Our Thursday – 4 April 2013

This is hubby’s and my breakfast at Ficelle Boulangerie today.  After dropping Cass at school, we had our ‘only us time’ enjoying our breakfast before our long daily grind begins. In fact, we have been doing this for the past four mornings, where it’s just the two of us having breakfast.  When I told the girls about it, rascal #2 gave me a cheeky grin and said “mummy, you had a DATE with daddy?!”  LOL!! The main reason why we are doing this is because I am getting refresher driving lessons from the hubs. Yep, there has been a hiatus in driving for me for  6 long years and finally, he has gotten me a car (in my favorite color, PINK!) for my 40th birthday this year so that he can tai chi  the Ah Mat chauffeuring job back to me!

Breakfast at 8:30am followed by shopping at Guardian Pharmacy and groceries shopping today 🙂

There was also a plate of tuna croissant combo and another bag of pastries and Danish pastries which are not shown in this picture. While I enjoy our “only us time” together, this is not good on my weight-watching plan! With such lovely breakfast everyday for the past 4 days and for another week, it is definitely good on my lips but a sure disaster on my hips!!

In Just A Few Days…

… my baby girl will turn 5! Oh how time flies!!  We have gone through loads of ups and especially downs together and every birthday that she gets to celebrate healthily is an occasion that we ought to rejoice.  She already has a birthday celebration plan in her head.  Yesterday, this was what she told me…

Cass – mummy, this year can I celebrate my birthday in school please? I want to bring a cake to school and celebrate with my friends because I have never done it before, can?  Pleassssse?

Me – OK, IF you listen to me and  be good.

Cass – I want a Hello Kitty strawberry birthday cake ok?

Me – It’s hard to find a Hello Kitty strawberry cake.  Do you want a jelly cake?

Cass – NO!  I DON’T like jelly cake!!

Me – what about the green tea red bean cake from RT? (that’s our all-time favorite cake)

Cass – NO! I DON’T like green tea cake from RT!  I only want Hello Kitty strawberry cake!

Me – OK, if you listen to me!  And  where would you like to go to celebrate your birthday? Do you want KFC or McDonalds? Or Japanese? Or Korean food?

Cass – Korean food! Er no, Japanese food! And I want to order Chawan Mushi.  I want a Hello Kitty strawberry birthday cake to celebrate in school and I want Japanese food, mummy ok?

My kids are so lucky for they can plan their own birthday celebration.  35 years ago on my 5th birthday, all I got was only a classic butter or sponge cake with icing and colorful flowers made of  wafer as decor on my birthday cake.  That was already a luxury.  And being able to have dinner at KFC or A&W was like a 5-star meal which my brothers and I would be so grateful and thankful for!

To all my valued blog readers, you will be unable to post comment in this blog temporarily while my website host is trying to resolve a slight technical glitch right now. Thanks to Submerryn, my blog friend, who told me late last night that she was unable to post comment in my blog, else the error would have gone unnoticed.  Thankfully I am still able to upload new posts.  Be patient, we will be up and about again! 😉

HFM’s Angels

This picture is just a run-of-the-mill picture. There is nothing different or special about it.  I did not intend to upload this picture into my blog initially. But when I goggled at it for a little while more, I suddenly remembered that this was what I wanted so badly and had fantasized about 10 years ago.  I told Him during our dark period that I could give up anything if He could grant me just one child. I was not greedy. All I wanted was only one child of my own. You know, when you keep getting negative scans, miscarriage and everything that was unfavorable, you will lose hope and faith above all. The Lord has been kind to me. He gave me not just one but three beautiful angels, albeit I can’t deny the fact that they are a real handful who can torture me mentally and physically everyday. But I have no complaints. I had wanted them so badly so no matter how challenging they are to me, they are gifts and bonuses to me from Him.
