Our family centers on food and gatherings to celebrate just about any occasion. There’s no other better way to make my man very merry than through very good food! For the first time, my foodie hubs roasted a big fat stuffed turkey for us. Since it was his very first time, he had to watch You Tube and surf the net to get ideas!
Can you see the Twin Towers at the background, all brightly lit up? KL Towers is on the left but is not shown in the pic. Our unit has a perfect view of the 2 famous landmarks of the city of KL. We get to enjoy fireworks and laser lights display from the Twin Towers, KL Tower and Little India on New Years Eve and on the eve of major festivals. The first year that we moved into this condo, we were all so excited to be able to capture such a magnificent view of the fireworks displays from major spots around KL during New Year’s Eve but after a few times, we all don’t find it a thrill anymore.
The hubs soaked the big fat turkey in fresh milk for 24 hours before roasting it for over 2 hours. Turkey stuffings are cocktail sausages, zucchini, US potatoes, bell peppers, big onions and carrots. The purpose of soaking the turkey in milk is to tenderize the meat, without the use of synthetic tenderizer.
Desserts include Haagen Dazs ice creams, X’mas minced pie and cookies made by hubs’ aunt, fruits, fruit cake and a chocolate log cake.
