Last night, baby’s hand looked puffy and swollen again. Our doctor had to come to the hospital at 10:30pm to re-insert the IV line AGAIN. Poor baby has a dozen holes in her hands now. She’s just one of those babies whose skin is very sensitive to needles. It could also be the plaster and bandage tied round her hand that’s causing the puffiness.
When we went back to our room from the treatment room, Baby C was shivering…. and that scared the sh*it out of me. I was so afraid she would turn blue… thank God she didn’t, though her skin looked a tad mottled. I quickly wrapped her with a blankie and put on socks on her feet. The nurse took her temperature… it was 37.7 degrees Celsius.  Twenty minutes later, her temperature shot up to 38.9 degrees Celsius. Though she was shivering, my maid and I coaxed her with much difficulty to eat her Motillium meds (to move her guts forward). Later, the nurse gave her a suppository and a cold pack for her body. I sponged her body the whole night. Thank God her fever subsided several hours later. I doubt all the suppositories that had been inserted into her rectum had any effect in bringing her temperature down coz the suppositories always came out together with her stools… a few hours later or a few days later! The nurses knew about this and had informed the pharmacy to write to the manufacturer of the suppository.
The good news is that Baby C hasn’t vomited since yesterday. She has also been pooping lots and has lots of wind irritating her tummy and causing her much distress. This is caused by the medication that’s supposed to move her guts forward.  Since she hasn’t thrown up since yesterday, our surgeon and the chief pediatrician gave me the green light to breastfeed her. The chief ped told me that breast milk is really therapeutic and it’s the best food for baby now. I am praying hard that my baby will not vomit the breast milk out later. Gosh, I tell you, my sweetie-pie was really enjoying her mek mek and she was really upset when I had to pull her away.
This pic was taken 2 days ago when Baby C had high fever. She was really weak and listless. I hope she will regain her strength and zeal today after getting in some power breast milk this morningl

I am so happy to read this post. Yay to Baby C.
Glad to hear that the vomiting stopped and she can nurse again.
the suppository after used will dispose this white thinggy and slimy like vaseline kind. Same with my kids and also myself. I used that after i gave birth to control the contraction. Very funny feeling but its normal. I realy hope she gets better asap. I wanna see her smile again 🙂
yes, i read somewhere that breast feeding can enhance the immune systems than anything else..good to hear that baby c is getting better
that’s really good news… Baby C.. no more vomiting ya.. drink mama’s mek mek
yeah!!!! good to hear that baby C gets to enjoy her mek-mek again!! I can’t sleep last nite and keep on thinking about this, and asked myself last night about the goodness of bm for baby C. Afterall she is your flesh and blood and with this truth, your MILK should be the best medicine with the highest nutrients for baby C. She would absorb the goodness of it best. Not even the best medication in the world can beat your mek-mek for her.
Good to read that the vomiting has stop.
oh yes, I stronly believe in THE LAW OF ATTRACTION? Something u can practise at the hospital such as:
1. Focus and visualise the happiness face of baby C especially her happy moments, tell yourself she will soon be playing happily again.
2. Whisper positive message to baby C, such as, ” Quick heal, then we go home and play with jiejie, both of them waiting for you” or even pass the handphone to Baby C, letting her sisters talk to her.
3. Sing her favourite tune that you know, reminding her of her favourite DVD at home.
I hope by making her wanting to go home, will speed up her recovery. My mum said, although babies may be young, they can understand us greatly and feel us.
Although she looked so weak in her photos, her angelic face and big round eyes can melt everyone heart. Such a beautiful baby.
Mommy’s milk will do wonders! Praying for her speedy recovery 🙂
glad to know she is better & better….get well soon, baby C.
glad to hear that..i am so happy now..
I am glad to hear that she is has given the green light to have her mek mek back again. It’s great that she is on breastmilk still!! Hope she will be alright after her mek mek.
Glad to hear that Baby C is getting better….
Thank God!! I’m so so glad to read this post. Finally Baby C is giving us some good news. I hope the next post title will be, “We’re going home”
poor baby C…she has gone down a lot but glad to read about her road to recovery here…kanpatei !!!
I’m so thrill to read that Baby C is getting better…though we don’t know each other…my heart breaks when I read your entries on her post surgeries entries…I can feel your pain and frustration seeing your lil’ precious going through all these…hope you are doing ok too…am sure you’re absolutely tired physically and emotionally…hang in there coz am sure your cute sweetie pie will be back to her normal cheeky self soon 🙂 Take good care and hugs and kisses to Baby C. Hope she will get well very very soon….
Btw, I agree with Chin Nee that whispering sweet and positive messages will motivate her…I did the same when my son was on tubes due to a vey bad infection when he was first born..but when i whisper to him and touch him I can sense he was listening and his heartbeat became faster and stronger too…I was overjoyed and had tears in my eyes…so keep whispering to her and tell her how much you love her…your family and especially Baby C will be in my prayers…keep praying too as it does help…
Happy…really happy to read about this post. Get well soon, baby C…
So happy to hear that. Breast milk is the best medicine.

GREAT NEWS!!! I’m looking forward to hearing more positive updates on the little warrior!
so happy to hear that BB C can take her mek mek. 🙂
Lets hope the fever is the end of it all. Cannot wait to see her tomorrow. I have a gift for her. 😉
Baby C is one tough cookie. Speedy recovery.
I really do hope she will fully recover and does not have to go through anymore suffering and pain. What Chinnee says is right, I believe in law of attraction as well. You got to visualize her to be healthy and happy and you as the mother has the most power to do that. Have faith and don’t give up hope cos with faith and strong believe that she will heal, she will definitely heal. We will all pray for you too, Shireen. Be strong and your breastmilk will help her.
Hope she can continue to breastfeed and let the wonder milk heal her completely. May God continue to heal her and bless her! Take care of yourself too and eat lots of healthy food so that Baby C can have the best milk!
well done baby C! Speedy recovery ya?
really happy she’s finally taking your mek mek. It’s a good sign of things turning for the better. Cheers to Baby C!!
Baby C faster get well ya.
Atta girl C!! And thank god you kept up your breast milk supply. And once again the person who suggested that breast milk is of no use after one year, well, is a major loser.
Hope this is it for u folks and u can return home and recover. Will cont. to pray for your family.
Hope bb C’s doing well after her 2nd surgery. Poor bb. After reading this post, I thot things r getting better. But she went for surgery again y’day. Praying hard for her speedy recovery. It’s a tough period, but it’ll pass. Hang in there ya. U take good care of urself too.
