Ever since my mil has gone to HK, our meals are pretty simple and easy to cook. I normally cook 2 dishes and there is always a soup. At least twice a week, I will either fry noodles, fry rice, cook spaghetti / pasta or cook porridge. I only cook once in the afternoon and then everyone eats the same thing again for dinner. Sometimes, we eat the same thing again the next day – for lunch haha! That rarely happens, unless my girls are crazy over that dish.
I always make sure that there is a protein dish and a fibre dish served at each meal. Red meat and seafood are rarely cooked. Fish is cooked every other day. Greens are served everyday.
Here’s one of my dinners:
Fried yee mein (I cooked this in the afternoon – for lunch and dinner!), stir-fried brocolli with chicken slices and a long beans-onions omelette. The brocolli and omelette dish were too big a portion and we had this again for lunch the next day.
Are your menus pretty much the same as mine too? Would love to hear yours too 🙂

i really salute you. don’t know where you find the time to even cook so many dishes. you are a good mommy, Shireen 🙂
recook or reheat is double overcooking therefore loss of nutrients esp for greens!
Yummy…U r also a good chef.
For me, I seldom cook food in big portion,I prefer to eat everything finish during the dinner time.
I dun cook big portions except for meat. Usually one vege n one meat/fish. I also like to cook either baked/mashed potatoes or potato salad n serve with a grilled meat/fish. Then either roast/steam vege or again, salad! Western style lar. No stir-frying, kitchen also not dirty hahaha
Hehehe! Long bean omelete, stir fried brocolli and soup are my all time cooking menu, but i seldom fried noodle one.
Nice and simple dinner. I seldom cook as my MIL will in charge of cooking.
ur cooking skill is great….all the dishes look so good..simple yet delicious!!!

I lagi simple..usually can be the same dish for dinner more than 1 nite for hubby n I…
yummy! looks like what i’d usually cook for dinner too, except the noodles.
We usually hv rice for dinner (on w’days). With 1 vege n 1 meat/fish n soup (on alt days). Sometimes really sien to think of wat to (ask Kakak to) cook. That’s y I prefer to eat out on w/ends. :p
Well at least you got something good and yummy dishes for your kids everyday.
I’m a lazy mummy i always tried to cook one pot dish like stews, chicken rice etc which is easier to prepare.
