken panicking as both Alycia and Sherilyn’s exams fall on the same dates. I must admit I have not been doing constant revision with my girls everyday and as usual, I normally only spend 1-2 days to do some last-minute revision with them.

Picnic at TTDI Park to celebrate Barb’s Ashley’s and Annie’s Fearles and Cruz’s joint 6th birthday.

During revision, rascal #2 is always full of crafty ideas to stall time and can never sit still for more than 15 minutes.  She’ll walk round the house, pull a high stool to the study table to sit.. with another chair behind the stool…

… put on her rings, pretend to look for her pencils, erasers, sharpen her pencils, say she’s thirsty, hungry, sweaty, cold, blah blah blah, just to avoid doing revision or anything that has to do with her books!!

My Nanny 911 revising with the girls…

To distract Baby from disturbing her 2 jie jies, I let her hog the lappie. This babe is really good with the laptop and knows how to set up the laptop and log on to all her favorite websites on her own!

Busy Week

This week has been an extremely busy week for me. It’s Alycia’s first term exam week. Sherilyn has her spelling, ejaan and ting xie as usual. And business has been pretty good for me for the past 2 weeks. I have been waking up at 5:30am everyday for the past 5 days so that I can wait with Alycia at the lobby for her transporter to pick her up. It is during this 10-minute wait that I will remind her to be careful when she tackles the test papers, to double check her work and to remind her of points that she keeps forgetting. I have been the one who is anxious and kan cheong for Alycia who is sitting for her exam. I feel as if I were the one who’s sitting for the exam LOL!!  Alycia is as cool as a cucumber and has not an ounce of panic or worry in her. She goes on her school day as usual and it is me and my mil who have been busy doing revision with her. After sending her off, I will jog and then work out in the gym and on some days, run to the produce-on-wheels to get some fresh meat and veggie.

Today my 2 suppliers sent me my stock of 3 big bags + 1 box of ladies clothing with over hundred pieces of clothing. I flipped looking at the stock and had to make an SOS call to my friend to come and help me. Thankfully she is a lady of leisure and can come almost anytime to help out.  She is still helping me to perform the QA check now. Tomorrow another box of stock for kids items will reach me. There goes my weekend, sigh…

Notice the hair saloon set in the background? That’s my ‘prize’ from my supplier of kids stuff. I emerged the top 5 best resellers in her shop last year 😀

Do hop over to my online store to see what you can get for yourself 😀

Our Saturday – A Hectic Morning And Bloggers’ Gathering

Yesterday was a hectic day for me. In the morning, I had called the Pos Laju postman to come and collect my customers’ parcels and the postman turned up really early yesterday. I was busy packing the bag to go out when the intercom phone rang. The guard told me that the postman was downstairs. Holy sh*t, like a headless chicken, I quickly summoned by 3 girls to help me with the big bag of parcels as the parcels were all not ready to be sent out yet.

My 3 girls quickly came to muumy’s rescue, with me shouting away, directing them what to do — Alycia to tear the paper off the stickers and stick the dockets onto the flyer bags. Sherilyn to help me separate the consignment notes and Baby to help me throw the papers away.  That’s one of the moments I was thankful to have 3 girls!! I also had to seal a few more parcels — last minute ones as I had to rush out everything so that my customers could get their parcels before CNY. When the postman arrived, we were still busy working. The postman had to stand outside the door for 15 minutes and watched us work like some factory workers rushing to meet an important deadline.  Phew, I could feel my migrane knocking on my head as I worked LOL!!

After we were done with the parcels, I quickly prepared my girls for a bloggers’ gathering at Kids’ Zone @ Hartamas Shopping Centre. The main purpose of the gathering was to meet up Chew Lee who had just come back from Germany for a few weeks.  Can you recognize who’s who here?

After the gathering, we had lunch at Rakuzen Japanese Restaurant. And then we had Moo Moo Cow natural yoghurt for dessert.

After desserts, we went to Mercato to shop for some groceries. As we were about to leave the mall, we saw the Lion Dance troop outside the mall. There was a spectacular dance by a ‘pien mien’ Chinese dancer. A pien mien dancer can change its face color at lightning speed throughout the dance by tapping on a special device which changes the face mask.  It was the first time I saw a life ‘pien mien’ dancer perform.  After the pien mien dance, there was a breathtaking lion dance performance where we saw the ‘lion’ jumped up the poles to dance on the poles.

Baby screamed when she saw the pien mien dancer. Behind the ‘pien mien’ hideous looking dunno man / woman, when the multi-tiered mask was removed, everyone’s jaw dropped. She has such a beautiful face, svelte figure, fair skin, perfect pearly whites and long curly hair!

We reached home at about 4ish pm and some close family friends came to visit us. Later, we went out for dinner with our friends. What a tiring day it was for us all yesterday.  And while my little ones were in slumberland at night, I still had to slog in front of my PC to clear my work and trying to force my eyes to open up.

My Saturday

After a hectic day of purging out 4 long online assignments with 1 more to go (not the easy to write 60 words ones ok!), processed 10 orders from my online store today, coached Alycia in her revision (1 more week to her first term exam – STERESSSSS!), entertained my boobs-addict 2yo toddler, put them all to sleep and all that jazz that a mother has to do, I finally have the time to do what I love to do – to update my beloved blogs with personal posts. I really find that it is very therapetic to update my blogs with my personal posts haha! Paid ones are kinda stressful coz I am not one who likes to crap and talk c**k though I can really crap if I want to….. IF my blog remains anonymous with no pix of my kids muahahahahah!!

I have been popping Panadol Actifast to help keep the crappy pain in my throat, neck and head at bay. My phlegm is still greenish but I believe I can heal myself without the use of antibiotics coz I have done it before, albeit it will take a little longer. I don’t believe in antibiotics. I think antibiotics will only weaken the body and cause the body to be resistant to it coz I am speaking from experience, especially with Baby who was on oral antibiotics for 14 months of her life.

I have lots more to talk about now that I have peace and serenity surrounding me – all 3 kids are asleep BUT I really have to end now. I have a bunch of invoice to issue to my customers, issue some emails to my supplier and customers and I have to crack my head to write another online assignment, sienz… but I shouldn’t complain. I am dealing with $$$ here!

Have a great Sunday everyone. Shall post pix tomorrow. Let me settle my wan cheen matters first k?

My Wednesday

Today has been a very busy day for me. Here’s what I was up to:

1) Spent several hours in the bank in the morning. First to cash out my Google Adsense earnings from Western Union, then bank in the kids’ ang pow money, put some stuff into the Safe Deposit Box and to make payments.

2) Then went to the Indian restaurant next to the bank for brunch. The gals enjoyed their roti canai and Baby loved Roti Tisu. It was her first time eating the crispy and sweet Roti Tisu.

3) I got home late and missed the Pos Laju delivery guy, big bummer. I was expecting my batch of clothes from my supplier. Tomorrow the hubs has to collect the parcel from the post office.

4) Rushed off 9 online assignments from my favorite advertiser like a mad woman. I tell yer, I had to put on my thinking cap, prayed for ideas to write and hurriedly rushed off the 9 assignments in under an hour when Baby napped in the afternoon.

5) Kept feeding Baby with fluids and bringing her to pee in the potty. I thank God that Baby’s pee looked clear today – no more foul smell and no more cloudy. Am still praying that the foul smell / cloudiness will not come back. It can come back anytime and I have to be extra diligent / persistant in feeding her fluids and bringing her to pee. Yesterday the smell and color of the pee were pretty bad. I shall blog about what I did and what I fed Baby in my health blog.

6) Busy with my blogshop – orders and other matters.

7) Cleared off some of my mountain-high pile of documents meant for filing (personal, kids, house and business). I better do, else the hubs will keep nagging at me and complain that I don’t file my documents. He can be such a good nagger!

Big sigh…. my head is spinning now. Alycia and Sherilyn and mil are having their dinner now and I am sitting here typing this post. I better fix Baby her dinner, feed her, eat my dinner, get the kids to shower, spoon feed Baby her formula milk, put her to sleep and then hoi koong (start work) again. Sigh… what a life!

My Friday

It has been a very hectic week for me. This afternoon, I was at the paed’s clinic at PMC with Baby. Her pee smelled a tad foul today and there was a tiny red patch on her down under. You can read more about this in my health blog. I will update it later tonight or tomorrow. I have been forcing Baby to drink lots of barley water, coconut water and Refresh (E.Excel) the whole day today. She’s been drinking water like a camel today and her pee is becoming clearer too with all the water pumped into her body. Hopefully she’ll be A-ok, otherwise we will have to make a trip to Penang during the school hols to pay a visit to Baby’s surgeon.

My 2 batches of stock arrived yesterday. Tomorrow there will be another batch of clothes arriving. Here’re just a few of the items. You can hop over to Old And New Stuff For Sale to have a look at the new products.

This purple sleeveless dress is really pretty – can be worn to the office with a jacket over or to a dinner.

This black and white dress is perfect for the office.

This pretty off-shouldered layered dress can also be worn to the office with a jacket over or to a party.

This V-neck Bohemian dress can be worn with an inner tube and is ideal for weekend wear or even to the office, with a jacket over.

If you have any old or new stuff that you want to sell, you can sell them at Malaysia’s eBay – my blogshop 😀  Just snap some pix of your stuff, write a description of the stuff and email me.  I am still waiving the listing fee for your advertisement for the time being.

Have a great weekend peeps and happy school holidays to all you parents.

Our Friday

Just a short post to update what we have been up to today. Today is a public holiday and we were all at Jacss’ house to have a CNY bloggers’ gathering cum baby Stuart’s informal fullmoon party.

Which blogger was there:
1)  Paik Ling and Bryan
2)  Joanne Soo and her 2 kids … first time meeting this pretty mummy and her pretty daughter.  She has always kept me in suspense as she has never shown her pix or her kids’ pix in her blogs.
3) Peggy (Laundry Amah) and her 2 kids
4) Chin Nee, hubby, maid and her 3 kids
5) Channel and her 2 kids
6) Leng Lui Wendy Lim and her 2 kids
7) Irene Low, hubby and Krystle
8) Health Freak Mommy, hubs, maid and 3 kids
9) All Things Purple’s Christene (didn’t get to meet her as she came much later and I had left).

Thankfully Jacss’ lovely abode was big enough to house all the bloggers, their spouses, maids and noisy kids. I had a bowl each of the mouth watering kai jau (chicken cooked with wine) and jui keok choa (pig’s trotters cooked in black vinegar) and gosh, they were SO good. I wanted to help myself to more but my head started to feel heavy after gulping down the bowl of wine haha!! I’m a lousy boozer, will turn red, nauseous and woozy even after a few sips of alcohol.

Sorry no pix to show as I was too busy yakking with the group of leng lui see lais and I was pretty much in a hurry to leave coz hubs has been very busy with work these past few days and had to go back to his office.

Oh yeah, I slept in until 6:45am today, which is quite rare.  I normally rise by 5:45am. I’ve been severely sleep deprieved lately and was too lazy to pull myself out of bed today.  Nevertheless, I still went jogging, with Baby in her stroller in toll.

How did you spend your holiday today?

Our First Monday In The Year 2010

Not exactly a good way to begin my new year on the first Monday of the year. I woke up at 5:30am with a nagging discomfort in my abdomen area. Felt like pooing and felt nauseous. Since 5:30am, I have been purging more than 10x up until now. It must be something that I ate at the Le Meridien Hotel buffet over lunch yesterday, either the raw sashimi or the cendol. On a bright side, my weight has dropped from 46kg to 45kg since there’s almost nothing left in my guts 😀

Alycia woke up at 6am and I managed to get her ready by 6:40am. She’s quite independent and disciplined, unlike rascal #2. Everything went smoothly on her official first day at school (she had 2 days of orientation in school last week). But her teacher still thinks her hair was too long for the school’s standard (blah!) and told her to either cut it short or tie a bun (for Pete’s sake, how to tie a bun with such short hair?!). I chose the former and daddy brought her to have her hair trimmed. She’s now sulking over her short hair, me inclusive!!

Rascal #2 did pretty well in school. I hardly have to worry if she’ll cry in school coz she’s a social butterfly, ever so cheerful and happy and she even cheered up her new weepy classmates last year.

As for Baby, I am really upset that she has a bladder infection. Her pee smelled a tad foul and looked cloudy since yesterday afternoon. I texted my surgeon and he suggested that I sent her pee for a test. The initial urine FEME test showed a WBC of 16-18. I am still hoping that her body can flush out the bacteria on its own without the need for antibiotics. The surgeon and I are equally perplexed as to why this is happening as the MCUG scan showed she has no more kidney reflux and the ultrasound scan done recently looked good too. This is her first UTI after her surgeries more than 6 months ago. I suspect that it’s caused by her swimming in the Hard Rock Hotel Penang pool 2 weeks ago. You know how much bacteria is teeming in a public pool, moreover the pool was flooded with people.

Alycia with Baby at Le Meridien yesterday. Baby was sucking on a wedge of lemon.

How was your first Monday of the year?

Alycia’s Orientation In School

Today is Alycia’s first orientation in school. Her school has a 2-day orientation program for Primary 1 students and she’s now in school with daddy. For the first time, Alycia donned on the blue pinafore and white shirt today, complete with white socks and white school shoes.

I had wanted to work out in the gym at 6:45am so that I could be back by 7:15am to prepare Alycia for school but dunno what’s with Baby and she woke up together with me. I could not nurse her back to sleep, so she went to her jie jies’ bedroom, climbed up the bed and woke her jie jie up for me at 6:45am. Whenever it’s Baby who wakes her jie jies up, they will have no problem waking up coz my 2 older gals dot on their baby sister very much.

After Alycia left for school with daddy, I brought rascal #2 and #3 for a long walk to a nearby mobile market van to buy some veggie and meat. Our fridge is bare and I needed to stock it up, after being away for 2 weeks.

The hubs had just called me to inform me that the orientation is frigging boring for him. He is now out from the hall for a breather. Nonetheless, he is really impressed with the school. Each classroom is air-conditioned and is fitted with an LCD projecter! Thus, each student is charged RM10 each month to contribute to the costs of the facilities.

This is Alycia’s new Mickey Mouse trolley school bag, all ready to be stuffed with school books. I can imagine how stuffed and heavy her school bag would be, knowing how torturous Chinese schools are.

And this is her new set of Disney stationery set which koo mar bought from Hong Kong.

The color pencils/magic color pens/crayons are encased in a sleek stainless steel bag…

I think Alycia will grow up to be really good in art and drawing just like her daddy. She loves drawing and coloring more than anything else.

Our Saturday Morning

Saturdays are usually a marketing day for my mil. Last Saturday, hubby brought his mum to the S17 wet market. Sometimes she goes to the SS2 market but she prefers the S17 market as the perishables are cheaper there. After shopping for perishables at S17 market, hubby drove to the SS2 market, just to get me my favorite kaya swiss roll which is only available at the SS2 market coz I have been badgering him and my mil to get them for me for months.

Alycia and Sherilyn also followed daddy and mah mah to the market. Better for me as I need a respite from them for a few hours during the school hols. I’ll really go cuckoo facing my 3 kids 24 hours a day 7/7!

Here you go, the fluffy, soft and flavorful swiss rolls with delish kaya slathered in the middle (in the styrofoam take-away boxes) from the SS2 market.  The swiss roll in the plastic take-away box is from another shop and is not as tasty.

I tend to have a weakness when it comes to certain food and this kaya swiss roll is one of my ‘vices’, apart from breads and biscuits. I can chomp down 2-3 slices of swiss roll at one go I tell ya!

Alycia asked daddy to buy her a huge tau sar pau (pau filled with sweetened black beans).

This brat pulak had a bizarre idea when she saw a lady selling flowers and asked daddy to buy her flowers! She said the flowers looked so pretty and she wanted some! Daddy the ever yes-man to his angels of course obliged and bought her a bunch of these flowers. Both of them got a long nagging from me when they came home. I was really enraged that this yes-man daddy spent RM7 for a bunch of flowers!
