Shopping for stationery items for the kids during the lockdown be like this:
Yesterday I went to Mr DIY after being hounded by Cass and Sherilyn for days. Sherilyn who’s sitting for her mid-term exam (online) needed pens and Cass broke her mechanical pencil. Her ear phones also conked out and she needed a new set for her online lessons. So I went to Mr DIY alone and video called the girls so that I’d get them the right items this time.
Have I told you that the girls are super persnickety when it comes to their stationery items? A few days ago I bought a Faber Castell mechanical pencil from 99 Speedmart for Cass but she didn’t want it and I had to bring it back to the mart to exchange it with something else. Not too long ago I bought her a new set of cheapo earphones but she didn’t want to use them as the earphones didn’t have bud covers. And pens must be gel and not click or grip with only 0.5mm tip 🙄. During my time, I only used pens given as free gifts and my mechanical pencil (also a free gift from a blackcurrant cordial purchase) lasted until my college days! That’s how frugal and careful I was with my belongings.
