Respite For 2 Days

It was a decision made at the eleventh hour.  My mil and sil from Hong Kong had earlier planned to travel to Ipoh today.  This morning, my mil suggested to me that since it’s the school holidays, she wanted to bring Alycia and Sherilyn back to Ipoh.  I jumped at her suggestion since it’s the school holidays and I know they will be really bored being cooped up at home.  Also, I know it’s going to be tough on me without my mum or mil around to help me with the 3 kids.  So I quickly called my mum to inform her that Aly and Sher will be going back to Ipoh and staying with them. My parents were really excited to hear that their precious grand daughters will be coming finally.  Aly and Sher have not gone back to Ipoh for more than a year.  I then hurriedly fixed them breakfast, bathed them and packed their things into the bag.  The girls were of course elated and excited that they can follow their mah mah and koo mah back to Ipoh and they can finally stay with granny and koong koong.

The house is now so quiet without my 2 boisterous rascals.  It’s really a good respite for me.  I’ve got many things that I’ve wanted to settle but with my 3 kids around, I just couldn’t find the time to do them.  Now, I have 2 days to sort out my things with a peace of mind.  Having said all these, I will surely miss my 2 rascals and worry about them a lot. Well, it’s always good to be separated for a short while.  Absence does make the heart grow fonder.

My Sunday

For the first time in Sherilyn’s life, she will be away from me for 2 whole days. She and Alycia have followed my mil and sil back to Ipoh today and my girls will be staying with my parents. As for Alycia, it’s not her first time being separated from me. When she was 2 months old, I had to leave her in Ipoh with my parents for several months as my babysitter (my mil) had to be in Hong Kong. Though it’s a respite for me that my 2 rambunctious rascals are away from me, I will nonetheless miss them and worry about them. It’s good that they are away for a couple of days. It will be a good way for them to spend their school holidays. Baby C can also get her nap uninterrupted during the day without being jolted up by her 2 boisterous older sisters. I thought I would have much more time to do my work but I was wrong. Baby C wants me to carry her the whole day and when she finally naps, it’s only a forty winks and it literally is a forty minute nap. So I really can’t do much in forty minutes.

After I am done with this post, I have to marinate some pork chops and cook some porridge for the hubs to eat. He’s still having a strep throat. The pork chops will be for me to eat. And when I’m done with the cooking, I have to help my friend whose computer is down get some information about JFK Airport Shuttle from the internet as she will be going to New York for a holiday next week. She told me something about GO Airlink Shuttle and I’m supposed to help her print out the information. It’s been a dull Sunday for me without my 2 rascals around and now, I’m beginning to miss them! How was your Sunday?
