Haru The Goblin

Ever since we fostered Haru in February this year when she was a 6-7 week-old kitten, it feels like we have another child/toddler at home. She’s extremely active and mischievous. She behaves like a human child and can sometimes be very rebellious to spite us. Or maybe this is a cat’s innate disposition?

Today someone let her out of the cage while I was out for my morning exercise. When I came back, no one realized that Haru had already gone to the wet kitchen and walked to the balcony through the grill gaps. I had a shock of my life when I saw this goblin basking in the warmth of the sun, next to the air-conditioner outdoor unit at the ledge. Just one wrong step forward and this goblin would have fallen down to her death, from the 5th floor!

Of course no one admitted to letting Haru out of the cage, as usual.

Several hours later, I put Haru back into the cage as I’d wanted to shower. But I could not find Haru. I called out to her and took out her cookie jar and shook it. Haru would usually dash out whenever I shake her cookie jar. She’s a foodie, just like her hooman dad and sisters. But this time, she didn’t dash out. I looked everywhere in the house for her while the 2 culprits who let Haru out of the cage were no where to be found. I really thought that Haru ran away or fell down to her death from the kitchen balcony.

Several minutes later, Cass found Haru under her blanket on her bed! Cass shares a queen size bed with her grandma. And grandma eventually found out that Haru went up HER bed and was rolling her eyes with that killer stare on Haru đŸ˜č

And needless to say, I had to change the bedding again! Because someone would not sleep on a bed that the cat had slept on 😐

Always in search of food. She’s got a very good appetite after a full recovery from her spay surgery.

What Are Nitrile And Latex Gloves Used For?

PPE such as a face mask, is most often used by people who work with the public, such as lifeguards, first responders and healthcare providers. When it comes to nitrile vs latex, both serve the same basic purpose. Latex and Nitrile Gloves are lightweight, stretchy hand coverings that protect the wearer from direct contact with whatever they may touch, which protect first aid and healthcare providers from blood-borne pathogens. They can also prevent foodborne illnesses and skin irritation caused by household cleaners, as well as the spread of infectious diseases.

PPE are recommended to be worn when caring for someone who is sick and when sanitizing and disinfecting your home. Frequently-touched surfaces like doorknobs, light switches and countertops harbor tons of germs, and the cleaning products that act as disinfectant can be very harsh on your skin.

While disposable gloves help keep you safe by blocking direct skin contact, they are not the most effective way to prevent you from getting sick. The most important protective measure is frequent and thorough hand washing. Always wash your hands with soap and water after removing gloves. Reusing or washing disposable gloves or other disposable PPE are not recommended because effectiveness wanes with repeated use.

Although nitrile and latex gloves are incredibly common forms of PPE, there are a few reasons why you might pick one over the other. The first is whether you or anyone in your household has a latex allergy. Use of Latex Gloves can cause a rash, hives, swelling and more when used by someone with a latex sensitivity. Gloves made from synthetic materials, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), nitrile, or polyethylene are safer for people with latex allergies.

Latex gloves are popular due to their elasticity and comfort. Nitrile gloves, on the other hand, are more durable and resistant to punctures and chemicals. Overall, nitrile gloves may be the more versatile option. Whichever you choose, always stock up protective gloves in your garage, shop or cleaning cupboard to keep your hands safe, clean and protected.

Experience New Looks Each Time With Remy Brazilian Hair

Whether or not to add volume or length to natural hair, using extensions provide women with a number of beauty options. Brazilian hair provide women the chance to test numerous hairstyles without needing to chop their natural hair. Consequently, you are able to test out creative and beautiful hairstyles regularly until you get a look that you will love.

Are you currently searching for some hot hair styles to test after your purchase of hair extension bundle from wholesale hair vendors?  Whether you’re heading out on a date or attend your best friend’s wedding, here are a few easy-to-do, yet stunning, hairstyles that you can replicate with your Brazilian extensions.

If you like to flaunt the level of your wavy extensions, the most popular half-up half-lower style can be made by simply tying the very best 1/2 of the weaves together. After that you can let all of those other gorgeous threads fall naturally.  The half-up half-down weave hairstyle is glamorous and a great option for a more protective hairstyle compared to a standard weave. This weave can be done without having any glue come in contact with your natural hair by using a protective cap.

Fed up with a normal ponytail or bun? Use a shawl to secure hair and moving large parts of the wefts for a cute, vintage look. In the event that doesn’t meet your liking,  do up a large bun that highlights the amount added from your extensions.

While testing out new looks, you’ll likely need to use curling irons and/or straightening irons. Fortunately, high-quality real brazilian hair extensions can withstand heat generated by irons. This will be significant because you wouldn’t like your extensions to frizz up or crumble while you’re on a date or girls’ night.

Full Lace Wigs

Similarly, high-quality extensions allow you to take care of them exactly like you would your natural hair. When you really need to wash your extensions, you can just use shampoo and conditioner you normally use. Washing your extensions regularly is recommended  if you wish to keep them soft and full of body and luster always.

Monday, 29 November 2021 ~ Random Updates

This week Sherilyn is staying home for remote learning. She went to school last week. Next week will be the last week that Sherilyn attends physical classes in school before the year end school holidays begin.

I’ve been clocking in only 5-6 hours of shut-eye for the last two weeks, including Saturdays and Sundays. I was up early on both weekends as Alycia had to leave the house by 7 a.m. for the van driver from the driving school to fetch her to the driving academy in Puchong. She’s been attending driving lessons on Saturdays and Sundays the past two weeks. After 16 hours of lessons on the road (4 hours for each session), she’s now scheduled to sit for a trial exam this Thursday. Honestly, I’m not sure if 16 hours is sufficient. I’ve not sat in with her in my car for practice lessons as it’s technically not legal for her to be driving around without a driver’s license. I can only 🙏 that Alycia will pass the test in just one sitting. If she flunks, more money will fly out of my wallet for extra driving lessons. And losing more sleep as well đŸ„±

Just a little update on Alycia’s foundation program at Sunway College. Life in college is much more hectic than life in a Chinese independent high school. Chinese-style education is said to be one of the toughest institutions to be in and students from Chinese schools are always under pressure to be the best of the best. I’m somewhat thankful that she attended Chinese schools for 11 years and thus, has been conditioned for heavy load in homework and regular tests.

There are lots of projects, assignments, presentations and tests in college. Alycia sat for her first exam two months into the course. On some days when it’s her turn to be in college, she would only reach home after 7pm.

Alycia takes Grab to college on some days and on other days, her former classmate who stays in our hood who also goes to the same college, gives her a ride to and fro.

With the school holidays around the corner, Sherilyn is already planning to sell her best seller items to earn some money. Today she made strawberry milk for us and her friends to try. Next, she will work out the cost and price tag for the strawberry milk. She also intends to sell kimchi, tarts and other signature items. This girl has big plans for herself.

Refreshing strawberry milk made using frozen strawberries, Lakanto sugar and Australia fresh milk.

Chef Sherilyn’s new dish – sesame crusted pan fried salmon served with mayo wasabi dipping sauce.

Popular Outerwear Trends

Some of you might dread the bitter cold weather but others see it as an opportunity to flaunt their stylish outerwear collection. Trench coats? Parka coats? Wrap and belted coats?  Yes, please!

Whether you’re shopping for coats such as a collarless plain coat or a leather trench coat, style is essential, but one should also focus on utility and warmth to remain at the forefront. Without the practical details, that chic coat may not get as much wear as you’d hoped.

A 10/10 choice must check all of the important boxes, such as price, material, pockets, high collar, a hood, the weight and much more. It may seem like a challenge to find a piece that fits the bill that does it all without compromising style. I’ve found five great outerwear pieces in the new collections from Ninacloak and they’re affordable too!  Let’s have a look at them.

Fold-Over Collar Plain Coat With Belt

Corduroy Double-breasted Casual Blazer
Casual Gold Velvet Solid Color Cardigan Blazer
Solid Color Long Belted Woolen Coat
Women’s Autumn And Winter New Woolen Coat

Wear any of these trend-driven outerwear with your daytime denim and long sleeve tops or your evening dress and heels. A swank outerwear can complete your OOTD and make every outfit look fabulous.

Shopping for coats is a careful balance between buying something fashionable and investing in something you’ll want to wear all the time with most of your wardrobe. Don’t forget that keeping warm is ideal too, so be sure to pick a style that you can easily throw over a cozy OOTD.

Haru Is Off The Cone & Post-Surgery Suit

I didn’t intend to let Haru off the cone and suit yet as I wanted her wound to heal completely. But I guess my smart kitty knew that her wound has healed well and she declared her own ‘freedom’ and ‘clean bill of health’ by removing both the cone and suit herself one morning early this week.

No matter how hard we tried to put the cone and suit back on her, she would find a way to remove them from her body. Stubborn as a mule!

Haru figured out how to tear off her suit no matter which cone (plastic or soft) we put on her neck.
Not even 2 weeks old and the post-surgery suit is filled with holes with the velcro almost torn off.
Photo taken last week. The wound looks so much better now.
Haru’s now back to her usual self again now. She’s super adorable, bursting with energy and always initiates a play with us. She’s yearning to see the outside world too and loves to look down from the window to watch people and birds.
Haru still loves plastic bags. Every time she sees a plastic bag lying around, she will jump into it and waits for us to carry her around in it.

I finally saw Haru’s sibling again, outside hubby’s central kitchen. I think he’s about 6 months old here. Haru’s mother gave birth to another litter of kittens a few months after giving birth to Haru. She recently gave birth to another litter of kittens but we believe that the 4 kittens had been swallowed up by a python snake😭. The snake was later caught by firefighters.

Close Shave

Last Monday, I heard the most dreaded words from Alycia. Her best friend was tested positive for Covid-19 and Alycia was in close contact with her! They hung out a week ago on Monday and had meals together. Towards the end of the week, her best friend felt unwell and on Monday (7 days later), was tested positive for Covid-19.

When Alycia said “mummy, where can I do a PCR test in Taman xxxx? ABC is Covid positive and I met her last Monday”, my heart dropped.

I zoomed to the only clinic at our hood that performs Covid tests (the same clinic that I brought Cass to after Haru bit her) and waited anxiously for the PCR test to be performed on Alycia. Alycia was both overwhelmed and terrified of the procedure. Who wouldn’t be? You’re about to have something shoved up your nose and another swab slid deep into your throat. Well, except for Cass who had gone through a PCR test twice and could still laugh after the procedures were over.

Alycia commented that the swab procedure wasn’t as bad as she thought.

If Alycia was tested positive, it would have an impact on every single occupant at home and the chain reaction is going to be dreadful. I tried to be positive, though it’s hard. I don’t always have a good relationship with hope.

Prayer was my only hope and somehow, I was quite certain that the result would be negative.

The next 24 hours or so was tough for Alycia and me as we were both consumed by anticipatory anxiety. This is when our thoughts and bodies are consumed with worst-case scenarios, dread and fear for what might come.

The worst case scenario was Alycia would be quarantined in her room for 7 days. And all of us would be rounded up to the clinic for a swab test too. That would cause a damage of RM200 x 5 = RM1,000 for the PCR tests for the remaining five of us! Or we could just save the money and not have the tests done but just lock ourselves up at home and not step out for the next 7 days? I kept disconnecting from the negative thoughts, and I knew I had to be positive that Alycia would be negative đŸ„Ž

Words cannot describe our relief when the result was finally released. Hubs bought my favorite cakes from Nutmeg to celebrate 😅

But I wasn’t 100% relieved yet. Alycia had to quarantine herself for 5 days and there was still a possibility that she could still be positive. I tested Alycia’s temperature and did a pulse oximeter check on her every day. On Friday when she was out of quarantine, she did another Covid test using a self-test kit.

The waiting part is now over and everyone at home is super relieved. But Covid is still lurking around at every corner. How can we be sure that we will not get infected by Covid? I can only remind the girls (and sound like a naggy long-winded grandmother) of the Covid SOPs and not to share food or drinks with their friends when they’re in school and campus, no matter how close their friends are to them and how tempting it would be to be sharing and eating from the same bowl or plate of food.

In essence, good nutrition, regular exercise, being physically active, get enough sleep (at least 7 hours), have a healthy psychological and emotional wellbeing can benefit our immune system to strengthen it.

Stay safe and healthy everyone!

Alycia’s meals were brought to her room, three times a day.
Fried nasi kerabu from hubby’s central kitchen.
Cold tofu with minced pork.
Spaghetti Carbonara and Portugese egg tart from Red Kettle, washed down with a cup of healthy matcha.

Crispy Chicken Sandwich With Homemade Japanese Tartar Sauce

Chef S made crispy chicken sandwich with homemade Japanese tartar sauce for dinner yesterday. This is both a time-consuming and messy dinner to prep as it involves deep-frying the chicken breast (coated with panko crumbs) and making the Japanese tartar sauce.

Chef S started prepping the chicken a day earlier by brining the chicken breast. Brining keeps the chicken meat incredibly moist while adding an excellent flavour. It’s a bit more labour intensive than a simple spice rub, but it’s worth the effort for that extra special chicken dinner. Brining is basically soaking meat in a salt water solution, but the flavour doesn’t stop at just salt. And even though breast meat was used, the meat wasn’t dry at all.

Super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Most of them were deep fried and some were air-fried in the Airbot.
Lately I’ve been buying a lot more chicken breast than other parts as breast meat is healthier and has lower calories.
A succulent sandwich that’s bursting with flavors and textures – everyone loved the homemade Japanese tartar sauce with eggs, homemade pickled cucumbers, chopped onions, lemon juice, mayo and black pepper. Love the juicy tomatoes and organic baby spinach tucked between the meat and bread.
The bread is homemade by the mil.

This is quite a labor-intensive meal and both Chef S and Cass worked together to dish out a pretty impressive and yummy dinner for us.

4 Ways to Offer Support to a Loved One with Cancer

Pink Ribbon, Breast Cancer Awareness Month

By 2040, the number of new cancer cases per year is expected to rise to 29.5 million. For many of these patients, part of surviving this terrible disease is having the support of their loved ones. If someone in your life was recently diagnosed with cancer, here are four ways you can support them.

1. Understand what they’ll be going through

While every cancer case is different, each patient will inevitably struggle with a range of emotions as they deal with the disease, including anger, uncertainty, fear, and a sense of being isolated from others. At the same time, they may go through a range of physical changes, including hair and weight loss, problems sleeping, changes to their skin color, and extreme fatigue.

2. Help them do the research

To successfully fight their cancer, every patient will need to identify where they will be treated. So, whether they are struggling with breast cancer Newport beach-based, for example, it will mean vetting the various options and how it fits with the patient’s needs and preferred approach to care.

3. Offer practical support

One of the best ways to help a friend or family member dealing with cancer is to offer practical support. That means being there for the little things such as making meals they can freeze, offering to pick up their kids from school, running errands, or helping them with some cleaning or laundry.

4. Care for the caregiver

The primary caregiver plays a vital role in the treatment of a cancer patient. The role is most often filled by a spouse, partner, parent, or adult child. Taking care of the caregiver is important because the role can often be taxing.

18 November 2021 ~ Updates on Haru’s Spay Surgery

Today is Haru’s 16th day post spay surgery. After an infection of the wound with another round of oral antibiotics and anti-inflammation medicine, the wound now looks much better.

What really worked was us making sure that Haru didn’t tear off her post-op suit and plaster to lick the wound. The girls and I watched over her like a hawk. Desperate times called for desperate measures and I had to put a plastic Elizabethan cone on Haru despite her initially protesting. Haru had discovered a way to remove her post-on suit by turning her head to her back and pulling off the velcro on the suit, and then wriggles her way out of the suit! Then she would hide under the sofa, at the farthest end so that no one could catch her and she would lick off the double layer of plasters to lick her wound. That’s how determined and stubborn this feline is.

After an initial protest with loads of growling and hissing, Haru finally accepted the cone on her neck. In fact, she could even sleep with the plastic cone inside her cage overnight without attempting to remove it. She seems to know that her wound is infected and the cone and suit are for her to get well.

Cass found an old U-shaped neck pillow and put it on Haru’s box bed. Haru loves sleeping on the pillow with a thin blanket covering her. This managed to calm her and make her sleep almost all day. We take turns putting the box with Haru in it next to our desk so that we could watch her like a hawk all day. After doing this for several days, Haru’s wound was no longer seeping blood and no longer had an odor.

I ordered a softer recovery collar from Shopee for Haru and it arrived yesterday. It’s in the shape of an avocado and very comfy. As usual, Haru was super pissed with us when we put the avocado collar on her. After loads of growling, hissing and spitting, she settled down and has now accepted the collar😾 .

Haru looks so much like a newborn human baby in the romper and even smells like a baby. The girls are cooing over her and snapping tons of photos of her. In spite of that, we can’t wait to see Haru in her fluffy birthday suit again, with no more restrictions to her movements.

Cuteness overload, like a newborn baby sleeping.

Get this ridiculous avocado out of my neck!
So pissed that her sharp claws came out.

How To Find Meaning in Your Life

If you feel that your life does not hold as much meaning as it once did, you are not alone. Many people experience these feelings of listlessness and disinterest at different times in their lives. Fortunately, this state of mind does not have to be permanent, or even long-lasting. Here are some ways to rekindle your joie de vivre.

Use Your Gifts

Your strengths and talents are an important part of what makes you, you. Exercising these natural skills often will ground you by helping you reconnect with yourself. If you aren’t sure what your gifts are, think about your interests and what feels intuitive for you. You can also revisit activities that you enjoyed as a child and hobbies that you fell out of practice with throughout your life.

Carve out a block of time in your schedule for hobbies and recreational activities. You can do this several times per week or you can practice your pastimes in brief daily sessions for 15 to 20 minutes each. However you decide to do this, make sure that it is consistent.

woman jumping on desert during golden hour

Try Something New

Pick up a new skill or read about a subject that interests you. Trying new things can ignite passions you never knew you had, and it can help you gain a new perspective on the world around you. And not only that; practicing new skills and taking in new information is believed to alter your brain chemistry in a way that makes learning easier and more rewarding. Novelty is a great way to escape from monotony and boredom, which can leave you feeling purposeless in the long term.

Surround Yourself With Positive People

Avoid people that mentally and emotionally exhaust you as much as possible. Instead, spend quality time with cherished friends and family. Fortifying these relationships will help strengthen your support system. You can also incorporate wellness professional services like Amandeep Khun-Khun Coaching into this network for additional guidance.

Set Goals and Intentions

Create reasonable goals and intentions for yourself, then think of ways that you can accomplish them. Even larger life goals (i.e. “I want to be successful”) should be broken down into attainable baby steps that you can address in the near future. Write down your aspirations in a journal or on your computer to help you keep track of them.

Completing these important tasks will give you a sense of direction in your daily life.

Consider Volunteering

You may find fulfillment in volunteer work. Volunteering your time will make a difference in the lives of others, and contributing to the betterment of your local community can help you find a sense of purpose and belonging. If you cannot volunteer regularly, try to find other ways to get involved in causes that you are passionate about.

These tips cannot be accomplished within a short amount of time, but they are entirely worth the effort. Be patient with yourself as find what works for you and what doesn’t and, eventually, you will feel more like yourself again.

Tactical Clothes For Hiking

I love outdoor recreational activities. One of my favourite outdoor activities is hiking. There’s always something to look forward to whenever you hike – whether it’s a waterfall at the end of the jungle trail or to the peak where you’ll be treated to some of the most spectacular sceneries.  The sounds of the waterfall or waves beating the rocks when you’re almost reaching the destination motivates you to push yourself harder to move on when you’re physically and mentally exhausted. Standing atop a hill and admiring the awesome view after a long and grueling hike makes you feel invincible and surreal.

One of the longest hikes that we did was at the Rangitƍtƍ Summit Track in Auckland, New Zealand 7 years ago. The hike involved walking on black rock created by lava flows on a volcanic island with panoramic views over the gulf. There were steep ascents (which were the toughest part of the hike), technical scrambles and bumpy terrain; all of which made us feel out of breath.

Cass was only 6 years old at that time and it was quite tough to hike with her. I had to carry a big backpack with all her paraphernalia and that was extra weight to carry on my achy shoulders during the hike that lasted several hours.  Hubs even had to give Cass piggyback rides several times throughout the hike. Whenever he carried Cass on his back, he moved his heavy backpack to his front. That was a tough hike for the both of us.  Six other people who were hiking with us, including our two older girls, were always in front and waiting for us.  That hike was not in our original itinerary and we were not well prepared for it. Hubs should have worn tactical clothing and I should have worn a pair of tactical pants so that I could distribute the weight of my backpack contents to the pants.

Womens wear-resistant outdoor tactical pants

Tactical clothing is built to withstand the elements, and the abuse of wear and tear.  These specially tailored clothing are a solid choice for the adrenaline junkies and adventurous travelers. If you’re into mountain climbing, rock climbing, jungle trekking or hiking, it would be a smart choice to get some tactical clothing to protect your body from scratches and the elements.

Women’s outdoor tactical multi-pocket pants

To shop for the best tactical clothing for your adventures in the jungle, mountains and off-roading, why not have a look at Wayrates.com? They have a good range of tactical clothing, footwear and vintage men’s t-shirts for you to select from.

Today hubs and I had lunch at Red Kettle, our favorite cafe nestled in our lovely neighborhood. It’s the first time in years since we last had a meal there, just the two of us. I can’t even remember how many years we’ve not dined in there. The food quality hasn’t changed and still as superb as it used to be.

Red Kettle closed their outlet at our hood for several years so that the owners could focus on their new outlet at Starling Mall. They recently moved back to our hood but because of the prolonged lockdown, we have not dined in at their cafe.

Pork chop for me.
Classic chicken chop for hubs.
Hubs cooks chicken chop at his central kitchen, yet doesn’t seem to get bored of them. I asked him why he ordered chicken chop as he cooks them almost daily and he shrugged and said he wanted to try and compare 😐
Apple crumble cake with rum and raisin ice-cream for dessert.
Sweet ending to a delightful meal – besides cakes, hubs always orders latte to end his meal on a sweet note whenever he dines at cafes that serve Western or fusion food.

We ordered a Carbonara takeaway for Alycia and Cass. I also got some Portugese egg tarts and a loaf of coconut bread. The Portugese egg tarts from Red Kettle are simply best in the world.

The Art of Massage: How it Can Benefit Your Life

Massage therapy was originally practiced in India thousands of years ago, but it has since made its way around the world. Although many people may associate this type of treatment with luxury hotels and individuals with too much money, the art of massage can provide many benefits. Massage therapy is good for the mind, body, and soul, and it is highly recommended for people experiencing different types of ailments. Here are a few things you may not know about the art of massage.

Many Massage Techniques for Different Purposes

There are at least 80 massage techniques around the world, and many of them are designed to help you in different ways. For example, deep tissue massages and some Thai-style massages concentrate on trigger points in the body and manage to target areas deep under the skin. They are ideal for people experiencing pain. On the other hand, some massage techniques, such as Swedish massage, are designed to aid relaxation and decrease stress.

Massage, Shoulder, Human, Relaxation, Classic Massage

Excellent For Athletes

Sports massage is ideal for athletes. Regular treatments can prevent serious injury and reduce tension in the body. The technique helps increase blood flow to the limbs and increases circulation. This type of massage can also help get rid of lactic acid quickly and help enhance the recipient’s flexibility. Many athletes schedule regular massage therapy to help offset delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS).

A Sense of Wellness

Most people enjoy going for a massage due to the feeling of relaxation and contentment they feel afterward. The ambiance inside the treatment room can help induce feelings of serenity. However, there is a chemical reason behind the sense of wellness one feels. When a person receives a massage, the physical touch triggers the nerve cells in the skin. This sends signals to the brain to release endorphins. This feel-good hormone helps boost mood and decreases stress. The best way to maintain this feel-good feeling is to schedule regular treatments from a professional therapist. Posh Clinic, for example, specializes in wellness and employs certified therapists who offer a variety of massage techniques. For more information about the massage treatments offered, visit poshclinic.com.

Relieves Insomnia

A therapeutic massage can increase serotonin levels, and, in turn, this gets rid of stress and relaxes the system. This is good news for people who suffer from insomnia. Regular massages can help relieve insomnia and help people sleep easier.

Elevates Immune Function

Some types of massages are designed to improve circulation and increase blood flow. They can also increase white blood cell activity, which can elevate immune function. The role of white blood cells revolves around immune system support and fighting disease. Ultimately, getting a massage can help flush toxins out and keep you fighting fit.

Helps You Stand Tall

Office workers who crouch over a computer all day long can benefit from regular massages. Crouching and bad posture can result in back pain, spinal dysfunction, bad joints, and rounded shoulders. A well-executed massage can help keep the body loose and relax joints. This can improve your posture and help you stand tall.

Haru’s Post Spay Surgery – Day 9

Haru’s wound is infected. There’s brownish blood seeping out since 2 days ago. Last night we put a plaster back on her wound and dressed her up in the post op suit but when I woke up this morning, she had removed everything again!

Today Cass and I made a quick dash to the vet clinic when Cass had half an hour of break in between classes. The vet cleaned her wound and prescribed her with another 5 days of antibiotics and anti-inflammation pills 😱

Haru now associates her carrier with vet visits and hates the carrier. She seems to understand whenever I say “get the carrier ready”, “put her in the carrier” or “catch her and put her in her cage”. Whenever she hears me saying these to the girls, she’ll dash under the far end of the sofa coz she knows that we can’t catch her if she’s at that spot đŸ˜č

Today I had to change my strategy in getting Haru into the carrier. Usually I would tell the girls to get ready the carrier an hour before a vet visit but this time, we did that last.

I told Cass to get dressed up, put her face mask on and while I pretended that nothing’s happening, picked Haru up to cuddle her. As Cass opened the carrier door, I nonchalantly put Haru into it. But she resisted with all her might. Alycia told me to put Haru’s butt in first and voila, it was done, but not without feisty defiance.

My manja baby.
Trying our best to keep Haru as comfortable as possible. She seems to know that her wound is infected and now associates the post-op suit with having to lie down and sleep more.
The suit makes it hard for her to move about. The size L suit is too big on her and she can wriggle out of it easily. I have to tie the suit with a band to tighten it. The size M suit is too tight on her her legs and she makes us all ROTFL whenever we see her walk in the suit.
Think wearing a super tight G-string and strutting around in it 😜
Luckily I ordered another suit from Shopee for Haru this week. The earlier one that I ordered had blood stains on it and needed to be washed. This strawberry suit is size M and a tad tight on her, especially at the thighs.

Hopefully Haru won’t be able to wriggle out of this strawberry suit tonight when all of us are in bed, to tear off the plaster on her wound. I’d put extra surgical tapes on top of the plaster to prevent her from tearing off the plaster.
