Alycia’s 5th Birthday

Alycia turned 5 years old yesterday. Our initial plan was to have a pool-side birthday party but daddy has been super busy with his work lately. Daddy asked her to choose a venue to celebrate her birthday and she chosed Lemon Garden @ Shangri-La Hotel. And so Shangri-La Hotel it was that we went to for lunch yesterday. Really ‘sake for’ hor this brat? In fact, this was an eleventh hour plan as daddy’s work schedule has been filled to the brim lately. However, he still took the whole of yesterday off to spend time with his precious baby who celebrated her 5th birthday. He would do anything to make his 3 princesses happy.

Alycia’s 1.5kg Mickey & Friends birthday cake (chocolate indulgence flavor) from Secret Recipe. This is a new flavor from Secret Recipe and I kind of like it as it wasn’t very ‘lau’ and it tasted very much like a Tiramasu cake.

We had pasar malam food for dinner, well, more of a supper as Alycia had ballet class and only came back at around 8:30pm.   We were also still feeling really full after the buffet lunch at Shangri-La Hotel in the afternoon.

Daddy wanted to buy KFC and Pizza Hut but since it was a pasar malam day yesterday, I suggested to him that pasar malam food would be good since we had only invited 4 people (hubby’s uncle, his wife, hubby’s 6 year old cousin and Aly & Sher’s former babysitter) over to our home for the party.

The gals had a whale of a time yesterday.  Daddy also bought them lollipops from Shangri-La Hotel, some stickers from the pasar malam and the gals played with their little aunty like there was no tomorrow.  By 11ish pm, they were really knocked out.  They turned crabby and refuse to take their shower.  That was another battle for me and another story to tell…. which I had told in my other blog yesterday.

Do hop over to my other blog to see our pix taken at Shangri-La Hotel yesterday.

Online Degree

We are back in Ipoh now. The 2-hour taxi ride went smoothly. Alycia and Sherilyn were really noisy in the car. They were singing away, squabbled a while with each other and they kept asking ‘Mr Taxi Driver’ tons of questions. Thankfully the taxi driver in his 50s is a very patient and nice guy. He kept chit chatting with me throughout the journey home. He has 3 kids and his eldest son is pursuing a degree online from one of those online universities like Capella University.
Capella University is an accredited, fully online university with students from all over the world. Capella currently offers 111 graduate and undergraduate specializations and 15 certificate programs. For more information, please click on the link provided above.
