A Birthday Shopping Spree & A Little Treat for Cass

Two days ago, I made a trip to the shopping mall with two missions in mind—one for Cass and one for myself. First, I needed to bring Cass’ Swatch watch to the Swatch store in Mid Valley Megamall to have its battery replaced. Did you know that battery replacements for Swatch watches are free for life? I’ve always appreciated this little perk from Swatch—it’s a small but meaningful benefit for loyal customers. However, I only wear my Xiaomi fitness tracker now and my bling bling Swatch watch has been sitting inside my drawer.

Second, since it’s my birthday month, I wanted to get myself a little birthday present. Reaching 52 years of life is something worth celebrating. Life is full of uncertainties, and simply being alive and healthy is a blessing in itself.

It turned out to be a productive and satisfying shopping trip! I successfully got Cass’ watch battery replaced FOC, and I also found some items that I love:

✅ A pair of Asics white platform sneakers (RM320) – I’ve been eyeing a good pair, and I finally found one that I like!  This is my first pair of Asics (Japan) as I’ve always worn Nike and Adidas. The fit and comfort are surprisingly very good.
✅ A bra dress from Uniqlo (discounted price of RM129.90) – Super comfy and practical, adding to my growing collection of bra dresses.
✅ A pair of comfy sports shorts from Uniqlo (RM99.90) – Perfect for daily wear and workouts.

💸 Total “damage” for my birthday present? More than RM500—but hey, birthdays are meant for treating yourself, right? 😆

A day before my shopping trip, Cass WhatsApped me late at night with a request—she wanted a chicken burrito from Stuff’d. She even went the extra step to screenshot her exact order from the GrabFood app to make it easier for me.

When I arrived at Stuff’d, I had to place the order through a self-service machine, and thanks to Cass’ screenshot, the process was smooth. While I was there, I also got:

🥙 A beef burrito for MIL
🥗 A low carb daily bowl (salad) for myself (with fillings similar to the burritos)

Total cost: RM60.95 – not exactly cheap for lunch, but Stuff’d food is always fresh and tasty.

A Happy Camper 🎉

At the end of the day, I was one happy camper—not only did I manage to get Cass’ watch battery sorted, but I also treated myself to some new birthday goodies. With my latest sneaker addition, I now own half a dozen pairs of Nike, Adidas, and Asics sneakers. It’s time to do a little decluttering and give my old ones to Maria when she returns from Indonesia in August after giving birth.

Here’s to celebrating life, small joys, and self-care! 🎂🎁
