Besides snacking on muruku and brownie chips throughout the lockdown, my other guilt pleasure is online shopping. Since mall shopping is not possible now, online shopping gives me almost the same enjoyment! 😁. Today I was browsing for bra tops at Uniqlo and women’s dresses online at Holapick just to satiate my eyes’ desire for the 2021 women’s fashion trends. I’ve not bought a single outfit or shoe this year and can’t believe how self-restraint I am! Even if I do buy new clothes, I have no where to go besides the regular trips to the neighborhood supermarket, pharmacy, bank, dentist and hubby’s shop.
When I was going through my closet the other day, I almost forgot that I have quite a good collection of dresses. I took out a few dresses and hung them on the clothes rack in my room as a reminder to myself to wear them. The next day, I wore a body fitting skater dress to make a quick dash to the mini mart to get toilet papers 🤭. I know it seemed silly to wear this in the middle of a lockdown but if I don’t wear my dresses now, they will never truly have their moments to shine as there seems to be no end to the pandemic.
Fashionistas the world over are sheltering at home, but they’re still getting dressed and celebrating the joys of clothing and looking swag. One thing is obvious – those in the fashion industry seem to be quietly skipping anything that’s too dressy or over-the-top.
