Dream Vacation

The long holidays are here again. I’ve asked hubby repeatedly if he could bring us back to our hometown for a short break as we have not gone back for over a year. I miss my hometown and the heavenly hawkers’ food. My 2 older gals miss their granny and grandpa too. If hubby could plan his schedule properly, we would be able to go back for a short break next week, keeping my fingers crossed.

It would be really ideal if we could all go to the beach for a vacation this school holidays. My 2 older gals have never been to the beach and I think they will go crazy if we brought them to the beautiful San Diego beach for a beach vacation. Whilst hubby and I could go waterskiing and kayaking, the gals can build sand castles. I have seen the beautiful San Diego rentals by the beach and they are just awesome. These luxury vacation homes can be rented from San Diego Beach Real Estate and I particularly like the ones facing the ocean with a spectacular view of the beautiful beach. San Diego is the perfect destination for a family holiday. Activities are aplenty from sea sports to outdoor activities, sight seeing, shopping and San Diego restaurants that serve a wide selection of sumptuous cuisines are also conveniently located everywhere. I know all of us will surely have a swell time vacationing in San Diego. There I go again, daydreaming again of yet another vacation!

Baby C Removing Her Diapers

About 2 weeks ago, Baby C discovered that she can remove her diapers by pulling the side tapes on her diaper.  I managed to snap her pix whilst she was at it… pulling the tapes off and giving me the cheeky look.

Baby C was ‘discharged’ from the hospital today.  Check out my health blog to read the story.

Holiday Party

Today is only the second day of the long school holidays and my 2 older brats are already starting to get restless. I have been busy spending my days in the hospital with Baby C for the past 5 days and have not been spending much time with my 2 older brats. I am glad Baby C was discharged from the hospital today and we don’t have to make two trips to the hospital everyday for the antibiotics drips. I really feel sorry and bad that my 2 older gals have been neglected. Luckily my mil is around to entertain them but like me, my mil is also extremely busy unpacking her things and cooking for us and can’t do many activities with her 2 grand daughters.

I just can’t wait for all of us to be settled at our new place and have a neat, spick and span home. Things are still scattered at every nook and corner now. When our new home is neatly arranged, we may throw a housewarming party. Alycia’s birthday is also just round the corner, after which it will be Christmas. So our party may just be an all-in-one Holiday Party at the poolside! I am lucky I don’t have to plan the party because my hubby will take charge of everything, being the professional caterer that he is. Otherwise, I think I will need to go to websites like celebrations.com to get some party ideas.

Almost The Whole Day Spent At The Hospital

I spent almost the whole day at the hospital with Baby C and my maid today.  We reached the hospital at 10am for the antibiotics drip.  We were told by the doctor to collect baby’s pee for another urine culture to see if the WBCs have dropped.  That’s because no sensitivity test has been done on  the alternative (safer) antibiotics used to treat baby.  If the WBCs drop, it means that the Proteus bacteria is sensitive to the antibiotics.  If not, baby would have to be given the antibiotics that’s known to cause some adverse side effects, if given on a prolonged basis.  I was worried sick for 2 days.  The initial urine test today showed that the WBCs have dropped from 860 to 6… thank God!

I had to place baby on my lap throughout the drips coz the moment she was placed on the crib, she bawled.

Collecting baby’s pee was extremely difficult today coz baby was very traumatized.  She can now remember the hospital and the nurses. The minute she’s brought to her room or sees the nurses, she would start crying.  Consequently, she didn’t cooperate when it came to collecting her pee.  4 urine bags were used as the stupid bags kept coming off, despite having plasters stuck to her skin.  My maid and I then used the ‘carry and collect pee’ method but was unsuccessful as she kept struggling and crying.    We spent more than 2 hours to collect the urine… two times as the first specimen wasn’t enough.

Check out my health blog to view more pix of baby on drips taken yesterday.

Place To Get The Cheapest Pearl Jewelry

When I was packing my things for the move, I found many things that I had kept and hidden for more than 2 years. One of the items that I found was a genuine pearl necklace with a pair of matching earrings. A relative bought them overseas more than a decade ago and gave them to me as a gift. I am not really a pearl person, though I wore them briefly when I was still employed. Since I hardly wear pearls, I was contemplating giving the pearl necklace and pearl earrings away. When I inspected the pearls, I was surprised that each pearl was still sparkling and they still look very new. I then decided to keep them just in case I need to wear them in future. Pearl jewelry can look very elegant when worn with a sexy sleeveless or off-shouldered dinner dress.

PearlsOnly.ca sells a wide selection of top quality pearls ranging from Canada Pearls to Akoya Pearls, Freshwater Pearls, Tahitian pearls, Golden South Sea Pearls and much more. No matter the type of jewelry that you are looking for, whether it is a pearl necklace or pearl earrings, pearl bracelet, pearl pendant or pearl rings, Pearls Only is the place to go to if you want to save up to 80% off retail price. Besides offering only the finest pearls, Pearls Only provide you with unmatched customer service. Get your loved ones some pearls jewelry this Christmas or for just about any other special occasions from Pearls Only.

Kids Sleep The Darnest Ways

Sherilyn, my little Miss Whiny has been whining lots lately. She whines over every little thing. Not only does she whines, she scolds everyone in the house too. I am finding it really hard to discipline her lately. The other day, she was whining and fussing and refused to take her shower after lunch. After a battle with her, she finally took her shower, albeit crying away throughout the shower. After she got dressed up, she got so tired and sleepy with the whining and crying that she lay on the floor and fell asleep, with her head resting on the mattress…. and her head kept slipping down the floor!

Miss Whiny with her hair still dripping wet and uncombed, fell asleep on the floor.

I then woke her up, quickly blew dry her hair, fixed her a bottle of milk with Milo (her favorite) and put her to nap on her bed.

My Saturday

I was jolted up from my beauty sleep at 5am today by the beeping of my mobile phone. There was an SMS from my blogging pal. She had alerted me that there were opps from an advertising network. I quickly turned on my PC and was pleasantly surprised that someone had already helped me reserve the opps. Since I had a few assignments to dish out for the advertisers, I started to work on my PC. Within an hour, I dished out 5 opps. My mind could function really well and my train of thoughts was not disrupted without my 3 brats disturbing me.

After working on my PC, I changed Baby C’s diaper and nursed her. When I put her back to sleep, she was instead wide awake. My plan to go jogging was again thwarted. So I stayed home and exercised on my fitball. Shortly after, Alycia and Sherilyn woke up. I quickly fixed them milk, made them eat their eggs, made them some fresh orange juice and off we went to the hospital. Baby C has to be given her morning dose of antibiotics through the IV line by 10am.

When I came back from the hospital, I dedicated my entire afternoon unpacking my things. I have several huge boxes of things sitting at the living room and kitchen floor and they were such an eyesore blocking the nice view of our condo. I threw many of my old things as there isn’t enough space to keep them. While I threw many old things, including the old dustbins from our old house, I need to get some new bins for our house, particularly the kitchen. Some stylish one-touch mechanism lid brabantia bins from Move Cookshop would blend in really well with our kitchen. I also need to get a new mirror for my room, an Infinite Circulon non-stick roaster with rack for our new oven and a few other items for my room. It looks like there’s some more shopping to be done for our new home.

Homemade Wholemeal High Fibre Pancakes

When my Streamyx was disconnected for more than a week recently, I had some free time and decided to make pancakes for the gals since it’s been quite some time since I last made pancakes for them.

I used wholemeal high fibre  bread flour sunce there were still 2 packets in the fridge. I also put in 3 eggs, 4 tablespoons of milk powder, some almond strips, sunflower seeds, a dash of salt and some lemon juice. The pancakes turned out very well.

I cut out the pancakes using my My Melody cookie cutter, a fish shape and a bear shape cookie cutter.  Alycia and Sherilyn ate them.

And I ate the odds and ends.

On a side note, Baby C has another UTI attack.  Hop over to my health blog to read the story.

Stroller Accident

Here are the pix :

My grazed elbow. My hands and legs feel sore today, especially my left middle finger….. as though I had just worked out for hours in the gym yesterday.  Today, more blue black patches appeared on my hands and legs.  I look more like a battered wife today!

Today Baby C is a lot better but the injuries on her nose and forehead look redder and more obvious. When I brought her to Alycia and Sher’s pre-school to meet the teachers to collect the report card, all the teachers asked what happened… and I felt so tired explaining to them… how it happened, why it happened, blah blah blah… bleh!

Each time I think of how the accident happened, I shudder coz it really looked terrible and serious…. especially the part where the stroller somersaulted and Baby C landed face down on the hard tar road with the weight of the stroller all on her tiny body.  I thank God again that we only suffered from minor injuries.  It’s a miracle that Baby C’s injuries were very minor.  I will definitely have a phobia of pushing her on the stroller again.

Terrible Accident

Today something unimaginable happened to Baby C and me.  We met with an accident and I really thought that she would be seriously injured but praise the Lord we only suffered minor injuries.

Baby C had woken up very early today. So I strapped her into her new stroller and off we went down the condo to jog. As I went down a ramp, the wheels of the stroller went over a drain cover and the bump caused the wheels to stagger and I lost my balance and fell and because of the speed down the ramp, the stroller somersaulted and I was absolutely horrified, terrified, aghast, whatever you call it to see the stroller with my baby inside lunged forward and she landed face down on the hard tar road! I thought Baby C would be crushed by the entire stroller… the heavy Peg Perego stroller.

I quickly picked myself up and quickly pulled the stroller up and saw blood on Baby C’s nose. I was horrified. I hugged her and comforted her profusely and she was terribly traumatized and cried till she couldn’t breathe. I summoned the help of one of the security guards at the guard house to help me bring the stroller up to my unit. I was quite calm but Baby C was yelling away.  Had it not been the safety belts of the new Peg Perego stroller, the type that goes round both her hands, she could have been more seriously injured. Thank God my hubby gave the old stroller away…. coz the stroller has a missing front barrier and the safety belt is not as safe as the Peg Perego belt.

Long story cut short, Baby C was really traumatized by the accident and even refused to latch on my teat teats when I brought her home.  She refused anyone to touch her nose.  Hubby was worried that there may be internal injuries to her nose.  But my instinct told me that she’s A-ok.  True, after an hour nap, she woke up smiling again.  However, she still didn’t allow anyone to touch her grazed nose.  It hurts my heart deeply to see her having a red nose and a bruised forehead.  She really looks like a battered baby.

As for me, there is quite a deep gash on my right elbow, my left middle finger hurts like hell as it was bent and traumatized during the fall and my left leg is swollen.   But once again, I thank God that both of us were spared from serious injuries.  Today is really one of the worst days of my life…. a nightmare that became a reality!

Pictures of Baby C and me to come later.  My darn 3G wireless internet is farking slow and driving me nuts!

Cassandra @ 7 Months Old

Baby C turned 7 months old on 9 November 2008. She started to cruise 1.5 weeks ago by holding on to the crib railing or the sides of the playpen. I think she will most likely start to walk at 8 months. She has not been able to crawl much lately as we have been very busy packing, moving and now unpacking. It’s really frustrating for her to be confined in her playpen aka her cage but that’s the safest for her as our things are scattered everywhere in the condo and no one is free to watch her crawl.

For the past few days, Baby C discovered that she can remove her diapers when she pulls the side tapes on her diaper. She’s exactly like both her cheh chehs when they were her age as they also found it very amusing to remove diapers.

Yesterday I started feeding her with her first solid. I gave her organic brown rice with some lotus root and lotus root seeds soup. She loved it but I only fed her with 1 tablespoon.
Baby C is still purging but she’s still very active. Both her doctors advised us not to feed her with any medication to stop the purging. It’s best to let her purge all the toxins out of her body. I’ve been feeding her with oral rehydration salt.

Weight wise, I am a tad worried that her weight is not moving much and is just hovering at 6.75kg. But my doctors ain’t too alarmed and said “ok what, you want her to be obese? You are also small size right?” But I still hope she’s a little chubbier and heavier. I am really tempted to supplement her feeding with some formula milk powder.

Sorry, am not able to upload any pix of Baby C as the darn 3G wireless internet is terribly slow and unstable. I could barely work and have lost several opps as a result of it. I would never rent it again.

Still Moving, Unpacking And Arranging Our Things

There were a few more truck loads of our stuff from our old home to our new home today. I could barely do anything but carry Baby C all the time. She has been purging again… till her diaper area is oh so red and sore and each time I wash the area, she’ll be yelling away. I hope it’s not another UTI 🙁

As for me, my sensitive nose and throat are allergic to the new paint and varnish in the new home and I am having sore throat, itchy throat and a runny and stuffy nose.

The darn 3G wireless internet is still moving at snail’s pace and horribly unstable. I feel so frustrated sitting at my PC waiting for the line to be connected. Have just called Streamyx to voice my complaint. Today is the 7th day my Streamyx has been disconnected and as expected, they were not even informed that they have to install Streamyx at my new place, unbelievable!

Anyway, I’ll leave you with some pix of the move taken at my old home.

Plastic boxes of things scattered in the living room floor, waiting to be moved to the new place.

The fridge being moved out of the house.

Our dining area devoid of table and chairs and my 2 brats eating on the floor. They found it fun and said it’s like a picnic!

Finally Got My Internet But…

….the connection sucks BIG time.  As expected, my Streamyx isn’t up yet.  I told yer earlier, TM Net will surely break their promise and as sure as the sun rises in the east, they really can’t deliver their promise of getting my Streamyx up within 3 working days.  Luckily smartie me already had a back-up plan and I have rented a 3G wireless internet modem but this 3G’s signal is soooooooo farking slow and unstable at my condo…. and it’s driving me nuts!  I had gotten 2 opps from one advertising network today but I lost both the opps because my internet connection was darn slow.  I also lost a USD20 opp from Elina all because my internet connection wasn’t up yet, bummer!

Anyway nuff of ranting.  I am really stressed up because Baby C is soooooooo clingy to me and I can hardly do anything.   When I wore her in my sling, she hated it and wanted to be down on the floor.  But how can I unpack my stuff when she’s everywhere on the not-so-clean floor and putting everything that looked so new and amusing to her into her mouth?  So I had to carry her and walk round the house to unpack and arrange my things and put her on my lap as I unpacked my things.   She also couldn’t nap for long as my 2 older monkeys have been screaming and laughing and banging on the doors the whole day… and driving me bonkers.  Sherilyn finds it so amusing to throw things down the condo… and also jumping up and down her new bed with her black feet!  Really kek sei ngor and I have been yelling at her a lot these days.

Ok, I better stop ranting and raving.  I’ve got more serious work to complete.  I’ve several assignments to dish out for the advertisers before they expire.  Will update again…..

Sherilyn My Super Vain Pot

I wonder if there are any other 3.5 year old toddlers who are as vain as Sherilyn, my no. 2. It all started last year when she would insist in choosing her own clothes and panties to wear, all the time. Early this year, she started to have an obsession with hair accessories and rings. On some days, she would choose her own hair clips and demand to wear them to school and to sleep too. When daddy bought her some colorful bangles the other day, she got so hooked on them that she wore them the whole day – to eat, to bathe and to sleep. Two days ago, she even picked a party dress and wore that to school when we went to her school to meet her teacher. I won’t be surprised if this willful child comes telling me that she wants to go to some beauty schools in ohio when she grows up!
