Baby C Talks

I must put this on record since this is my sweetiepie’s milestone at 11 months. Baby C has been saying “kakak” for the past several days. Today when I pointed to a picture of a dog printed on a hanky and said “dog” to her several times, she repeated over me and said “dog”!   She also keeps calling her daddy “papa”.  When I pointed to 2 big granite balls at the hotel where we stayed in last night and said “ball ball”, she also said “ball ball”.  She could also answer me “k” on a few occasions when I told her that mummy would be feeding her porridge or biscuit.

Having A Blast In Disneyland Hong Kong

Alycia and Sherilyn don’t seem to miss daddy, mummy or baby at all, not at all.  They are having a time of their lives in Disneyland Hong Kong. When the hubs and I called them yesterday evening and also this morning, my princess wannabe was regaling us with her adventures in Disneyland non-stop. As for Alycia, she was reluctant to talk to us and when she did, she didn’t talk much but only gave such excuses like “I am hungry, I want to eat dinner, bye bye” and “don’t talk too long, it’s very expensive, bye bye”!! Sei moh, maybe she’s even thinking that we are just 2 boring old folks who are checking on her!  I can now picture myself 15 years down the road calling her when she’s left her nest, studying abroad o_o!

Anyway, when I came back from my 1-night stay at Hilton Sentral and checked my email, I had a pleasant surprise awaiting me. My sil had sent me pix of my 2 princesses enjoying themselves in Disneyland:

Characters clearly displayed – a princess wannabe all dressed up like a princess and a pretty tomboy posing like a tomboy!

New Outfit, Bibs And Sunnies From Mothercare For My Sweetiepie

We got these from Mothercare for my sweetiepie when we went shopping the other day:

My main purpose of going to Mothercare was to get Baby C some bibs. Yup, bibs again. I seem to have a fetish with cute bibs with crumbcatcher and I find bibs so useful as they save me so much time from having to clean up the mess on the floor, table and clothes.

While I was busy looking at the bibs and clothes, daddy couldn’t resist getting his sweetiepie a pair of sunnies coz Baby C seems to love wearing her princess wannabe Sherilyn cheh cheh’s Paris Hilton sunnies haha!

Don’t play play, this pair of Sunnies has the Mothercare logo on the rim…. and it looks like a baby’s branded designer eyewear!

And I couldn’t resist getting my sweetiepie this pack-of-2 cute set of attire. But my heart broke when the size meant for her (aged 9-12 months) was oversized for her. And I had to admit that my pint-size baby is underweight and got her the set for babies aged 6-9 months (for weight up to 9kg) *heartbroken*
My sweetiepie only weighs 7.7kg at 11 months 🙁

My Little Sleeping Beauty

… has been sleeping all day coz she took 3 doses of sedation meds this morning in order to knock her out completely for the MAG 3 scan.  I tell you, it was yet another stressful and anxious day for me at the hospital.

After spending the whole morning and afternoon at the hospital today, my sweetiepie only had her porridge at 3pm. To keep her eyes from drooping and to make her sit still while I fed her porridge, I let her hold on to her favorite Pureen baby biscuit.  Throughout the meal, her eyes almost wanted to shut.

After her lunch, my maid and I quickly gave her a bath, which was a struggle for us as she was crabby and sleepy and she kept struggling. She went into a deep sleep again even when I dried her hair with the noisy hair dryer. I think my sleeping beauty will sleep for the next 1-2 days resulting from the effects of the 3 doses of sedation meds.

Hop over to my health blog to read how the MAG 3 scan went and to view pix of the scan.

Peeka-Boo!

My sweetiepie loves playing peeka-boo with us now. One of the ways of keeping her still while we quickly dress her up after her bath is to play peeka-boo with her. My maid will be the one putting a nappy over her face and playing peeka-boo with her and I will hurriedly dress her up and fasten her diaper before she flips over and walk round my bed.

Bah, bah, bah….” (trying to say “boo“) My sweetiepie loves to say this while she puts both her hands on her face, playing peeka-boo with us.

Sending Them Off At KLIA

It was an entire day of packing Alycia and Sherilyn’s luggage and stuff yesterday. Just as we were about to leave the house for the airport, Sherilyn the menace and clumsypot dropped the lunch box that I put all their meds and vitamins. All the bottles of meds and vitamins were scattered on the floor. I tell you, I was enraged, so mad that I could feel steam shooting out from my head. The cap of one of the bottles containing the liquid vitamin broke and the vitamin seeped out.  My maid and I frantically searched for another bottle (a bottle small enough to fit into the tightly packed lunch box) and I quickly poured the vitamin into the new bottle and labeled the bottle.  Long story cut short, we managed to reach the airport just on time.  Didn’t even have the time to have a farewell meal at one of the restaurants as planned. After checking in, I quickly took the girls to the washroom, afterwhich my mil quickly brought them to the departure hall.

As we were all saying our good-byes and waving to each other, Baby C gave us all a surprise when she said “bah bah” (bye bye) and waved her hand at her 2 doting cheh chehs and mah mah!  Not bad for a 11-month old!

Alycia And Sherilyn Have Gone To Hong Kong

… and I have peace and can rest my throat for a week.  So bad huh me to have such feeling? What a lousy mum I am huh?  But it’s a rare opportunity that I can be relieved of my responsibilities over Alycia and Sherilyn.  I really, really need a break and rest.  I’ve got activities lined up from tomorrow through Monday next week.  Going to go shopping, going to call my urut lady to my place again for another urut session, going to check in to a hotel for a night with hubby and Baby C minus the maid, can catch up on my sleep, etc.  But I need to go to bed now.  Baby C has woken up from her sleep and I am typing with one hand with her sitting on my lap. Nite everyone….

Creative Or Bizarre Taste?

My princess wannabe loves to be different and special. And she has a rather creative bizarre sense of taste.  From egg yolk mixed with peanut butter to 5 types of bread spread on her toasts, mixing soy bean milk in her formulated milk everyday to sprinkling Milo in her soybean curd, she tried mixing barley water and Ribena into her loh hon koa herbal drink (a slightly bitter herbal drink made from a dried fruit) the other day!

My brat didn’t want to drink her loh hon koa herbal drink the other day. I told her that it’s good for her cough and she has to drink it. But my brat has a bright idea. She would only gulp it down if I mixed some other drinks  into her herbal drink. And so she searched the fridge and picked up a mug of cold barley water and the bottle of Ribena… and demanded that I mixed them into her herbal drink. Gosh, I wouldn’t even want to try the ‘cocktail’ to see what that yucky concoction tasted like but my brat gulped the cocktail down happily. And guess what she mixed with her herbal drink again yesterday? You wouldn’t believe and guess it right what she mixed it with. I shall blog about it tomorrow.

Our Sunday

Today is the first time hubby and I went shopping with Baby C minus Alycia and Sherilyn. Both Alycia and Sherilyn are down with a cold and we wanted them to get enough rest at home before their trip to Hong Kong next week.

My main purpose of going to Mid Valley Megamall today was to meet up with reps from the advertising agency and from the advertiser. They had wanted to meet me to brief me on what to write in the advertorial. I spent about an hour talking to those very friendly reps at the product roadshow. During the discussion, I was being photographed, as if I were a celebrity blogger LOL! (I know, I know, no where near celebrity status k but I am hoping to be one, one day, hah! Go ahead, throw rotten eggs at me!).  I don’t know if the group of photographers were from the media or from the advertiser.  After meeting with the reps, I went shopping for groceries at Careffour and thereafter at Sinma. Sinma is now having a 1-month promotion where for every RM20 spent, you’ll get a RM10 voucher and for every RM30 spent, you’ll get a RM15 voucher. It’s like buying everything at half the price and I spent almost RM100 buying hair accessories.

After shopping, we had lunch at Canton-I. Since I didn’t bring Baby C’s porridge along, I bought some bread from SBread @ Gardens for her to nibble. I bought half a loaf of black sesame bread and half a loaf of black charcoal bamboo bread. Shall blog about this bread next.  This bread cost  a whopping RM9 a loaf!  Also bought some Papa Beard’s cream puff for Alycia and Sherilyn.

Baby C enjoying herself holding on to the cute Mickey Mouse cutlery and nibbling on the black sesame bread.

Hopefully I can steal some time off tonight to write my advertorial.

Alycia And Sherilyn Down With Cold And Fever

Yesterday just before going for ballet, Sherilyn told me that she felt cold.  I thought that it was just the weather as there was just a downpour and it was really breezy and cold.  She said she wanted to wear a cardigan to the dance school as the air-cond at the ballet studio is really cold.  When she came back from her ballet class, she was wearing her cardigan, all zipped up to her neck and she told me that she felt cold.  However, she appeared ever lively, jovial, active and singing away.  That’s my typical Sherilyn when she’s in a good mood…. always singing and yakking away, really adorable and can make you laugh.  Her body felt a tad hot, so I took her temperature.  It read 37.5 degrees celcius.  She was also sniffing away and coughing slightly, having the exact same symptoms as Alycia.   But Alycia is   really coughing badly and her nose is dribbling non-stop with watery goo.  I coaxed her to drink the fresh olives soup double boiled with lean pork (home remedy for cough) and thank goodness she drank it as I had some organic animal biscuits and a Manuka honey lemon candy for her as treats to go with the soup.

I’m also feeling under the weather – having nose block, lots of phlegm and a slight strep throat.  Have been popping on Echinacea tabs and high doses of Vitamin C.

Tomorrow I have to be at Mid Valley to attend a roadshow that an advertiser has requested me to attend.  The advertiser wants to meet the few bloggers selected to write about the event and product.  I hope all of us get better by tomorrow so that we could all attend the event.  And I hope that Alycia and Sherilyn get well in time to go to Hong Kong next week.

Going To Get Another Flu And Throat Infection

My immune system is at an all-time low lately.  When anyone in the house falls sick, I’ll be the first to be bitten by the bug. This has never happened to me in the past, not until Baby C was born.  All the sleepless nights and worries have taken a toll on my immune system.  Recently my sil, her son and my mil had the sniffles.  Alycia caught the bug and now it’s me.  I’ve just recovered from my chronic cough, strep throat and runny nose and now, I’m getting them again.  I’ve been gargling salt water, drinking water like a camel, popping loads of supplements and sleeping early for 2 days.  I hope I won’t fall sick again.  Bummer, this is really a vicious cycle that goes round and round without an end to it!

Anyway I’ve found a good home remedy for cough, that has healed me from my chronic productive cough.  Check out my health blog to find out.

Ballet’s Trial Ballet Exam

With the help from one of the mothers in Aly’s ballet school, I managed to learn the art of tying a bun. Well, it ain’t difficult at all. Daddy had to go to 3 shops in Mid Valley to get all those black hair clips and hair net. He even spent a whopping RM25 on a hair net from Evita Peroni…. man, they sure don’t know how to shop.

Alycia looks so matured here in a bun, definitely doesn’t look like one who has just turned 5 years old.  I don’t know where she learned how to pose like that, like a pro ballerina lol!

The trial ballet exam turned out well. Alycia did well but has to improve on ‘rhythm hand clapping’. My princess wannabe also followed daddy and Alycia to the dance studio and dressed up like she’s going for Malaysian Idol audition, with her Paris Hilton sunnies on her head, a cardigan and a sexy dress!

Finally My Gals Are Flying To HK Disneyland!

Courtesy of their ever-generous and loving koo mah from HK, Alycia and Sherilyn will fly to HK with mah mah next week for a week during the school holidays. It will be their first visit to HK Disneyland but their 2nd trip to Hong Kong. We brought them to HK when Alycia was 22 months old and Sherilyn was 8 months old. This time, mah mah will single-handedly bring her 2 grand daughters on board the plane to HK. I’m excited for them. I wish I could go too but right now, I need to sort out Baby C’s health problem first. I can imagine how happy and excited my 2 gals will be seeing all their favorite Disney characters. Sherilyn my princess wannabe will go crazy when she sees Snow White and Princess.  I’ll bet they’ll come home with a bag full of Disney goodies.

My Princess Wannabe

Daddy brought Alycia and Sherilyn to Mid Valley yesterday to shop for black hair clips and hair net for Alycia who has to have her hair tied up into a bun for her ballet trial exam today. As expected, my princess wannabe got her daddy to buy her a princess tiara hairband, which she put on her head immediately.

Sherilyn enjoying her lunch at the Lemon Garden Coffee House @ Shangri La yesterday. She kept badgering me for ice-cream and I got her 1/2 a scoop of chocolate ice-cream on a cone. She also badgered me for durian when she saw me eating durian in the evening. I made a mistake and relented. I should have stood firm and said no as she was having a cough and has just recovered from a strep throat. She kept coughing until she puked at 12am, luckily I managed to pull her up from bed into a sitting position and grabbed her ‘vomit bucket’ on time.

My princess wannabe now tells me that she wants to learn violin. When Sherilyn saw her 6-year old little aunty playing the violin the other day, she has been pestering me non-stop to get her a violin and said she wants to learn how to play the violin too. I’ll bet she’ll pester me to send her for piano classes too if she saw her friend playing the piano.

Sherilyn My Earnest Ballerina

On Friday, as Alycia and Sherilyn were waiting for daddy to pick them up for their ballet class, koo mah from Hong Kong (my sils from NZ and HK are here for a holiday) asked Sherilyn to ‘perform’ what she has learned in ballet school. Without any hesitation, my Miss Show-Off gladly showed off her stuff like this one:

She also danced a ‘butterfly’ dance round the living room which I must say was done very gracefully and everyone clapped.

Alycia will be sitting for her ballet exam soon, where there will be examiners arriving from the UK. On Monday, there will be a trial exam in a hall in Selayang. I have even learnt how to tie a bun for her…. from her classmate’s mum. We will have to get some black clips and hair net for her today since her hair is not long enough to tie a bun neatly.

Baby C Tries To Walk

First she tries to talk, then she tries to walk. My Baby C will turn 11 months on Monday next week and I can see her developing new skills everyday – her speech, her intellectual and physical skills. Today Baby C tried to say ‘bah’ when I said ‘take bath’ and she said ‘pah’ when I said ‘paper’. She’s also saying ‘cheh cheh’ all the time, especially when she sees her 2 doting cheh chehs.  Also calling me ‘mah mah’ when she wants me to carry her or wants milkie.

For the past few days, Baby C could also stand up unaided and tried walking a few steps on the floor. When she’s in her playpen, she will walk and even attempt to run round and round the playpen…. and she looks so very cute doing it.

And she still prefers to crawl when placed on the floor and she can crawl real swiftly too.  Baby C is everyone’s pet now for she is just such a cutie.  BTW, her operation date is put on hold until we obtain further information from a couple of pediatric nephrologists in London.
