I Am Going To Melt!

As I am typing this post, the girls are now at the pool, attending swimming lesson.  Today has been an exceptionally hot and humid day. You can see from the picture that the temperature is 35 degrees Celsius.  I do not even feel like sitting under the cabana to watch them swim.  I am already sweating profusely  sitting under the fan and packing my customers’ parcels. If I sit under the cabana in such sweltering weather, I’ll definitely melt like a block of butter! Eeeesh, hate the itchiness all over my body now.  I tend to have heat itch whenever the temperature goes up.  I think I better come up with a migration plan to migrate to some cold countries!

Hot Hot Day Again

Today is another skin grilling, super hot, hazy and humid day.  A 15-minute laundry hanging at my balcony at 10am, with streaks of burning hot sun rays roasting my skin all over made me perspire as if I had spent half an hour in the sauna, I kid you not.  Yesterday I looked at myself in the mirror and realized that I’ve got a tan on my face and arms! In half an hour’s time, I have to pick up Cass from the kindy. I am still thinking if I should sweat it out and brave for a headache after a 5-minute walk to the kindy or just drive there?!  Aaargh,  I just hate this weather!!

Burning hot at 34 degrees Celsius at 10ish am.. I hope the temperature will not shoot up to 38 degrees again in the afternoon!

My Monday – 20 May 2013

This week is bound to be a nail-bitting 4 days for me from today through Thursday. My 3 daughters will bring home their Mid-Term test papers for me to sign. I think Alycia is going to be A-OK with her overall results. I have no idea how Sherilyn and Cass have fared.  While Sherilyn is a pretty street smart girl who always gets what she wants through her own crafty ways, she however tends to have not much priority placed in academics. As for Cass, it is still a little early to tell but I think she is in between her 2 sisters.  I know it is pointless to worry now as what’s done is done and there is no turning back. But still, I am ANXIOUS!  After the 2 weeks school holiday, which will begin this Friday, it will be the much dreaded anticipated once-yearly report card collection and meet-the-teachers day at Alycia and Sherilyn’s school.  I am already getting a headache just by typing this post, pass me the minyak angin someone! 😀

After this 4 jittery days for me, I can get to enjoy the school holidays and catch up on my beauty sleep!  We are checking into a 5-star hotel on Sunday to utilize the free hotel room stay that the hubs gets with his membership with the hotel.  And next week, we will be heading back to Ipoh to bond with my parents and to binge savor some of the tastiest street food in the world!

Did I tell you that just last week, I turned down an opportunity of a life time from Disney for a FREE 3-day 2-night stay to Hong Kong Disneyland for 2 adults and 3 kiddos in return for some blog posts and postings in my Facebook page? It would be a work cum holiday for me.  I am kind of regretting it now but well, if it’s mine, opportunity will still knock again on my door and if Disney is kind enough to accede to my request, I will accept the December free trip, that is IF they knock on my door again.

Happy 520 everyone and I hope you are not as gloomy as the weather is today 😉

Our Saturday – 27 April 2013 And The Election Campaign Fever

Today is a school-going day for Alycia and Sherilyn. It is a replacement school day for the holiday given on Qing Ming (All Souls Day) 2 weeks ago.  Everyone at home was up at 5:45am today — while Alycia and Sherilyn were getting themselves ready, the MIL’s iPad buzzed as she had a Skype video call from her youngest daughter who lives in Hawaii.  So the MIL and the 3 girls chatted with koo koo  and me, I was busy as usual getting some house chores done before rushing Aly and Sher down to catch the school van.

After my morning exercise, the hubs tied Cass’ hair while I had my shower. And off we went to the nearby coffee shop for breakkie.

Someone’s beer belly has shrunk!! Can you see in the picture?  So glad that he finally had the determination to go all out to shed the pounds by working really hard in the gym and donning on his Speedo mens swimwear to swim laps at the pool!

From the outside of the coffee shop, we saw an entourage of people donning on red uniforms and paparazzis with huge cameras.   We could already guess that it was some MPs making their rounds to mingle with the Rakyat.

Can you spot Teresa Kok in pink? She was distributing her Party’s bulletin and rooting for support.

Teresa Kok was walking from table to table with her supporters holding a box to collect donation.  One of her supporters gave Cass this …

Miniature doll fighters…. fighting for Teresa Kok!

… and she asked if we would like to take pix with Teresa.  I politely declined as I did not want our photo to appear in the newspapers since the paparazzis were following her as she took pix with the patrons at the coffee shop.   I can’t wait for the election to be over.  Everyday, my Facebook wall is flooded with news, party war and gossips on GE13.  Every Tom, Dick and Harry is talking about it. My friends and the hubs’ friends are all talking about it. Some are hard core supporters with flags and banners hung all over their house compounds.  Even kids are talking about it and seem to be very savvy about what’s going on. Even Alycia and her classmates are talking about GE13 as one of her classmates is the son of a prominent Datuk who is an MP… and this classmate has been telling Alycia and his friends about his worry should his father lose in the election *facepalm*!!

Our Tuesday – 9 April 2013

Today after my ‘refresher driving lesson’ with hubs, I told him that we should avoid having another fattening breakfast.  I’ve had enough of pastries and sausages from Ficelle for the past one week and I certainly did not want to eat noodles, rice or any carbs.  So after dropping off Cass in school, we stopped at the fruits shop.  He ordered a freshly blended juice while I ordered a whole coconut.  I had eaten fruits at home earlier in the morning.

After our fruit juice breakfast, we walked to the bakery to get her a cake for her birthday celebration  in school later.

When everyone was singing the “Happy Birthday” song to Cass, her expression suddenly turned from happy to one that was on the brink of crying! And she covered her mouth with her palm as if to stifle an outburst of emotions, just like how those beauty queens normally react when they are announced the winner. I thought she was really going to tear but thank God, she soon smiled again when daddy asked her to cut the cake LOL! After school, I asked her if she almost wanted to cry during the celebration in school and she said YES! I asked her if she was overcome with emotions and joy and she said YES! I told her that it is normal to feel this way and then I told her about her birth story and that I also teared when I heard her first cries in the OT exactly 5 years ago today!

Tonight, to make this feel like her day, I will be ordering pizzas to be delivered to our place for dinner. I pray to God that He will bestow my baby girl with good health, happiness and wisdom always.

Happy birthday baby girl! You’ve certainly come a long way to reach this day and I pray that your subsequent birthdays will be filled with happiness and good health too.

The Girls Helped To Make Buckwheat Noodles

Last Saturday, grandma wanted to make buckwheat noodles (from scratch) for lunch.  With under 1 hour to knead the dough, cut the dough into strips, prepare the anchovies soup and all, so that rascal #2 could eat her lunch on time before going for ballet class, everyone stopped what they were doing to lend a helping hand in the kitchen.

And so, here are the 3 little helpers at work… one was kneading the dough, one was cutting the dough into strips and another was messing up trying to help.

We all enjoyed our bowl of buckwheat noodles with anchovies soup and an assortment of balls but the entire kitchen floor and kitchen tops were scattered with flour and dough!

Our Saturday – 9 March 2013

It’s an outing day for us today as Alycia’s 1st term exam is over, yipeeee!!

In the morning, we went jogging.   And in this picture, we were waiting for daddy to pick us up to send Sherilyn for her ballet class.

After sending Sherilyn for ballet, we had a second round of light lunch at Ficelle Boulangerie & Patisserie. Daddy ordered pizzas, pasta, croissants, sandwiches, orange juice and desserts.

This little rat is such a big eater with an insatiable appetite. She had a very heavy breakfast of char koay teow and grandma’s homemade red wine cranberry walnut bread, a big bowl of homecooked fried vermicelli for lunch and at 2pm, she ate the biggest portion of sandwiches and pasta!!

For dinner, the girls have all seconded my suggestion to try out a new steamboat restaurant. What a lovely Saturday this has been.  Here’s wishing everyone a very happy weekend!

Our 2013 Valentines Day

Today the mil and the hubs’ aunt brought Alycia and Sherilyn to Mid Valley Megamall for lunch and shopping.  Hubs was at a client’s function and so could not bring them out. And I was just too lazy to go out as we have been going out almost everyday during the CNY holiday. I just wanted to stay home and like what Cass said, “enjoy some peace” lol! To Cass, peace means having the whole lappie all to herself and doing whatever she wants with the lappie and no fighting with her 2 sisters 😀

Since there was no left over dishes in the fridge, I cooked instant noodles for lunch for Cass and myself… a healthy bowl of instant noodles that is, without any seasoning or soy sauce… just 2 pinches of pink sea salt, pepper and sesame seed oil. The rest of the flavor in the soup comes from 2 pieces of chicken drumsticks, some fresh Eryngii mushrooms, 2 ripened tomatoes, 2 baby sweet corns and 3 eggs. I used the rectangular dried instant noodles packed without any seasoning.

This is all for Cass and she was so glad too that she need not have to fight with her 2 sisters for the noodles!

Tonight we are having homecooked dinner at home and I think the hubs will be home with a cake as usual, just for his 3 angels to have a cake blowing, cutting and photography session for our album.  I doubt my man will surprise me with a gift since he’s just given me a X’mas pressie and next month will be my birthday.

Our Saturday – 19 Jan 2013

There is a carnival organized by our condo committee members today for the residents to mingle with one another.  Alycia and Sherilyn took part in the treasure hunt at the big pool just now and as I am typing this post, they are now having a shower before we go down to have a party at the pool-side.

Alycia (in orange, yellow swimsuit) and Sherilyn (in pink grey swimsuit) moments before they dived into the pool in search of treasure…. but they found no treasure. Well, actually Alycia picked up a coin but it slipped away from her hand o_O  The pool is too wide and the coins were too few and scattered. Moreover, Alycia and Sherilyn ain’t very good swimmers, thus their failure in getting any coins.  With weekly swimming lessons recently resumed, Alycia vowed to get some treasure next year and also to take part in the swimming competition.

Cass helping herself to popcorns while waiting for all the swimming events to finish.

Cass and Sherilyn with their Japanese friend, Hidomi.

Happy weekend everyone! 🙂

Eve Of X’mas Eve – 23 Dec 2012

On the eve of X’mas Eve 2012, we had planned to go to Ikea to get some stuff for our little nest.  The kids wanted to eat at the Ikea Cafe too BUT when we saw the crazy crowd at the entire Ikea, we detoured and walked across to The Curve. It was only 10ish am but the crowd was horrendous!

As we were all famished, we headed to Marche The Market Place @ The Curve as the place was not too packed and we needn’t have to wait too long for food to be served.

After lunch, we went for a movie and watched Hobbit, The Unexpected Journey. Actually I find spending 2 hours in the cinema pretty boring and a waste of time as I am no big fan of movies.   I’d rather go shopping but since I knew the hubs could not handle the 3 girls all by himself, I had to force myself to enjoy the movie as well.  However, when the ticketing staff told me that the duration of the movie was 3 hours, I flipped and told the hubs that I will definitely snooze off during the movie LOL! And I was surprised that I only dozed off for about 10 minutes and not the entire 3 hours as the movie was indeed very interesting, packed with colorful characters, plenty of action and has plenty of gorgeous settings.

The Hobbit, The Unexpected Journey is a movie that establishes the origin point for the events leading up to the Lord Of The Rings. It tells how and where the Ring originated from. And I think there is definitely going to be a sequel to The Hobbit as the ending seems truncated.

This year, our X’mas tree came at a very, very late timing. The hubs who has been terribly busy with his new F&B projects in addition to his catering business only managed to squeeze out some time to ferry the X’mas tree back from his office late last night.  The girls helped him to assemble the tree and decorated the tree till way past midnight.

Here’s wishing all my readers, family and friends a very merry X’mas.  Well, I am glad that the world did not end just yet. It is the beginning of another exciting year for us all 🙂

Busy And Bored

School holidays are here and I am even busier than school-going days. When the kids are at home 24/7, I have NO me time.  They sleep late and wake up early too, especially Cass.  I cannot even go jogging early in the morning as Cass wakes up at 7am.  I have to wail till the MIL returns from swimming or the gym before  I get to go  and it would already be around 8ish am, during which time the hot morning sun is out, thus making jogging not favorable anymore.  Then the kids have a really LONG breakfast, chatting and enjoying their food while reading the newspapers.  It is difficult to concentrate in my work when it is too noisy at home, with the kids fighting, bickering and getting mischievous all the time.   As I am typing this post, I have a heap of newly arrived stock next to me, waiting to be checked, packed and sent out.

Our holiday only begins in 2 weeks when we make our ‘yearly pilgrimage’ up North to my parents and then to GMC Penang for Cass’ yearly ultrasound scan and appointment with the surgeon. Hubs has been super busy with his latest project and we hardly see him these days and this will go on until his partner comes back from overseas in 2 weeks. So  the kids and I are pretty bored and all cooped up at home.

How have your school holidays been?

Short Getaway

We will be away at a 5-star hotel  in town today, for a short getaway.   I spent the entire morning packing, cleaning the house and dishing out the filler posts for the 21 online assignments that I received 2 days ago.  I spent the past 2 days squeezing my brain for ideas on what to write.  In total, I had to dish up 21 paid posts and 17 filler posts (non-paid posts), which totals up to 38 posts in 2 days!   Sometimes I wonder how I do it, on top of work from my online store and household chores.  Anyway, I will spend the next 2 days almost free from the internet and will catch up on my beauty sleep 😉

Happy holidays peeps!

Our Weekend

I spent my Saturday afternoon doing some light revision with Alycia and Sherilyn as the both of them will be sitting for their final exam soon.  It really ain’t easy to give equal attention to both of them and I have to admit that I am giving more attention to Alycia as what’s in her syllabus is tougher than Sherilyn’s.  Really feeling guilty about it but like I said, it is not easy to divide myself into two equally.  I shudder to think about the pre-exam period for next year as Cass will have to sit for exams twice a year too.

Our dining cum study table.  To keep Cass from disturbing, I have to let the iPad and laptop occupy her.   I am seated on my OTO portable massage chair to have a good body massage while I attend to the girls.  Most times, I fall asleep mid-way talking to the girls as it’s just too comfy on that chair haha!!

On Sunday, we had lunch at Village Duck @ Bangsar Village after church. The hubs bought some cupcakes from Bisou Bake Shop. He was actually attracted to this rainbow cup cake but bought 5 other cup cakes of different flavors as there was a promotion going on (buy 5 free 1 or was it buy 4 free 1? ).  That’s just one of his weaknesses.  He gets all high whenever he sees pretty cupcakes and doughnuts and would surely succumb to his weakness and the problem with him is that he rarely eats them. So his angels and I have to sort of ‘force’ ourselves to indulge in ‘sins’, else they will all go to the bin after a few days sitting in the fridge.  When our live-in maid was still around, she would be the beneficiary of  these goodies as we share everything with her.

This sinful rainbow from Bisou is very rich, buttery and delish. But the layers of bright colors may shun many health freak parents away.

I have to put this on record too.  Whilst we were at Bangsar Village, I chanced upon my very first supervisor whom I have not met for 16 years!  I reported to her when I first worked in Southern Bank (now CIMB).   She spotted me and for a moment, I had no frigging idea who she was.  Moments later at the exact same spot that I was talking to my ex colleague, another stranger called out my name and introduced herself.  She is one of my blog readers and she recognized my girls.  I was telling my hubs that some kind of chance meeting wind must have swept past me yesterday.

A Lovely Saturday Morning

This is a back-dated post.  I only found the time to upload the bunch of pix from my camera this morning when all 3 rascals were in school.

This big, round and pink sun greeted me good morning when I stepped into the balcony to hang the laundry at 8am on a Saturday morning. Everyone else in the house was still in their dreams but I was up at 5:30am to start the day. What to do, no maid. Even if I were to stay longer in bed, my mind will be wandering outside of the bedroom, worrying about the load of dirty clothes, the dusty floor and my customers’ orders. Nonetheless, house work is not all that bad. Engaging in house work is a sure good way of burning the calories. I hardly have the time to exercise on Saturdays and Sundays ever since our live-in maid left  as the part-time maids do not come during the weekends. This is what motivates me to mop the floor and scrub the toilet bowls 😀

Here’s wishing everyone a great weekend and TGIF! I’ll be off to Cass’ school lantern party in an hour’s time.  My 3 girls look forward to this party every year in September.

Happy Friday :)

A customer made my day today! Just a moment ago, she PMed me in FB telling me that she had received her parcel and was very very pleased with the clothes. She told me that I had brightened her day and commented that the ladies clothes and kids clothes were “super duper nice” Such heartwarming words to read! She is my customer turned cyber friend.

2 days ago, I received a Mother’s Day card from my blog reader turned customer turned cyber friend. I was indeed caught by surprise to have received the beautifully crafted hand-made card by snail mail some more! I shall post pix of the card tomorrow.

I hope your Friday is just as pleasant as mine. Happy weekend everyone and Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there. Enjoy your very special Sunday. For us, it will be a revision week-end.  Stressful for me and for the kids.  I am sacrificing my Mother’s Day outing to guide Alycia and Sherilyn in their mid-term exam revision.  To be able to see good marks on their test papers will be the best Mother’s Day gift for me!

Our Saturday – 25 February 2012

Today Sherilyn was green with envy when we went to KLCC without her. We did not leave her out intentionally. It’s just that her ballet class clashed with Alycia’s first appointment with the Orthodontist and she must not miss the class as she is sitting for her Primary 1 ballet exam very soon.   After the doctor’s appointment, we went to KLCC as hubs needed to meet up with his Japanese chef friend at Chinoz, KLCC for some business talk. So Alycia, Baby and I tagged along and had a sumptuous light meal of sashimi and sushi for tea. During the time we were at KLCC, Sherilyn called her daddy and me on the mobile phone over 7 times till we had to hang up on her as she was merely adding up to the phone bill.

After the tea cum appointment at Chinoz, we went to the supermarket at Isetan. There was an on-going Japanese food fair there and boy, Alycia and Sherilyn enjoyed themselves to the max going from booth to booth sampling free juice, smoothies, Japanese snacks and Japanese Udon! I shall post pix of those mouth watering Japanese snacks in the Japanese food fair in my blogspot blog tomorrow. I really need to hit the sack now. I am drop dead tired and my brain is almost shutting down now! I need to wake up early tomorrow to run off those calories I had piled up today and to prepare Sherilyn for her trial ballet exam tomorrow.  Nite nite and happy Sunday peeps!
