30 April 2021 ~ Random Updates

Today is the last day of April and Alycia’s a very happy girl because on Monday next week, she doesn’t have to babysit the toddlers in the pre-school or tutor primary school kids anymore. She’ll be doing brand promotion via social media, which is related to her course of study in college/uni, though she has zero training in this area. However, she still has to teach two pre-schoolers as the pre-school owner doesn’t want these two kids to keep having different teachers. Alycia’s fine with this arrangement as long as she doesn’t have to handle toddlers or teach the entire day.

My dad has finally received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine (Pfizer) early this week! Thank God he hasn’t experienced any side effects, except for a sore arm. If you still haven’t registered for the vaccine, please do so as soon as possible. We have doctor friends and relatives who keep encouraging everyone to be vaccinated. The benefits of the vaccine outweigh any side effects that one may experience.

Papa is extremely pleased with the service that he received when he was at the vaccination center in Ipoh.
Haru is Cass’ de-stressor. Being a Chinese Independent High School student is no easy feat and Cass spends her break time in between lessons playing with Haru.
Cass loves doing this to Haru’s face 😹
I ordered KFC for dinner on Tuesday as there was a RM10 discount promotion. I just love it when I don’t have to clean up a greasy messy kitchen!
I gave some bland tasting KFC chicken breast meat to Haru and she gobbled down the chicken meat within a minute. She loves chicken and pork.

5 Ways Poor Eyesight Can Affect Your Life

Poor eyesight is a terrible thing to deal with and can affect a great many aspects of your life. However, by understanding what it can do to you, you can plan to mitigate its negative effects and work to overcome the challenges posed by poor vision. To that end, this article aims to explain some of the most frequent issues found in people with poor eyesight so that you can learn to deal with and avoid these issues.

1. Frequent Headaches

A particularly irksome and disruptive side effect of poor vision is the constant development of headaches in patients with poor vision. These are not only disruptive, but painful and often if the sufferer is vulnerable to migraines, they can be downright debilitating when they emerge. This pain and suffering is something that most sufferers of poor vision must accustom themselves to. However, with the strategic use of pain killers, the bulk of these headaches could be dealt with. If you are experiencing frequent headaches, make sure to consult your doctor.

2. Poor Mental Health

The constant stresses and pressures of dealing with life with low vision can take a serious toll on the mental health of those who suffer from impaired vision and this means conditions like depression, anxiety and other psychological problems are relatively common in these individuals and that too can take a significant toll on their lives.

3. Reduced Quality of Life

This all comes together to produce a rather reduced quality of life for those suffering from extreme vision issues. However, there are products and support services designed to provide the best quality of life.

4. Increased Risk of Injury

Along with poor spatial awareness, there is an increase in your risk of personal injury. This is for a number of reasons but most commonly, you simply don’t see hazards before it is too late for you to avoid being injured. These injuries can range from the relatively benign, like scraped knees, to the downright deadly, such as car accidents and significant falls. This potential hazard to your life is one of the more major symptoms of poor eyesight and fortunately only affects a small portion of the population who have severely degraded vision.

If you suffer from these symptoms and you cannot seem to mitigate and control them, then more drastic solution could be right for you. Laser eye surgery, such as LASIK in Baton Rouge, is one such option to remedy these issues and give you a new lease on life.

5. Poor Spatial Awareness

An inherent effect of a reduced ability to see is reduced awareness of what is around you, this can permeate the life of people with poor eyesight and can even become dangerous if they are not careful. On top of that, this lack of spatial awareness can even exclude those with particularly poor vision from doing things that many people take for granted, such as driving

This can be somewhat mitigated through the use of glasses, but they are not a guaranteed solution to the problem.
