Half A Year Has Gone

I just realized that today is 30th June, which means that exactly half a year has flown passed us, in what seemed like a blink of an eye.  I remember very vividly ushering in the new year and celebrating the New Year’s Eve at Pavillion and staying a night at Sheraton Imperial Hotel with hubby, Alycia, Sherilyn and Su (my previous maid).  We had a great view of the spectacular fireworks  set out at the Merdeka Square and KLCC at 12 midnight from our hotel room.  I was 6 months+ preggers then.  Now, here I am with another baby, who is 2 months+ and half a year has gone.  Time really flies and without realizing it, I will be ushering in another new year.  My New Year Resolution is still not achieved yet and today, I realized that I have to set my mind to work towards it.

What about you?  Have you met your New Year Resolution yet?

Hot, Hot Day

The weather has been incredibly hot and humid lately.  With the confinement food that I am eating, I am sweating profusely.  I even sweat the moment I step out from the bathroom.  I have a hard time nursing Baby C during the day coz after nursing her, both of us will sweat….. and we don’t have an air-conditioner in our living room.   I hate it that Baby C smells of my CL coz when she carries Baby C, her sweat touches Baby C’s head and sometimes she puts her face next to Baby C’s.

It’s so hot that not only I have to bathe twice a day, even Baby C bathes twice a day.   Poor Baby C’s face now has a rash flare up due to the hot weather (or maybe due to my CL’s unhygienic way of handling her).

Baby C  even knows how to whine between 8pm-9pm everyday for me to bring her upstairs to my room which is air-conditioned.  Believe it or not that the moment she enters the room, she stops whining and will smile to me with her sweetest toothless smile when she sees me or hears me talking to her.

Happy All Fools’ Day

So did anyone get fooled today? When I was younger, I used to prepare my tricks and pranks on my friends days in advance. Thinking back, that was really childish of me but I did have a good time carrying out those pranks. I was fooled and I fooled people and we all had some good laughs. My classmates and I even dared fool our teachers and that was just so foolhardy of us. Luckily our teachers were sporting enough not to get personal and had us all whipped and punished!

Facebook

I never really knew how Facebook worked until recently when a few of my old friends tried looking for me through Facebook.  Several days ago, a boy whom I had known when I was 13 years old sent me a message on Facebook. I can’t remember where we had met – it was either at his school’s  swimming pool where I used to go for swimming lessons and tournaments or at a road traffic program for kids.   He saw my name on the profile of one of my old classmates in Facebook and then, tried to search for me.  I had barely remembered who he was but after he had written several things about himself coupled with confirmation from him about the things that I had remembered about him, we finally confirmed that we had ‘reunited’ after 21 years, amazing!

I was so shocked to hear that he had recently gotten up from a coma after being involved in a tragic car accident. He is now recuperating and slowly gaining his vision and balance as he was seriously injured and was on a wheelchair.

Facebook is really a good way of searching for your long lost friends. Are you a member of Facebook too?  Looks like everyone is into Facebook now.

The Gals’ Collection of Sharpeners

This is Alycia and Sherilyn’s collection of sharpeners – 6 double hole sharpeners and 1 huge durable sharpener, plus more than 5 single hole sharpeners (not in picture).  They seem to have a thing with sharpeners and keep sharpening their pencils and color pencils. I used to hide these sharpeners in a drawer fastened with a child lock but ever since Alycia the ring leader discovered how to open all the child locks, I have to remove them from the drawer and put them high up on a wall-mounted shelve.

Forgetful Mum

I was rushing away to meet my deadlines this morning till I had forgotten to put Alycia’s lunch box into her school bag.  I had prepared peanut butter-strawberry jam-butter and cheese toast for her and had cut it nicely into triangular wedges and placed them into her lunch box.  I then left the lunchbox on the table and went upstairs to wake the gals up.  When I came down,  I was busy preparing Aly – brushing her teeth, putting on her clothes and putting on a bandaid on her toe that’s hurt and had totally forgetten to put the lunchbox into her bag.  Guess who reminded me?  It was when daddy had brought Alycia to school and Sher saw the lunchbox on the table and said “mummy, cheh cheh forgot to bring this”.  Quickly called daddy to bring the lunchbox to Alycia.   Sherilyn is so alert and observant!

What’s Wrong With Me?

I have been feeling really dry with skin peeling off from my arms, waist and belly area, my lips are cracked and bleeding and I have insatiable thirst since last night. Since this morning till now, I’ve gulped down more than 15 glasses of plain water and finally the thirsty feeling is gone. I wonder what’s wrong with me. I can’t be dehydrated coz I drink like a camel, though I don’t drink as much as I used to before I was pregnant. Could it be a hormone thing or something more serious? Must really ask my gynae.

Can’t Sleep

We had dinner with my elder brother and his family at a chinese restaurant in Chulan Square this evening and I had some very diluted chinese tea.  Now, I’m feeling wide awake and just can’t seem to fall asleep.  Or is it because I’ve been working too hard for the past few days trying to recover my lost posts and meeting deadlines, so much so that my brain can’t seem to stop functioning and knock off?  Whatever it is, I have to hit the sack now and try to sleep.  Nite nite.

Happy Deepavali Holidays

My eldest brother, his wife and in-laws from Singapore are here in KL for the Deepavali holidays.  He came this morning to pass me the money that I’d transferred from my Paypal account to his Singapore bank account.  Tonight, we’ll be having dinner at Imbi Palace again.

To all those celebrating Deepavali, here’s wishing you ‘happy Deepavali’ and to the rest, have a great holiday.

We Witnessed A Car Theft

Last week, hubby and I witnessed a car theft at our neighborhood.  We had just gotten back from the clinic and were about to get down from the car when hubby saw a man behaving suspiciously at the door of a car about 6 houses away from our house.  Seconds later, the smooth criminal opened the car door of a Proton Iswara Aeroback and sped away.  We weren’t very sure if it was his car or he was the thief.   Anyway, hubby immediately informed the security guards on patrol.

The next day, 3 young men came knocking on our door to ask if  I have seen a red Proton Iswara Aeroback that was parked  at the spot that we saw the man drove it away.  They told me that the car belonged to their friend and he couldn’t find his car after work that evening.  I told him what had happened and it’s true that the man whom we saw behaving suspiciously indeed stole the car.  My neighborhood is really unsafe. Even with the presence of security guards patrolling the area round the clock, car thefts are still very rampant.  Hubby’s MPV was stolen right in front of our house last year at broad daylight and the previous owner of our house had also lost his Proton Perdana to car thieves.  Even our neighbour lost his Kia Sorento MPV last year.   I think it’s high time we look for another place to stay.  I would personally prefer a condo with tight security.

How Do You Prevent Cats From Coming To Your House To Poo?

This is the picture of my backyard.  Something must be really attractive with this wall coz the stray cats keep coming to our backyard to pee and poo and they stink like hell!  We’ve tried spraying the area with aerosol and my mil even suggested putting mineral water bottles filled with water on top of  the water but that did not prevent the cats from coming back. Why mineral water bottles?   She was told that when the cats see their own reflection on the mineral water bottle, they will get a scare but I don’t think this trick worked on those tough stray cats.

Does anyone have a better idea of keeping those stray cats at bay?

I Really Need A Larger Computer Desk

That’s the picture of my workplace. I took a snapshot of it on Saturday after the computer guy took my CPU away to have it fixed.  With the archaic tower CPU, my desk is even more squeezy. That is why I can never eat and work at the same time coz there is just no place for me to put a bowl or a mug.

Maybe it’s time for me to get a larger computer desk. I’ve blogged about it in a number of paid posts on wanting to get a larger home office and hey you know, I’m not really bull-shiting in my posts, I truly want to get a larger computer desk for my home office!

Me Appearing on TV?

Last night, I was invited by a blogging mom to appear on TV3. TV3 would like to interview mothers who blog for money and she was invited by someone from TV3 who is a reader of her blog. I was like “what, me appearing on tv? No way, my pregnancy hormones have made me look awful now. I don’t look appealing and I have zits on my face. Aiyoh…. no way” Anyway, Alycia will still be in school at that time, unless she skips school for one day, which I don’t really fancy the idea. So, I’ve let another opportunity for me to be the star of the moment slip by me again!

Thanks anyway for thinking of me, you know who you are 🙂

Sickening News Everyday

Every morning when I go through the newspapers, I read sickening news of rape, murder, plane crashes, fatal accidents and missing children. The latest news is on the young girl who had been sexually assaulted with objects stuck to her private part before being murdered and her body stuffed into a sports bag and left in a shop. The pervert who did that must be a sick psychopath. The one on the missing malay girl, Nurin is also heartbreaking. I can reall feel for her parents. The anguish the parents have gone through, especially when they received news of a murdered young girl stuffed in a sports bag could be that of their little girl. How would you feel if you were the parents? And some sick people could even have the heart to make prank calls to the parents. What have the world become? The days where we could just cycle round the neighborhood the whole evening have become history to our children. I guess my gals will never have the opportunity and freedom like I had to play outside our house and cycle round the neighborhood without parental supervision. I guess they will have to be escorted to everywhere they go until they reach adulthood.

Monday Morning

It’s 6:55am now and the rain is still tick tick tock tock pattering outside, since 4am. I wonder if it’s going to stop so that I can go for my morning stroll and get my breakfast and newspapers. I hope Alycia will have no problem waking up later for school as she had slept late last night. I actually got the gals ready for bed by 10pm but when daddy came back, as usual, the gals started to act up, especially Alycia and demanded that daddy does ‘bom bom cha’, a.k.a. walt dancing with them. Since daddy was stinky and sweaty as he had returned from a basketball game, he had to take his shower but Alycia was whining, crying and knocking on the bathroom door away. I hate such moments before bedtime. I was too sleepy and just couldn’t force my eyes to open and went to sleep whilst daddy had to placate Alycia from inside the bathroom. Sherilyn was quite good and slept with me but later when daddy got out from the bathroom, she was distracted and jumped out from bed and joined in the craze with Alycia to bom bom cha with daddy. I think they slept at 11ish pm. Hopefully Alycia will not act up later when I drag her out from bed.
