Exactly a month ago, it was Baby C’s first day post op. She was puking and retching the whole day and had bunches of tubes all over her body. I was waiting anxiously in the hospital for her to get well, with a heart crushed into a zillion pieces and praying for our nightmare to end…. and I never imagined that we would stay there for almost a month. Thank God, Baby C’s well now and she’s back to her usual self again, albeit she’s really skinny now and at times, I really do think she looks like an Ethopian malnourished child…. with a big belly and a real tiny frame. But oh well, as long as she’s happy and eating well now without puking anymore, I’m already thankful to God.
She’s now learning to walk all over again. Had she not been lying in the hospital for almost a month, I am very certain she’s now walking and running everywhere steadily…. I’m not complaining nor comparing her with Alycia and Sherilyn who were walking and running steadily at Baby C’s age…. I am already thankful that my sweetie-pie survived her ordeal. Some people really thought she would not make it.
Here’s what Baby C’s been doing in Ipoh, at koong koong and granny’s house :

And I am one happy mummy again, loving her even more each day. Notice the scar on her right chest? She had a cut there to put in the central venous catheter for her TPN drips and a cut on her right neck (can’t be seen here). My baby is one very, very, very tough cookie.Â

ahhh…she got a haircut 🙂 baby C looks like a boss, sitting with one leg up…hahahahah. though she has lost a lot of weight, she still looks adorable. i’m so glad that this tough lil’ cookie is back to normal again 🙂 can’t wait to see all of you 😀

I am sure Baby C will catch up on her weight soon. She has just been thru 2 major surgeries. It takes time to heal the wound and take some time to gain weight.
Her chubby face masks her weight. Really sum toong but nvm, slowly but surely she’ll regain her weight.
Glad that Baby C is fully well now.
So happy that BB C is back to her ownself and enjoying her 2 doting cheh chehs company.
Dun worry about her weight she will slowly regain back her much needed weight soon.
hi shireen, i was lost in action and only found out about baby c’s ordeal. it’s very heartbreaking. my heart goes out to her with all she had to endure at such a young age, but i’m sure this toughens her up alright. Glad to know everything is fine now.
Baby C’s hair got cut!!! Yes indeed she is a tough little cookie. Don’t worry about her weight – it’s just a matter of time. Great to see her reunited with her cheh chehs again 🙂
Shireen, both you and baby C are tough and because of this, she pulled through. I’m really glad to hear this news. I have been busy and didn’t catch up with your posts. Now that I read your previous post, I knew you have gone through the toughest time but all is over and she would lead a normal life again. Baby C looks thin but I’m pretty sure that she would grow well under her parents’ and sisters’ love and care. BTW, I didn’t realise there’s a donation drive going on. Have not been visiting Paik Ling’s blog as well. So, I actually missed that. If you ever need any help from me, do let me know. Take care Shireen.
