World’s Most Beautiful Pearls

I read somewhere that says that according to the Astrology, the pearl belongs to the Moon and the zodiac sign ‘Cancer’. In the Astrology, the Moon influences human mind a great deal. Pearls pacify passion and mental inconsistency and strengthen the heart. In traditional Chinese medicine, pearls are grinded into fine powder and consumed to treat a wide range of disorders from abdominal diseases to diseases related to the eyes, throat, heart, urine, hydrosol, cough, scarcity of calcium, indigestion, tiredness, physical weakness, diseases pertaining to female sex and general diseases.

Apart from having medicinal value, pearls make very elegant jewelry and they are very versatile too. They can be worn at formal occasions and are the perfect jewelry to be worn by brides and bridesmaids. Pearl jewelry is a beautiful accent to the wedding dress, the sexy dinner dress or the office suit. Pearl jewelry can be worn by women of all ages from the young to the old.

One of the market leaders in the internet pearl industry is PearlsOnly.ca. Crazy Over Lollipops

On her birthday, Alycia asked me what I was going to give her as her birthday pressie. I told her I will give her a hug and a kiss. She then said that she doesn’t want only a hug and a kiss. Then I asked her what she wanted and she said a lollipop! I almost wanted to burst out laughing coz that was such a naive answer. I wished she would want such a cheap birthday gift too when she grows up and not badger me to get her a brand new handphone or a laptop, an expensive watch or a LV handbag. And so lollipop it was that she got for her birthday present, on top of a Mickey & Friends birthday cake and a sugar-laden and chocolate-laden buffet lunch at Shangri-La Hotel, the venue that she picked.

Alycia and Sherilyn choosing their choice of lollipops at Lemon Garden Coffee House @ Shangri-La Hotel. It was the first time they tasted a lollipop coz their health freak mommy wouldn’t allow them to eat too much candies.

After lunch, Alycia got tired and she requested to sit on baby’s stroller. Here, she was pretending to have fallen asleep. Looks like this stroller is now being used more by Baby C’s 2 cheh chehs instead. Baby C prefers to be carried.

I told Alycia and Sherilyn that they cannot finish the entire lollipop in one sitting. After licking for about 5 minutes, I put the lollipop into a lunch box and stored them in the fridge. The next day, they finished the lollipop.   Now, they are badgering me for more candies.  I know it’s extremely hard to say no to my 2 very persistent brats who will keep bugging me.  I would allow them to suck on candies for a few minutes, after which they have to spit it out into a bin and brush their teeth…. and the gals gladly abide to mummy’s request for they are afraid that they would lose their teeth.  I’ve been frightening them all the time that all their teeth will fall out if they eat too much candies, chocolates and biscuits and don’t brush their teeth LOL!

Choosing The Best Diet Pill

A good friend of mine once bought a very expensive brand of diet pill to help her lose the 15kg that she had gained after the birth of her second baby. Whilst the diet pill had helped her shed some of the weight, one of the nasty side effects of the pill is that it caused her lots of flatulence, purging and embarrassing moments. Everyday when she was on the diet pill, she would purge after every meal. Sometimes she could not control herself and would dirty her pants . She got so fed up of the embarrassing moments that she stopped popping the diet pills.

There are hundreds or perhaps thousands of diet pills in the market. Before choosing a diet pill, it is advisable to consult your doctor first. You may also want to read up on some diet pill reviews at bestdietpills-1.com, a website that has information on the best diet pills and diet pills that work. Meanwhile, I’ll leave you here with a couple of YouTube videos on the best way to lose weight. These videos might give you some inspiration to lose weight if you’ve been in your weight-loss journey too.

Alycia’s 5th Birthday

Alycia turned 5 years old yesterday. Our initial plan was to have a pool-side birthday party but daddy has been super busy with his work lately. Daddy asked her to choose a venue to celebrate her birthday and she chosed Lemon Garden @ Shangri-La Hotel. And so Shangri-La Hotel it was that we went to for lunch yesterday. Really ‘sake for’ hor this brat? In fact, this was an eleventh hour plan as daddy’s work schedule has been filled to the brim lately. However, he still took the whole of yesterday off to spend time with his precious baby who celebrated her 5th birthday. He would do anything to make his 3 princesses happy.

Alycia’s 1.5kg Mickey & Friends birthday cake (chocolate indulgence flavor) from Secret Recipe. This is a new flavor from Secret Recipe and I kind of like it as it wasn’t very ‘lau’ and it tasted very much like a Tiramasu cake.

We had pasar malam food for dinner, well, more of a supper as Alycia had ballet class and only came back at around 8:30pm.   We were also still feeling really full after the buffet lunch at Shangri-La Hotel in the afternoon.

Daddy wanted to buy KFC and Pizza Hut but since it was a pasar malam day yesterday, I suggested to him that pasar malam food would be good since we had only invited 4 people (hubby’s uncle, his wife, hubby’s 6 year old cousin and Aly & Sher’s former babysitter) over to our home for the party.

The gals had a whale of a time yesterday.  Daddy also bought them lollipops from Shangri-La Hotel, some stickers from the pasar malam and the gals played with their little aunty like there was no tomorrow.  By 11ish pm, they were really knocked out.  They turned crabby and refuse to take their shower.  That was another battle for me and another story to tell…. which I had told in my other blog yesterday.

Do hop over to my other blog to see our pix taken at Shangri-La Hotel yesterday.

Online Degree

We are back in Ipoh now. The 2-hour taxi ride went smoothly. Alycia and Sherilyn were really noisy in the car. They were singing away, squabbled a while with each other and they kept asking ‘Mr Taxi Driver’ tons of questions. Thankfully the taxi driver in his 50s is a very patient and nice guy. He kept chit chatting with me throughout the journey home. He has 3 kids and his eldest son is pursuing a degree online from one of those online universities like Capella University.
Capella University is an accredited, fully online university with students from all over the world. Capella currently offers 111 graduate and undergraduate specializations and 15 certificate programs. For more information, please click on the link provided above.

Sending Sherilyn To Day Care?

I was just telling my mum that I really can’t cope with 3 kids.  I am putting up a white flag!   Baby C is taking up too much of my time. In fact, most of my time is spent caring for her – feeding her meds, supplements, preparing her meals and feeding her, nursing her, collecting her pee to be sent to the lab for test, washing her bum as the diaper area has to be kept almost sterile all the time, endless hospital trips to see our doctors, etc.  I feel extremely bad and guilty that I am unable to spend more time with Alycia and Sherilyn.  Consequently, they are bored to the core, especially during the school holidays and Sherilyn has been up to mischief and rebel most of the time.  I am constantly yelling at her over the slightest things and it’s really bad for her and for me.  I even dragged her out of the house for a few seconds the other day when she kept testing my patience and kept rebelling against me.  Even after being dragged out of the house, she was still not remorseful and kept saying nasty things to me. I feel really guilty and bad thinking of what I had been saying and doing to her.

I get crabby easily lately.  I feel there’s just too much for me to shoulder – a high-need, high-maintenance baby with Kidney Reflux who doesn’t seem to get better and 2 toddlers who are constantly challenging me mentally and physically.  Right now, I am very tempted to send Sherilyn to day care.   Perhaps this little social butterfly will be happier at day care with so many friends to play with and activities lined up for her.  Moreover, the teachers can discipline her.  I can stop yelling at her and absence will also make the heart grow fonder.  My mum is supportive of my decision as she knows I need the space to stay sane.   What do you all think?

Finally Back On Her Feet On The Floor

Before, during and after the move from our old home to our new home, I had kept Baby C away from the floor as everyone was busy packing and unpacking. The floor was also dirty and dusty both at our old and new home. Now that we are a tad settled down, I have started to put Baby C on the floor again and oh my, she was just so, so, so happy after being confined in her crib and playpen for a month!

There will be no fussing and crying when she’s on the floor crawling and playing.   She can play on her own for at least an hour whilst on the floor but I will have to put aside everything and watch her like a hawk, just in case she pulls herself up and fall flat on her back again, just like what happened a month ago… which sent us to the A&E of the hospital and gave us all a big scare!

The happy and content look.

Yummy And Easy To Cook Mac And Cheese

One of the food that Alycia and Sherilyn will never get fed up with is mac and cheese. And just like the song sang by Barney and Friends on mac and cheese, they can have macaroni, macaroni, mac and cheese everyday, 3 times daily! Their favorite is the one by San Remo.  It contains no added MSG and it’s really easy to cook.

All I have to add are some fresh milk or milk powder, butter  and dump the whole packet into 2 glasses of water in a pan, keep stirring for 10 minutes and voila, this is what I get :

…. a creamy and cheesy bowl of mac and cheese.  I can even add a slice or two of Kraft singles cheese or some mozarella cheese to it to make it more cheesy.

I cooked this for the gals yesterday. I added some pan-fried salmon fish and mixed veggie (all left over from the night before) to the mac and cheese and they wolfed down their bowl of mac and cheese in a jiffy.  No bribes and coercing on Sherilyn to eat her meal….. no need 2-3 hours to finish her meal painfully and no need screaming and threatening her with the cane too.

Our Sunday Evening

Last evening, daddy brought us all to Mid Valley Megamall for dinner and shopping as he had wanted to shop for some groceries for his function. I had a craving for salad and grilled chicken as I was feeling full and didn’t want a heavy dinner. So daddy brought us to Tony Roma…. and this is what we had :

My Chicken Pesto salad which was really tasty and I whacked the entire bowl. Also gave some to my maid.

Turkey ham pasta for Alycia and Sherilyn.

Hubby ordered a grilled salmon which I had forgotten to snap a pic as I was too busy pecking on his salmon and brocolli 🙂

The dessert tasted heavenly. The ice cream on a slice of warm chocolate brownie was oh so so so so delicious. I can whack the whole darn thing myself but then again, when I looked at my ugly jelly belly, I tried hard to resist my temptation. Only took a few sinful bites… aahhh, felt better than an orgasm hahaha!!

Ice cream on the house for the gals.

Whilst we ate, Baby C sat on her stroller with a baby carrot in hand. But that only managed to last for a mere 10 minutes, after which she fussed and my maid had to carry her. After I had eaten, my maid passed her back to me and she ate her dinner.

Alycia enjoying herself by slurping chilled water using 2 straws.

After dinner, we went grocery shopping at Jaya Jusco until the supermarket closed. We reached home at way past 11pm. Sherilyn who did not nap in the afternoon knocked off in the car and had to be pushed in baby’s stroller to be brought up to our unit.

Sher’s battery finally went dead after an entire day of non-stop jumping up and down, playing and challenging mummy physically and mentally.
