Do You Allow Your Maid To Share Food And Cutlery With Your Kids?

One thing that I really dislike my maid doing is that she likes to secretly share food with my gals. Though I have told her several times not to feed the kids with her food, she is still doing it โ€“ with the same fork and spoon that she uses. Yesterday, she did it again (coz Alycia told me out of guilt) when I wasn’t looking and I got so pissed off that I told my maid off. Cโ€™mon, how unhygienic can that be, sharing food and cutlery with someone whoโ€™s not your family member. Even I hardly feed my kids food with the same fork and spoon that I am using. Sicknesses can easily be spread through saliva and I don’t even know my maid’s health background. She could have TB or some severe sicknesses in the past. Maybe I should discontinue my maid having dinner with us together on the dining table. Do you allow your maid to feed your kids with the food that she eats and with the same cutleries that she uses?

  1. My maid has her own cutlery, glass, cup, plates, bowl, water tumbler and etc. She is very happy to have her own stuff cos she said our plates and cutlery are too ‘cantik’ for her to use. hahaha.

Anyway, she eats on a different time with us. And she knows she not allowed to share food with my son. No kissing or smelling my son too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Yucks! Never. I find that disgusting for my children to share food that the maid has munch on, what more from the cutleries she’s using. No way

Your maid dine together with you all? My maid eats after we have our meal. At my in laws house, she even has her own specific plate and cutleries.

  3. u r so nice 2 ur maid by allowing her to eat together wif ur family…. usually our dinner time our maid will feed the children…
definately we will not allow her to feed our children with her cutleries… reli unhygienic

  4. Like you, I also don’t like it when non family members share food with Ashley. If I do have a maid, i would definitely forbid her to do so with my kid. hahaha….we all sure sound mean here, like the maids have some incurable diseases.

  5. Estee, Elaine, Alice, Alicia…. my maid has her own cutlery, bowls, plates and cup but my 2 kids like to eat what she eats, especially instant noodles. So out of pity, my maid fed them with her food, using her fork and spoon. My maid eats together with us coz she has to feed Sher who takes 1-2 hrs to eat. So in order to save time, I asked her to eat with us.

    Jo-N…. tks for the ‘gifts’!

  6. Barb… i know we all sound mean but maids being maids and strangers being strangers…. we don’t know their health history. So it’s better to be safe than sorry, right?

  7. i find that disgusting too. I don’t have specific cutlery for my maid, but she never share food with my kids for sure. As for water, she has her own bottle where she use to store and drink water from.

I can’t even bare the thought my maid kisses the maid.which my ex-maid did try and my MIL freak out

  8. I never like to share my baby’s cutlary or anything else from other members of the family, not just the maid. I even bought a new blender just for my baby use. I never let my maid handle any food for my baby. My baby’s hygiene is the most important thing to me.

  9. Absolutely NOT!!! Explain to the maid that it is very unhealthy because that is how illnesses spread. Tell her kids get sick more easily than adults (since they go to school etc and bring home all kinds of diseases) so she absolutely CANNOT share with the kids as you cannot afford for HER to be sick. AT ALL!! Tell her if you hear that she has used the same spoon or fork again with the kids, she will be reprimanded. And e damn serious about it. Go give some story to your girls too that they cannot share kakak’s cutlery. So both sides know that they are not allowed to do it.

  10. Nope you better stop your maid from doing that. My ex-maid dont eat with us and she also not allowed to feed the kids or make milk for the kids. All is done by me.
