After a week of being cooped up at home battling Covid, the four Coviders are now negative and well again 💪.
I’m so happy that my sense of taste and smell have slowly returned. Though not 100% functional yet, I am still happy that I could partially smell and taste my food. I was so relieved when I could taste the Portugese egg tarts and Unagi rice that the eldest SIL bought for us yesterday.
I went for my first brisk walk in 12 days this morning. I walked to the shops to get roast chicken, while I got to soak in the glorious morning sun.
I hope Alycia, hubs and Haru will be spared from the nasty virus. Haru seemed to know that I wasn’t feeling well. She was very clingy to me the past few nights – she kept swiping me with her paws and jumped up to sit with me on my chair. Haru is not a clingy cat nor does she like hugs and cuddles. She seems to be very aware of things that are going on in the house. She’s like a little human stuck in a cat’s body.
The worst part of having Covid was the extremely parched throat for the first three days, the nose block which made it hard for me to sleep at night and subsequently loss of smell and taste. I had Covid about four months after my second booster jab. This is how long the protection lasts. With this infection, I may have have immunity for another 3-4 months. Hopefully there will be no second time for me and the rest of us.
We voted on 19 November 2022 and fulfilled our responsibilities as a dutiful citizen. Alycia also voted for the very first time. However, till today there is still no decision made on a new government and it looks like there is a protracted political impasse 🥱
