FollowTurning 52 on 29 March 2025 is truly a milestone, and I feel incredibly grateful to have reached this point in life. Birthdays are not just about growing older but about cherishing the love, laughter, and experiences that each year brings. This year, my birthday celebration was a beautiful gathering filled with great food, and wonderful company.
For dinner, we headed to Kayra Authentic Kerala Cuisine at Bangsar Village, a restaurant I absolutely love. The choice was mine, and I couldn’t have been happier with it. Kayra holds a Bib Gourmand rating from the Michelin Guide, and its food never disappoints. Hubby took charge of ordering, ensuring we had all our favorites on the table: roast chicken curry, okra poriyal, spinach dal, chicken curry, plain apam (our absolute favorite), biryani rice, mutton piralan, fish moilee, prawn curry, and an assortment of rotis. Every dish was bursting with authentic Indian flavors, and we all relished every bite. It was a true feast!
After our hearty meal, it was time for dessert and the cake-cutting session. My girls went the extra mile to get me my favorite sweet treats from some of the best cafés in town:
Alycia bought me a chocolate brownie and a chocolate chip walnut cookie from my favorite store, All About Chew @ The Exchange TRX—both of which I absolutely love.
Alycia’s friend surprised me with a slice of banana coconut cake from Nutmeg @ Bangsar Village.
Sherilyn got me two decadent cakes—chocolate burnt cheesecake and lemon poppy cake—from Front Room, the café where she works part-time. Her boss gifted me a slice of alcohol-infused chocolate cake.
Each dessert was special in its own way, making my birthday all the more delightful. It was a sweet and thoughtful gesture that I truly appreciated.
Reflecting on this day, I feel deeply blessed to have spent another year surrounded by love and joy. I cherish these moments, the laughter shared, and the warmth of family. With God’s blessings, I pray for many more happy birthdays to come. Here’s to another great year ahead!
