I am just so convinced that Sherilyn is related to Dennis The Menace. She is full of ideas, tricks and prangs up on her sleeves.
This brat of mine takes between 2-3 hours each night to finish her dinner. On most nights, she would only finish her dinner at around 9:30pm or 10pm if she eats rice. If she eats green tea noodles or bread which are her favorites, the eating time would be shortened. Eating rice with dishes on the dining table is like putting her into a torture chamber!
On 2 occassions, everyone else had finished their dinner and she was still sitting at the dining table, storing food in her mouth and her plate of food was cold and gross looking. Food was everywhere on the table and floor. I was bathing Baby C. I threatened her that after bathing baby, she had to finish her plate of food, else I would make her eat in the bathroom and whack her. When I came out of the bathroom, I was surprised and happy to see that her plate was empty and she was drinking her cup of water. I praised her but my joy very soon turned into anger when I saw her food in the dustbin outside the bathroom! This sneaky brat had thrown her food into the dustbin and she was cunning enough to have thrown the food into 2 dustbins – 1 in the dustbin in the master bedroom and the other into the dustbin outside the bathroom. I was fuming mad and reprimanded her big time.
Last night, I caught my wilful Sherilyn in action again. I was in my room, blowing dry Alycia’s hair after her bath when I saw Sherilyn hurriedly walking into the bathroom. She was pinching some green veggies with her fingers and she wanted to flush them down into the toilet bowl! When I said “hey, what are you doing?”, this brat instinctively chucked the veggie into her mouth and said “nothing… I want to eat the veggie“, quickly chewed the veggie and walked back to the dining table to finish off her dinner, painfully. Â LOL…. this brat sure has super quick reflex action! She had told me earlier that she didn’t want to eat the veggie but I insisted that she had to eat them. Gawd!! Can you believe how sneaky and snaky this brat is? I wonder who taught her these cunning ideas. Eerrmmm…. I think she inherited some of the cunning genes from me. When I was in Standard 1, I would pour all my water from my water tumbler into the drain before my dad came to pick me up after school. My mum had warned me to finish all the water but I hated plain water, so I threw them away! No one taught me that too, lol!

I hope Sherilyn doesn’t read this post abt soon enough about you pouring your water away.. she’ll learn the same too.. hahaha…
Like mother like dotter lor 🙂 Up till I was in Form 2/3, I used to sit alone at my dining table (most of the time, crying) when I had to finish up the vegies (usually peas or bitter gourd). My father will leave me sitting there by myself while the rest of the family went upstairs to watch TV. The effect? I still don’t take peas nor bitter gourd now 😛
my 2nd girl hates veggie too. if i forced her to eat she will surely gag and vomit it out so i gave up forcing her eating veggie. instead, i get her to eat lots of fruits. she loves fruit. 🙂
when i do try forcing her eating veggie, my mom would say that i hate veggie when i was her age too! 😀
LOL. What goes around, comes around. I am pretty naughty and cheeky when I was young too. Now, just waiting to `suffer’ when Ryan starts giving me a dose of my own medicine..HAHA! Anyway, part of parenting. What to do?
My son is a handful too but not up to Sher’s standard yet 🙂 We asked both our parents was hubby & me naughty last time and both of us were very kuai kuai one wor .. how come my son very …hyper active??!!
sure look cheeky but adorable hi hi
haha really cheeky and full of idea. Mom shd have more patient to deal with her 🙂
Hahaha. So clever of her to throw into 2 separate bins.
muhaaahaaha…i can imagine her cheeky look with the hairclips all over her head 😀 so you now you know who she takes after. Therefore don’t get too stressed up 😉
what to do…as u said..inherited from u ma. look it positively…its creativity.
reminds me of my twin Dennis ..the menace indeed. I cant help but to chuckle over your Sherilyn’s SMART action.
yes, very smart & full of ideas! hahahahaha… better smart than blur2 leh :)a
I still have to sit and wait for my almost-9 year old to finish his dinner every-night after everyone has finished and left the table.
I can’t leave him there at the table by himself because he will never sit still, and the food would probably end up in the bin.
It is INDEED a pain to do this EVERY SINGLE day. And yes… the food on his plate will be COLD and GROSS looking!
*sigh*
