Baby C’s Shopping Trip Wearing Her First Pair Of Shoes

We brought baby to Jaya Jusco @ Kinta City yesterday morning to get koong koong a Father’s Day gift. It was her first time wearing her new shoes at a shopping center. Baby still doesn’t have the guts to walk on her own yet at a public place. However, over the past few days, we caught her walking a few steps unaided when she was all soaked up playing with her toys.

Baby C getting a helping hand from granny and Alycia cheh cheh.

I bought McD ice-cream for Alycia and Sherilyn cheh cheh.   Gave baby a few licks and boy did she love it and kept asking for more.   My mum went to the Information And Services Counter and rented a baby pram for baby for free.

Did I mention that my skinny mini’s diapers have recently been reverted to M size?   Before her surgeries, baby was wearing L size diapers but after the 2 surgeries, her L size diapers were falling off her butt and so oversized for her skinny frame that her pee kept leaking out 🙁   I wonder when my skinny mini’s weight will ever reach 10kg.  She’s now the weight of Alycia when Alycia was 6-7 months old.   Ok ok ok, I should stop comparing and complaining now but but but I just can’t help being obsessed with her weight.  Instead, I should thank God everyday that baby survived her ordeal.

BTW, daddy’s on his way to Ipoh now.  We will finally return to KL tomorrow, after being away for more than a month.   I hope baby will settle down without any fuss after leaving her nest for so long.

  1. Us mummies always have to worry about something LOL! “Man man lei”, afterall she has just gone through a very traumatic month. As long as she’s getting the necessary nutrients (vits, fibre, minerals), gaining fat will come with time. Ice-cream is a good start! 🙂 Have a safe trip home……..home sweet home!

  2. just curious… i’ve noticed you give Bb C different varieties of food… very liberally. as in, being a health freak, do u think it’s advisable to give a 1yo steam eggs, and ice cream… and maybe some other food stuff you gave her? my doc has adviced only fresh food, ie fruits vege, home cooked, non preserved, no coloring, no flavouring, no salt, no sugar… eventho we can let them try adult food we still hv to be cautious.

just a view but would like to know what you think since u have 3 kids and i have only 2, and maybe you’re more health freak than me (i’m also one of those cleanaholics)

  3. Irene… cooked eggs can be fed to babies above 1 yo. In fact, I started feeding BBC with eggs when she was 11 mo. The reason why babies below 1yo shd not be fed with eggs is becoz of the possible risk of allergy. Luckily my 3 gals hv no allergy with eggs.
As for ice-cream, cakes, I only let BBC try the most 1 teaspoon or 2-3 licks…. nothing like 1 whole scoop of ice cream or 1 slice of cake lar.
I don’t add any salt or sugar in BBC’s meals as I don’t want her to be used to them. I rarely feed her with adult food and if I do, I wash away any soy sauce or seasoning that’s stuck to the food (like tofu or fish) with drinking water.
One of my doctors even fed his toddler son with raw egg white when his son refused to eat any food. When his son was really underweight, he added raw egg white into his son’s milk for the added protein! I was shocked to hear that.
And yes, I still believe in natural and fresh food like fruits and veggie w/o any coloring, MSG, preservatives, excessive salt and sugar. I think a little of salt and sugar is ok. Salt and sugar are important for one’s body too. When BBC was hospitalized, she was on sodium and glucose drips (salt and sugar) for almost 3 weeks.

  4. Hi,

I born, stayed and worked in Taiping. 1 hr from Ipoh. If you happen to bring your angels to Taiping zoo in future, let me know. After you return to KL, please do not forget to continue updating us on Baby C’s progress. I really love to know to it.

  5. It’s so nice to see Baby C walking outside. And she’s really good la… to let her granny and cheh cheh hold her hands. Whenever I try to hold Elyssa’s hand, she’ll resist and try to pull her hand back.

  6. Someone is so looking forward in going home… Yup, after a month, i’m sure u r missing bed, ur home, ur sofa..ahahhaha

No worries on BBC. She will chalk up her weight soon..

  7. she will slowly gain back her weight. afterall she just had surgeries and hardly ate anything. now that her appetite is back, am sure she will gain again.

  8. My girl also very “tham chiak” wan, always wanna eat what we eat 😀

Glad to hear that you guys will be coming home soon!

  9. she looks happy walking around the mall. don’t worry, i’m sure she’ll put on weight in no time since mommy is a very good cook 😀 can’t wait to see all of you in KL 😉

  10. I think she doesn’t look THAT skinny mini after all. If you’re comparing her current size with her pre-surgery size, of course there will be a difference. With all the good food that u feed her, I’m sure her weight will catch up pretty fast. Just be patient & dun worry too much!

  11. aiyoh, so sum tung rite? shan rae has not been putting on any weight too. it started when he got his chicken pox last sept. ever since, he was falling sick more often. till now, he is still & only 8.36kg *sob, sob* he is down with fever, flu & cough again…

anyway, glad to know baby c can stand on her own unaided!
