I have warned by 2 older girls umpteen times that if I am putting Baby to sleep in the room, they are not to knock on the door, talk loudly or scream. Sometimes they listen but sometimes they don’t. They would really get on my nerves when they wake Baby up just as she’s about to drift into slumberland. When this happens, they can be rest assured to get burnt by spewing hot lava from an angry mummy!
See what Rascal #2 did here… I was putting Baby to sleep while trying to get a cat nap myself but this fler knocked on my door. When I did not reply her, she shoved flash cards and game cards through the door hole of my door….
While I was mad on seeing the heap of cards that was stuck between the door and the floor, I felt a tad bad that my poor Baby #2 wanted some attention from me too. Thus, she did this to draw my attention.

Happens all the time at home … the older ones always talk in the top of their voice just when baby is about to drift into slumberland …I get very angry with that too…
amber is so much like her. ask her not to disturb n she will deliberately do something.. or anything to get my attention. ask her to close eyes and mouth and sleep,, she will always have one last thing to say.. after another last thing. and another.. and another…..
Sigh~! That’s what my 3 yrs old girl does too, to seek atttention with all sort of nuisance and oblivious antics, which always drive me crazzzy! Sometime she just makes me think I’m a bad mama……:(
Have a pleasant week ahead!
Shireen, I am actually considering the 3rd one, and now you scared me of. Elder kids do need attention from mummy too.
I do believe some kids like to do funny things just to attract parents attention. It goes same to my son…sometimes, I was like volcano going to be erupted..but then I have to control my emotion and explained to him again and again in nice way.
How cute, the way she gets your attention.
Cute way she did to get your attention. I guess you got to scarify your nap time to accompany Sherlyn for a while, short bonding time only both of you.
middle child syndrom?! yes, she wants your attention too… but you are doing great, juggling 3 children and a online store, Shireen..
haha…..a creative way to seek your attention. She is just a kid….cool down mummy….maybe give her some snack to eat or some activity to do while you accompany baby to sleep?
I agree with MK mummy… middle child syndrome :-). It’s natural for parents to pay more attention to the eldest cause he/she’s the first for everything. And the last child too as he/she is still the baby of the family. It’s often that the middle child will be the attention seeker. I’m a middle child too, and according to my mum, I was either very very good or very very rebellious! Haha!
But I think you’re doing very well with all 3 girls la, which is also the reason why they have such strong and different characters!
oh my boy too will deliberately “disturb” the sister having her nap… and then she gets cranky when she doesn’t get enough sleep and that makes me mad too
Vic used to get lotsa scolding from us when I try to put William to sleep too… after a while, she get the idea. I give her work to do when I put William to sleep, or get maid to play with her.
