Can you believe it, it’s already 2009! My celebration to usher in 2008 1 year ago seems like it was only yesterday and now, I’ve ushered in another brand new year.
So how did you celebrate New Year’s Eve yesterday? We had a sumptuous dinner consisting of a roast turkey, roast lamb, roast beef, chicken chop, spaghetti, salads, cakes, Haegan Dazs ice cream and champagne at my home. We invited some friends over for dinner.
I was a tad disappointed that there was no spectacular fireworks or laser lights display at the KL Towers and KLCC… coz we could have a perfect view of it from our condo. We waited all night for that but to our disappointment, there was only some small-time fireworks at the KLCC area and the fireworks weren’t high enough to be seen in the sky. However, we could see some great fireworks display near the Hilton Sentral and Le Meridien Hotel area from the 5th floor of our condo unit. That lasted for about 15-20 minutes.
On the right – roast turkey, roast beef and garlic buns…
Chicken chop, mushroom sauce, spaghetti bolognaise, mixed veggie, roast beef and lamb…
Just before midnight, there was a cake cutting ceremony for the kids and we sang “Happy New Year To Us” (to the tune of Happy Birthday). That was a green tea red bean cake from RT Pastry House, my all-time favorite bakery.
The kids played and played and played like there was no tomorrow. Though Alycia and Sherilyn didn’t take their nap in the afternoon, their batteries were at the peak when they were having fun. All of us only went to bed at around 1:30am.
This morning, I got up at 7am and my maid was still snoring away and I had to wake her up again. Baby C woke up with me and I couldn’t go out to jog or to the gym again. So I placed her in the playpen and I jogged inside my house. Luckily my 1,500+ square feet unit is spacious enough for me to jog freely inside and I managed to jog for 20 minutes (including 5 minutes of jogging and carrying Baby C when she fussed non stop) and had a good sweat out.
There’s lots of leftover food in our fridge and today we will be eating spaghetti for lunch and chicken chop for dinner.
I wish everyone a very happy and prosperous new year and may all of us be blessed with good health.
On a sidenote, do you double check the dosage of your baby’s medication with your paed after you’ve received the meds from the pharmacy? Check out my health blog to find out what happened to me twice. 2 private hospitals made a gross negligence recently.
