Keeping Fit With A Jogging Stroller

I’ve been a jogging freak all my life. The only time that I stopped jogging was when I was preggers with the girls. As my three babies were delivered via C-section, I did brisk walking two months after the delivery and started to run / jog again after six months.

When Cass was a baby, she was breastfed exclusively. Thus, she was very attached to me.  I could never leave her alone and brought her along with me wherever I went to.  On mornings that I failed to ‘Ninja’ my way out of the house without waking Cass up from her sleep, off she went jogging with me, with her strapped to her Peg Perego stroller.  Cass enjoyed all the jogging sessions with me from the time she was about 6 months old up to 3 years old.  On days when it rained, I worked out at our porch on my trampoline with Cass strapped up in her stroller watching me.  We stopped jogging together when she started pre-school.

Many women whom I know of lost their exercise enthusiasm after child birth due to lethargy and lack of time. Consequently, they balloon up.  If you are one of them, it takes just a little will power to get your exercise regimen jump started. Once you get the momentum, it will be hard to even stop exercising.  One exercise that is light and non-strenuous is brisk walking.  Start off with just once a week on a weekend with baby in toll.  Strap baby up in a jogging stroller and walk around your neighborhood. Soak up the glorious early morning sun to get your dose of Vitamin D and pump in some oxygen into your lungs and brain.  I used to sing nursery rhymes to Cass, teach her 123s and ABCs and point out things in our surroundings to her during our walks together.   I find our walks together extremely educational for Cass.

The Peg Perego stroller that Cass used wasn’t my ideal stroller for jogging.  It was not made for jogging. The hubs had bought the wrong type of stroller.  If I ever have baby no. 4, I will definitely get a jogging stroller.  But this will never happen as I am so done and over with child bearing, though the hubs really misses having a baby around in the house and has even suggested having another baby *good heavens*

My sil who is a jogging enthusiast will definitely love this double jogging stroller for her twin babies.   Her twin babies are getting cuter each day and I’m so excited that I can cuddle the twins in another two days when we are back in Ipoh to celebrate Chinese New Year.
