Baby’s Unlucky Day

Yesterday was Baby’s unlucky day. There was a party organized by the condo management yesterday evening. The girls were having loads of fun playing and running around at the corridor next to the pool side where the party was held. Baby was running like a puppy off the leash, as fast as she could and I could not catch up with her. First she rammed into her little aunt’s back and fell, landing on the back of her head, like a tortoise that had turned upside down. She bawled. About 15 minutes later, she gave me another heart beat flatline. She ran into a boy who was on his scooter and fell… then the boy on the scooter ran over her right leg (shin). She yelled her lungs out. I was shocked. I quickly pulled her up and saw a dent and some grazes on her shin. I thought that her leg was broken… imagine a 8-9yo chubby boy on his steel scooter (total weight around 25kg) ran over her leg!!! There was an immediate blue black bruise on the leg. We quickly took ice cubes and applied on the leg… and forehead. There was also a bruise on her forehead. Gosh, Baby cried uncontrollably for at least 15 minutes…. while I applied ice cubes on her leg and forehead. The boy apologized politely and appeared guilt stricken… then his mum came to apologize. After the cry-out session, we put Baby on the ground and asked her to walk. My fear and worry were allayed when she walked and ran again like a puppy let out of the cage. God has sent a guardian angel to watch over and protect my Cassandra. She had survived 2 major surgeries and 4 horrible accidents (a stroller accident with me about 2 years ago, a fall from 2 stacked-up plastic chairs at a coffee shop, a fall from her booster seat on the dining table chair and this scooter accident). Thank you Lord for watching over Cassandra and please continue to protect her always, Amen!

Baby eating organic rice crackers, soy bean crackers and soup for dinner last Sunday. She was down with fever and purging for 3 days. Alycia and Sherilyn were down with fever and purging too this week and had skipped school for a week.

A New Gold Necklace Perhaps

We spent over 5 hours hanging out at the shopping mall yesterday. First we had lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant and then had herbal jelly at a newly opened herbal jelly restaurant next door. After lunch and dessert, we went shopping. The shopping mall was packed with people and most of the shops were filled with people, including the jewelry shops. I was very tempted to walk into a jewelry shop to have a look at the gold necklaces as I have intention of getting a new gold necklace. Despite the price of gold going up, people are still buying gold jewelry and gold bullion. Why not when gold is a safe investment? I may trade in some of my old gold jewelry to get a new and stylish necklace.

A Galore of Good Food

Ever since my mil came back from Hong Kong, I don’t have to crack my head to whip up food for my 3 kiddos. Everyday, there will be piping hot yummy food served on the dining table – twice a day. There will be cakes, buns and breads baked several times a week, oh goodie!! Kiddos’ finger and toe nails all trimmed by their mah mah and finally their private 24-hour Mandarin tutor is back!

Another Vain Pot

Baby is another vain pot who tops her Sherilyn jie jie. At only 2.5 yo, she is already vainer than Sherilyn when she was Baby’s age. Baby is obsessed with those Busha animal and fruit pants that I sell in my eStore. The other day my Busha pants stock arrived. She sapu the strawberry busha pants from me and wanted to sapu the other designs too. But I couldn’t let her have them as they belonged to my customers. I had kept those busha pants inside my cupboard but this fler crept out from the bed at night, opened the cupboard and kept looking at them *slap forehead*

Yesterday she wore the strawberry busha pants out for lunch.  When she woke up from her nap in the evening, she kept asking me “where’s my strawbrey pants?”.  While Baby is obsessed with those busha pants, Sherilyn is crazy over those colorful flower headbands that I sell.  When she saw those flower headbands when the stock arrived, she also pinched the pink one away from me.  But I couldn’t let her have it too as it belonged to my customer.  I gave her another color but she just wouldn’t accept it… and then bawled and sulked the whole afternoon!  Only Alycia isn’t crazy over these girlish stuff.  She would go gaga if I have Ben 10 and Transformer stuff!

Nasi Lemak Crazed Girls

My 3 girls are great fans of nasi lemak. Even Baby loves eating “nashi lumak” and can chomp down a small bowl of the coconut milk rice on its own. Alycia loves spicy food and can stomach the sambal and chicken curry. Sometimes when the sambal is too spicy for her, she will gasp and run to the fridge to gulp down milk. But this will not deter her. Whenever my bones are feeling heavy and I don’t feel like cooking, I will take away 2 packets of nyonya nasi lemak after jogging round the neighborhood in the morning. When the girls are back from school, I will heat up the rice in the microwave oven.

My 2 Underaged Store Assistants

I almost flipped when I saw my stock at the door yesterday. My husband needed a trolley to push the boxes of stock back. There were over 100 pieces of Doomagic pillowcases, Disney Storybook Pillows, Sesame Street Sunglasses, Thomas Train sets, headbands, clothes and many more. I just didn’t know how to get started. But I had a light bulb moment again *ting ting!@@* Since Alycia had just finished her final exam, I roped both my older girls in to help me and they were excited, really excited and happy. Each time my stock of kids’ clothes and kids stuff arrive, they will be more excited than me.

Here you go, my 2 earnest store assistants helping me and I must say that they are really good, even Sherilyn… who managed to help me count my Doomagic pillowcases and the figures all tallied with my record!

After a hard day’s work, I rewarded them with something that they chose from my stock – Disney seals for them to do painting / stamping.

The parcels all ready at the door step, for the postman to collect them today. This is just 1/3 of the stock. I have some more stashed inside my cupboard and some lying in the living room When my soon-to-arrive stock comes next week, I will put them into pos laju flyer bags. I’ll bet my 2 earnest helpers will be more than glad to help mummy out *thank God for giving me girls!!*

Best Friends Forever

People say that there must be the right chemistry between 2 people for them to click. I think it’s so true. Alycia and Baby are an item. They enjoy each other so much and are an item. If only Alycia could be this chummy with Sherilyn, I don’t have to have volcanic sessions everyday, with lava spewing forth when they fight like cats and dogs.

Yesterday, I caught Alycia putting her hand over Baby’s shoulder. Alycia was having her lunch and Baby was seated next to her favorite jie jie. The hand over Baby’s shoulder was to prevent Baby from falling off the chair again.

Such a heartwarming sight and I really hope that my 3 girls will love each other and care for each other forever….

Princess In Yellow

My princess wannabe participated in her concert recently. Last year, she wore a red suit and danced the ‘Chicken Dance’. This year, she donned on a bright yellow costume and performed in a modern dance. Too bad I could not attend her concert again as it was the eve of Alycia’s final exam and I had to stay home to to do last minute revision with her. I don’t have the time to do regular revision with Alycia due to time constraint and I normally spend a day or two to do some last minute revision with her. Last year, Sher’s concert was also held on the eve of Alycia’s final exam. I hope that next year, her concert will not be on the eve of Alycia’s exam again as it’s going to be Sher’s graduation from pre-school.

This vain pot who is normally the queen of dilly dally was super kancheong on the day before and on the morning of her concert. On the night before the concert, she kept telling me that she had to sleep early so that she could wake up early the next day to prepare for the concert. She was really looking forward to the make-up and wearing the pretty costume. I didn’t have to raise my voice to rush her on that day. When I got back from the gym, she was already all set to go, except for the hair and make-up that she had to wait for me. If only she could be this disciplined every single day to get ready for school or tuition, my life will be such a breeze!

Another Little Drama With Cassandra

Today, another little drama concerning Baby and her jie jies’ bedroom unfolded.  When I came back from the gym this morning, my helper told me that she saw papers, Alycia’s watch and some toys outside the window of the girls’ bedroom, about 1 meter below the window on the ledge.   Some of the coloring book pages and toys were resting on the window ledge of the fourth floor unit.  We knew instantly who the culprit was.  It must be Baby, with rascal #2 who must have been the partner in crime who threw those stuff down.  Over here, the condo Management is very strict with cleanliness and the maintenance of the condo.  Hubby had to use a long stick to push the stuff off the window ledge and use a scissors to ‘fish’ back some of the papers.  My helper then went to the 1st floor and climbed over the little fence to gain entry to the balcony to collect the stuff that flew down from the 5th floor.  We reprimanded Baby but this cili paid said “no, not me, Kay Yi jie jie did!”  *slap forehead*

Trapped Inside The Room All Alone

Who? Cassandra!  Yesterday… for a good 15 minutes in her jie jies’ bedroom and thank God she did not hurt herself.

I have always had a phobia of my girls’ fingers being pinched by doors ever since Sherilyn’s thumb was crushed by a metal door when she was 1.5 yo.  The bone was a little cracked and the nail was yanked off. It was a terribly gory scene.  Since then, I always make it a point to double and triple check that all the bedroom doors have 2 door stoppers on each door, ie. one U-shape stopper on the door and another stopper in between the bottom of the door and the floor.  I even have a hook-type door stopper from Cosway for my own bedroom.  My 2 older girls have a habit of removing the door stoppers so that they could close the door and have some privacy and mad fun inside the bedroom, especially when I am busy… and they sure know how to take advantage of the situation.  This will usually drive me berserk and screaming on top of my voice.  They love banging the doors and lock themselves inside, and invite Baby into the room to play too.

Yesterday, Alycia removed the door stoppers of her bedroom door and went inside to play with Baby and Sherilyn.  Moments later, Sherilyn yelled “Uh oh mummy, Baby is inside the room and the door is LOCKED!!”  I  dashed to the room and my mil zoomed to get the bunch of keys.   But sh*t, we have not yet labeled the keys and we had to go through 2 big boxes of keys, holy moly!  Baby was knocking on the door and screaming to get out.  There was a chair inside the room and I was worried sick that she would climb on the chair and fall off the chair.  The worst case scenario ran through my mind… Baby fell and injured herself…. we can’t find the damn key to the door…. she loses consciousness…. we have to yank off the door knob with a big hammer… only to find her lying on the floor motionless. Boy, I tell yer, I can be very dramatic and morbid.  Thank God after 15-20 minutes we found the damn key.  I chided Alycia and Sherilyn like a mad woman cursing a criminal.  My mil and I then tried all the keys for all the door and labeled them.

Good lesson learned for us … and for you too if you haven’t already labeled your door keys!
