Cute Pokemon Mac N Cheese

This is the Pokemon mac n cheese that I bought from Jaya Grocer, which I cooked yesterday:

It’s pretty simple to prepare. First, boil the macaroni until soft. Drain the water. Add in the powdered cheese, some butter and fresh milk to the macaroni and mix well.

I cut out some Kraft singles cheese into Pooh Bear shapes and put on top of the mac n cheese to make it look more appealing and appetizing.

Verdict : tasted satisfactory. As I didn’t use the entire packet of cheese powder, the mac n cheese didn’t taste as good as it should.

To note : the mac n cheese should be served and eaten immediately once cooked…. when it’s still hot, otherwise they will turn hard, clumpy and starchy, which was the case as I had cooked it earlier and kept it for half an hour before Alycia ate it when she returned from her Mandarin enrichment class. Consequently, she didn’t quite like it and didn’t finish the plate of mac n cheese.

While Alycia and Sherilyn ate mac n cheese, Baby C ate apple porridge with 8 other ingredients.  Click here to see the apple porridge.

A Dusty And Deafening Day In The House

I am really pissed, pissed big time. The darn contractors who renovated our condo recently did a really shoddy job to our bathroom flooring. They must have not done a proper water-proofing job on the floor. Thus, the water from our bathroom has been leaking to the bathroom located at the unit below our unit. The leakage has been around for 5 months and the contractors have come to fix the flooring of our bathroom for don’t know how many umpteen times, yet the problem is still not fixed. Each time the contractors came to fix our bathroom, it inconvenienced us terribly as we were not able to use the bathroom and cleaning up the mess after the job was also a laborious task. This time, the leakage is really bad. The contractor is now at our condo to hack our bathroom floor to remove all our beautiful tiles to fix the problem underneath. I tell you, it is darn noisy, dusty and smoky in our house. Darn the contractor’s worker who is also puffing away a cig while drilling our floor. We will not be able to use our bathroom for 5 days and have to rely on the one and only bathroom attached to the master bedroom. The worst part is the darn contractors do not want to bear the cost, aargh!

My initial plan was to go shopping today to get my good friend who is leaving the country soon a farewell gift. I want to complete all my errands and shopping before Baby C goes for a surgery, which is expected to take place within the next 1 to 2 weeks. Now, I have to be stuck at home for at least 3 days to supervise the contractor and his worker. Thankfully there is such a thing as online shopping. I was combing through the net for a suitable gift and stumbled on some ladies bracelet ROTARY WATCHES from Moores Jewellers. These elegant Rotary watches are now on sale, with a 22% discount. After discount, some of the Rotary watches are below £100. I think the ladies bracelet watch would be a fantastic gift for my friend. You may want to check out Moores Jewellers too to shop for a watch for your mum for Mother’s Day.

Meal Time = Battle Time

Meal times have now become a battle for me with Baby C. She now refuses to sit on her high chair for more than 10 minutes. It’s really tiring having to constantly find new and interesting ways to keep her still on her chair. She loves her flash cards session but she would scream in frustration when she doesn’t get to play with the cards, haiz…. When it comes to playing with her masak-masak (pretend play) bowls, plates and spoons, she has now become bored of them and keeps throwing them on the floor, aargh!

She now likes having her cheh cheh playing peek-a-boo with her on her high chair… like this :

BBC's tied up hair, wean-off bottle 002

BBC's tied up hair, wean-off bottle 006
… and she hardly ever gets enough of having her cheh cheh play with her and talk to her. The sight of her 2 cheh chehs will surely make her squeal in delight… and I just love to see that 🙂

BBC's tied up hair, wean-off bottle 010
How long can these toy plates, cups and spoon last on her table?   Not even 5 minutes and then you’ll see them all strewn on the floor.  Her after-meal times are back-breaking for both kakak and me as we will be picking up her toys, wiping the floor and scrubbing away porridge and food stuck to her table, chair and safety belt.

A Galore Of Cute Mac & Cheese

While I was shopping for groceries at Jaya Grocer @ Jaya 33 PJ recently, I came across these:

Nagomi, cute mac&cheese, bibs 027
A galore of mac & Cheese by Kraft.  I have never seen so many choices of Mac & Cheese at other supermarkets, at least not in KL… and I was really tempted to buy a box each but only settled for one… just in case my 2 fussy eaters don’t like them.

Nagomi, cute mac&cheese, bibs 026
Spoilt for choice…. macaroni & cheese made with 50% whole grain in the shape of popular cartoon characters from Scooby Doo to Spiderman, Square Pants Sponge Bob, Pokemon and much more.

 Nagomi, cute mac&cheese, bibs 025

I asked Alycia to pick her choice and she chose a box of Pokemon.  Each box cost RM6.90 and is just enough for Alycia and Sherilyn for 1 meal.

Baby C Finally Overcame Her Fear Of Froggie Bowl

In my recent post, I mentioned that Baby C is terrified of her green froggie bowl with 2 huge eyes. Well, despite the fear, I still gave her the bowl to play during mealtimes – to keep her still on her highchair and to help her overcome her fear. After a few times, my sweetiepie has now overcome her fear of Mr Green Froggie bowl…yay… way to go baby! Now, I have to help her to overcome her fear of the roaring thunder and the sound of the hairdryer!  It’s her daily battle with these 2 sounds!

Yay… no more scared scared of green froggie!

Yamaha Rhino ATV Rollover Accidents

Hey there, if you, your loved ones or your friends own a Yamaha Rhino vehicle, please read on this post. It could save lives. The Yahama Rhino ATV (introduced in 2003 by Yamaha Motor Corporation) has been notorious with a high number of rollover accidents, resulting in deaths and serious injuries. The high incidences of Yamaha Rhino Rollover accidents is caused by serious design flaws in the Yamaha Rhino, where the top is heavy, thus prone to rollover, even at minimum speeds on level ground.

Common injuries suffered as a result of the Rhino rollover include broken legs (tibia), broken arms, and devastating head and spinal cord injuries. Many Rhinos did not come with doors on the passenger compartment, thus when the Rhino rolls, the passenger sticks their leg out to try and balance the vehicle. Unfortunately, the passenger or driver is typically unable to balance the vehicle and it rolls over crushing the driver’s or passenger’s leg.

Let’s take a look at the grim Rhino accident statistics. In 2006 alone, an estimated 555 people – including 100 children – were killed in accidents involving ATVs. Another 146,600 people – more than one quarter of them children – were treated in United States emergency rooms for ATV-related injuries in 2006, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

If you, a loved one or your friend has been injured in a Yamaha Rhino ATV accident, you have rights. You may be eligible for financial compensation for your medical bills, pain and suffering, lost income and other damages. The attorneys at Mark & Associates, P.C., will fight to achieve the best possible legal outcome in your case. Please contact their offices today for a free consultation about your potential Rhino case. Call 1-866-50-RIGHTS (1-866-507-4448).

Xiao Fei Yang Steamboat

This is the delicious pot of  steamboat which we had at Xiao Fei Yang, a restaurant specializing in Taiwanese steamboat. We celebrated Baby C’s first birthday at this restaurant.

The soup was simply delectable but I was told not to gulp down too much of the soup as it could be very heaty. Why heaty?  That’s because it has lots of herbs in it, coupled with the broth from the beef and lamb meat that were cooked inside the pot of soup.

Check out my other blog to get details of the restaurant and to view more pix.

Investment

I was informed by my mum that the government’s stimulus package Savings Bond (Sukuk Simpanan Rakyat) will be up for grabs in just a few days. The minimum investment is RM1k and maximum is RM5k. The bond will have a maturity of three years with an annual return of 5% which will be paid quarterly to bond holders. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will be lucky enough to purchase the savings bond. The annual return of 5% is double that of the current fixed deposit savings’ interest. I can anticipate that all the banks will be flooded with people hoping to get a slice of the cake. I wish I had the time to queue up to lay my hands on a slice of the cake too. If I can’t get hold of the bond this time, I may consider investing my money in something more profitable like gold. It’s such a heartache seeing my money sitting in the bank earning peanuts now.

My Super Vain-Pot Loves Wearing Sexy Dresses

This happened about 2 Saturdays ago.  On that morning, daddy wanted to bring Alycia to the paed’s clinic in a hospital and Sherilyn demanded to tag along too.  She would never ever want to be left out whenever daddy brings her cheh cheh to anywhere, even to the hospital or the clinic.  While Alycia changed into a t-shirt and denim skirt, my super vain-pot rushed to her wardrobe and sifted through all her dresses and fished this sexy dress out:

It’s a halter-neck beach dress with a bare-back and sea-shells hanging on the front of the dress. Gosh, don’t you think she looked a tad kwah cheong for wearing this dress to the hospital? Oh btw, did I mention she wanted to wear her Princess Aurora costume from HK Disneyland to the Taiwanese steamboat restaurant on Baby C’s birthday?  Of course I said no to her request.

There is also a draw-string at the back of the dress.  No one taught this princess wannabe how to pose and I must say she’s got flair for posing hor? Hehe…

Can’t blame her on her preference for dresses, especially sleeveless and sexy ones coz her mummy is just like that, hah!

Coffee With A Cause

One of the must-have drinks for me every morning is my cup of decaffeinated coffee. After a glass of plain water, followed by a cup of diluted apple cider vinegar drink with psyllium husk and a half-hour rest, I will enjoy my cup of decaf coffee with skim milk. Then off I go for my morning work-out either in the gym or a jog round the neighborhood. Before Baby C came along, I used to drink regular coffee. The aromatic smell of coffee at any time of the day can really life up my mood. In fact everyone in our family is a coffee lover, especially my mil who only drinks gourmet coffee. She even buys premium coffee beans and grinds her own coffee powder in a special coffee grinder! I think she will really appreciate it if I got her a pack of MAYA EARTH COFFEE imported from Guatemala.

Maya Earth Coffee is grown by Mayan farmers who practice traditional farming techniques that have been passed down through generations. These farmers actively practice composting, terracing, natural pest control and soil and water conservation. Maya Earth Coffee is certified by the USDA Organic and is definitely a healthier choice for coffee lovers. If you are a coffee lover and would like to drink coffee with a cause, do get a bag of Maya Earth Coffee. For every bag of coffee ordered from Maya Earth Coffee, 10% will be donated back to the farmers in Guatemala and not-for-profit organizations in the USA.

Baby C Is Walking

Just like her 2 cheh chehs who were both early walkers, Baby C is now walking. She started to cruise at 6 months and at 12 months, she can now walk quite fast with me holding her hand. However, she is still trying to balance herself when walking on her own without any aid. She could nonetheless walk a few steps unaided when placed on the floor. She still feels more comfortable crawling as she could move faster from one place to another in a crawling mode.

BBC's 1st bday, purple cauliflwr, bbc eats egg 012
My sweetiepie is just like her 2 rambunctious cheh cheh as she would go gaga too over balloons. At the mention of the word ‘balloon’ or when she sees the picture of a balloon, she will give me a wide cheeky grin, hehe.

Baby C trying to get cheh cheh’s balloons. Sweet Alycia cheh cheh volunteered to lie down on the couch to catch baby, just in case she falls.

I have to compress this pic to the smallest size coz at Flickr, the medium size pic is still too big to fit perfectly into my blog page. When resized, Baby C’s face is distorted.

How We Celebrated Baby C’s Birthday

You know what? I’m suffering from insomnia now. You must be thinking how a severely sleep-deprived mommy like me would suffer from insomnia, right? Well, I know I am exhausted and sleepy but darn the Chinese tea that I kept drinking over dinner at the restaurant just now. My body is really sensitive to the caffeine in Chinese tea and I shouldn’t have drunk it at night. But I was darn thirsty and the weather has been really hot.

We had a real sumptuous Taiwanese steamboat to celebrate Baby C’s first birthday, with some relatives. Gosh, the soup base for the steamboat was so tasty. It had generous amounts of herbs and garlic pips and I kept drinking the soup and feasting on the delicious super-thinly sliced lamb and beef and meat balls.

Since I can’t seem to fall into slumberland, I might as well update everyone on how we celebrate my sweetie-pie’s birthday. Well, it wasn’t anything grand but we enjoyed the Taiwanese steamboat very much. I shall blog about this restaurant in my next post.

I was glad that my sweetie-pie did not cry when we sang her “Happy Birthday”. She gave us her sweetest smile and a most curious stare at her Pooh Bear jelly birthday cake. When Alycia and Sherilyn celebrated their first birthdays years ago, they wailed big time when we sang “Happy Birthday” to them. They were not used to the hoopla, singing and crowd then but my sweetie-pie is all too familiar with noise and crowd, as she’s got 2 very rambunctious sisters at home.

My birthday wish for Baby C is that she will be healed completely from her current health predicament and that she will have no more UTI attacks after her impending surgery. I hope God will grant her good health, happiness and a bright future. I will be a real proud mommy if she ever becomes a Massachusetts OUI Lawyer, a doctor or someone successful. However, I will still be very happy if she is neither the above but has good health, peace and happiness always.

Baby C Turns One Today

 Hilton Sentral with BBC 016

My sweetiepie is one today! My goodness, time is flying past me so quickly without me realizing it. We’ll be celebrating her birthday with some relatives at a Taiwanese steamboat restaurant tonight. I’ve not been to this restaurant before but according to hubs, the steamboat is pretty good. We have also ordered a Winnie The Pooh jelly cake for her.

My wish for my sweetiepie for her first birthday is that she will have no more UTI attacks ever again, that she will not require anymore jabs, pokes and pricks every month, that her impending surgery will be 100% successful in fixing her problem, that she will always be happy and have perfectly good health.

Delicious Hot Chocolate Drink Made From Chunks Of Chocolate

Chocolate fans will surely go gaga over this hot chocolate drink made from chunks of chocolate – black, brown and white chocolate.  I loved the drink so much that I drank 2 small cups (1/2 cup filled each time) when I was at the Sudu Coffee House @ Hilton Sentral Hotel, KL.

Here’s the chef preparing the hot chocolate drink. First he melted the chocolate chunks in a small stainless steel pot. You can pick the chocolate of your choice. I chosed a combo of black, brown and white chocolate. Then he added some water to the pot. This creamy hot chocolate drink is really addictive and really yummy… and really fei sei! But oh well, my motto is eat and enjoy first, exercise and diet later!

The drink was so syiok that I gulped it down immediately and had forgotten to snap a pic of it!

Tender Moments – Loving Sisters

Though Alycia and Sherilyn fight and bicker all the time, they are nonetheless the best of friends. If one of them is away, the other one will be pretty quiet and lonely as they won’t have a playmate anymore.  The other day, I was really moved when I went into their bedroom and saw this:

Though Sherilyn’s bed is just beneath Alycia’s, she preferred to sleep with her cheh cheh on her single bed… all cramped up. I guess they just want to feel close to each other and feel each other’s warmth eh? But on a hot afternoon? That’s what I call sisterly love!
