Life Is Crazy

Life is crazy.  I am working my brain and fingers at full steam now.  I have 18 outstanding assignments to complete in 2 days and Streamyx is still not re-connected yet.  I will surely have to reject some of the offers as I can only afford to steal 2 hours a day to go to my hubby’s office to work…. and bringing Baby C along with me.  Baby C is also not cooperating as she is crying incessantly.  I think she does not like hubby’s office.  As I am typing this post, I am cradling her with my left hand and nursing her.  What to do, I need the money!

Internet Down

I am sooooooo darn pissed off with Telekom.   After 4 looooooooong, agonizing days of without internet connection, my Streamyx is still NOT up yet…. thanks to our efficient Telekom.   For the last 4 days, I have been calling Telekom every 3 hours to check on the status of my case and each time I called, I got the same answer.   I tell you, I am just so pissed off with them.

Anyway, long story cut short coz I am running out of time as I am stealing 2 hours to work at my hubby’s office now….. with Baby C with me now.

 to be continued….

Hoover Dam In Las Vegas

For those of you who are planning your Las Vegas vacations, apart from the casinos and spectacular night life, there are many other places of interest and attractions to visit. One of the many attractions is the Hoover Dam which harnesses the Colorado River in the Black Canyon. The Hoover Dam was opened in 1936 and it is a national historic landmark. This dam, which is the largest in Nevada draws a million visitors each year and the view is magnificent. Lake Mead, the reservoir created by the dam is ranked as one of the country’s busiest national parks and is a great destination for aquatic recreation.

Baby C’s Eczema Flared Up Face

See how blemished and red the eczema has caused my poor baby’s face.  The eczema is so bad that her cheeks feel rough and I bet it must be painful too.  She also has mild cradle cap on her scalp and eye brows.  I removed the cradle cap from her eye brows by rubbing the brows with baby oil on a cotton wool.  As for the cradle cap / dandruff on her scalp, I am confident it will resolve by itself without any treatment as this happened to both Alycia and Sherilyn too when they were infants.

Hubby and I brought Baby C to the paed’s office yesterday.   The dr. prescribed her with Aqueus (spelling?) moisturizer, Betamethasone cream to get rid of the eczema (this is a potent cream and can only be applied thinly for 5 days) and Hydrocortisone (another cream for eczema which is not so strong and is to be applied if the eczema flares up again).

While I was waiting for my turn to see the dr, there were some aun-tees who were waiting outside the clinic.  They came over to see Baby C and commented how cute she is and they also commented that Baby C looks like a boy.  Oh well, I am quite blase about it coz almost everyone who saw her commented that she looks like a boy!   Anyway, these aun-tees gave me advices on using the natural way and non-medication way to treat the eczema.  Some recommended putting ‘sui fun’ (bits of fragrant rice powder made of fermented rice and screwpine leaves), Hazeline Snow cream and chilled overnight tea leaves on the affected part of the skin.  In the past, I had tried the ‘sui fun’ and Hazeline Snow cream for both Alycia and Sherilyn but nothing worked.  Over time, the eczema resolved by itself, though Alycia still has very mild eczema on her hands now.  I haven’t tried the overnight tea leaves yet but another aun-tee there told me not to apply this as some tea leaves may be bleached with brown coloring.  It’s really entertaining to hear all these aun-tees giving me all sorts of advises.

Anyway, Baby C’s cheeks are not so red and blemished today.  Hopefully it will be completely healed and will not flare up again.

Baby C who sweats easily loves wearing ‘hole-ly’ clothes as they are airy, cooling and comfy. Though they don’t look very nice, they are life-savers during the hot season. I hardly put on onesies on her anymore as the material is thick and causes more heat rash on her body. Even our paed recommends ‘hole-ly’ clothes for babies with heat rash.

My Monday

I expected this to happen.   Telekom has yet to call my hubby to sign the contract for the change of name for our fixed phone line, thus I can still access Streamyx.  I wonder when they will call.

Anyway, this morning, hubby brought Sherilyn to the dentist as her gum is a tad swollen and bleeding.  It appears that her molar tooth is sprouting out on her right gum.  The dentist prescribed her with some antibiotics for the swelling.  In the afternoon, we brought Baby C to the paed as the rashes on her face have become real bad.  The paed said she’s got eczema.  I was really upset to hear this coz eczema is linked to asthma and sinus problems and both Alycia and Sherilyn had eczema when they were infant.  Now, they are very prone to sinus problems, have sensitive nose and sensitive throat.  I hope Baby C will be spared from all these problems.  Anyway, the paed prescribed Baby C with a moisturizer and 2 types of cream to get rid of the eczema (shall get the name of the moisturizer and cream tomorrow).

Baby C has been sleeping the whole day today.  She even slept through during the consultation with the paed.  I bet she will be wide awake tonight and wants to suckle my teats the whole night….. which means no sleep for me tonight!

Baby C is crying again.  It’s time for her milky session now.

to be continued tomorrow with pix………

Disney World In Orlando Is Still The Best

My sil in Hong Kong has been inviting us to travel to Hong Kong to visit her. She has even offered to give us a treat to Disneyland in Hong Kong. I must say Alycia and Sherilyn are really lucky to have such a good aunt who is ever willing to shower them with gifts. However, my friends who had been to the Disneyland in Hong Kong commented that this Disneyland is really small and is not as impressive as the Disney World in Orlando. So if I ever have a chance to visit Disney World, I would get some discount Disney World tickets from Orlando Fun Tickets and choose the one in Orlando.

Blog Break

I will be unable to blog for 1-3 days from today.  That’s because hubby has applied for the name for our fixed phone line to be changed from his sister to his name.  And our Streamyx connection has to be disconnected to facilitate the change in name.  Can you beat that?  I just don’t understand why our government departments are always so inefficient.  They just don’t realize that the broadband disconnection for 3 days will bring about so much inconvenience to people like me who work from home. Maybe I should ask them to compensate me for my loss of income for 3 days.   I just don’t understand why on earth Telekom needs 1-3 working days to get this done.  It’s ok if the disconnection is for several hours but 1-3 days is to the extreme!  I will surely have blogging withdrawal symptoms for these few days of not being able to go online.  But maybe it’s a good time for me to rest and spend some time with my 3 gals.

Baby C Only Wants Mummy’s Teats

I got so exhausted letting Baby C suckle my teats the whole day and night that I decided to give her the pacifier 2 days ago but know what?  When her lips touched the pacifier, she furrowed her eyebrows, then used her tongue to push out the pacifier and gave me an expression that said “this is not your teat teat mummy”.

I left the pacifier next to her and when she cried, I put the pacifier to her lips and the same thing happened…. she pushed the pacifier out with her tongue.

No baby, this is not mummy’s teats!

In the end, I gave up and pacified her instantaneously with my teats.  Looks like I am going to have very sore teats for the next few months or years…. but it’s ok…. mummy will do anything for you Cassie dear!

Cassandra’s Fullmoon Party

We celebrated Baby C’s fullmoon on Thursday, 8th May, i.e. 1 day earlier so that koo koo (youngest sil) is able to attend as she had to fly back to Saipan the following day.

We had buffet dinner (maki, sushi, chicken curry, beef rendang, turmeric rice, fried rice, stir-fried mixed vege, tartlets, red eggs with pickled ginger, ang koo, cakes), satay and a whole roast lamb.

You like the setting of the buffet dinner?  Some of you would have already known by now that hubby runs a catering company.  So if anyone of you is interested to have catering done at home or in your office, do give my hubby, Alan a call at 019-266 4297.  The name of his catering company is Catermate.

Sounds like a paid post eh?  Nope, it’s not…. I’m just killing 2 birds with 1 stone 🙂

Get The Queen Gem For The Gem Of Your Life

Ask any woman what she loves and she will tell you that she loves gems and jewelries.  Some love diamonds whilst others love pearls, the ‘queen gem’ that represents purity, happiness and success.  A pearl necklace is a timeless piece and can never go out of fashion.  It is indeed a classic jewelry and is an ideal gift to express one’s love. Pearl necklaces are an excellent addition to any clothes worn by a woman, whether it is an office suit, a dress or an evening gown.  Pearl is also the anniversary stone for the 1st, 12th and 30th years of marriage.

The history of pearls is interesting. According to an Arab legend, pearls began to exist when dew drops containing light from the moon fell into the sea and were swallowed by oysters.  Some people who believe in gemstone therapy believe that wearing pearl necklace can protect them from negative wavelengths while some let their young children wear pearl necklace for protection.  Others believe that wearing pearl necklace is a form of therapeutic quality.

Did you know that pearls do not only come in white color? There are also black pearls and pink pearls. The perfect place to shop for your genuine pearl jewelry and accessories is at pearl-necklace-jewelry.com.  Whether you are looking for a pink pearl necklace, an Akoya pearl necklace, freshwater pearl necklace or a black pearl necklace in single or double strand, you can be rest assured that all the pearls sold at pearl-necklace-jewelry.com are guaranteed 100% genuine and are appraised by an IGI Graduate Gemologist. Every pearl is hand-picked and hand-knotted with care. That is what makes their pearls unique.

So if you are lost for ideas on what to get for the woman whom you love for mother’s day, her birthday, your wedding anniversary or just about any occasion, get her a genuine pearl necklace and it’s unlikely that you will go wrong with that elegant gift. This queen gem is truly the perfect gift for the gem of your life.

Blinds That Liven Up A Place

Roller window shades

Choosing the right custom window treatments or blinds can really liven and lighten up a place. I remember working at an office that was facing a golf course and a lake with tastefully designed interior and furniture. Some of the things that impressed many of our clients were of course the view of our office and the roller window shades on the windows. The roller window shades were something new back then and most of our guests had not seen them before, including me when I first saw them. Being the PA to the big boss, I often proudly rolled up the window shades for his guests to enjoy the view from our office.

If you are looking for some good quality and unique blinds for your home or office, there’s no other place to shop for them than at ShadesShuttersBlinds.com, a company that has been selling blinds for over 10 years. They carry a wide selection of blinds ranging from roller shades, arches, pleated shades, cheap mini blinds, micro blinds, shade fabric, sheer shades, Roman shades, Cellular (honeycomb) shades and much more. One plus point that makes Shades Shutters Blinds stand out from the rest of the blinds companies is that they make their blinds from scratch, which allows them to provide outstanding lifetime warranties on their superior high quality blinds.  Do check out their website and you will really be impressed with their range of pretty shades.

CL’S GONE AND I AM SO BUSY

My confinement lady’s finally gone back today.  While I can finally breathe a sigh of relief that she’s gone, I have been really busy, so busy with Baby C who is super cranky today that I hardly have time to do anything else.  She has been crying and whining the whole day and I’ve been nursing her and letting her suckle my teats like a pacifier the whole day. She also wants to be carried and talked to.

As I am typing this post with my right hand, my left hand is carrying Baby C and she is crying away.  I know exactly what she wants, ie. she wants to go to my air-conditioned room to escape the horrendous heat from downstairs and to suckle mummy’s teats to sleep. I have tried leaving her in the crib and let her cry it out but she just wont stop crying. I have been carrying Baby C so much and running around so much handling my 3 kids that my wound is hurting.

I tried giving Baby C the pacifier today but she spat it out. I am really  exhausted caring for 2 toddlers and 1 newborn baby and today is only the first day I have to care for 3 kids myself without the help of a CL.  I cant imagine how the subsequent days will be like. I can only pray that Baby C will be an easy baby and that Sherilyn will be more obedient and stop being demanding.

Baby C Doesn’t Want Formula Anymore

After successfully breastfeeding Baby C exclusively for 3 days in a row, she does not want formula today.  I had nursed her at around 8am today.  At 9:15am, she was whining away, not really crying but the sort of whine that is asking for my teats.  I was having breakfast and I asked my confinement lady to give her 1 ounce of Enfalac A+ formula.   I was really exhausted from nursing her the whole night and did not get much sleep.  But Baby C just didn’t want the formula.   She spat out the formula and closed her lips tight.  I felt so sorry for her, hurriedly finished my breakfast and nursed her.

The moment I picked Baby C up from her crib, she was smiling to me….. aawww… my heart melted.  When I put her near my boobs, she turned her head ‘professionally’ towards her favorite spot (just at the correct angle) and ravenously suckled for 10 minutes.  Then she poo pooed and I cleaned her up.

Miami Heat Tickets

Have you ever watched a basketball match live? For someone who has no interest in basketball, for once I had interest in the game when hubby brought me to watch a basketball match at an indoor basketball court played by his group of basketball friends who were once national basketball players. It’s such a huge difference watching the players in action live as compared to watching them play on TV. That’s the reason why scores of basketball fans often rush to buy the Miami Heat tickets, though the tickets can be quite costly. Watching a live basketball match can be very addictive, especially if you are a fan of the game.

Cassandra 28 Days Old

Today Baby C is 28 days old. Tomorrow, daddy will be throwing a fullmoon party at home. The weather has been horrendously hot lately, so hot that my CL dressed Baby C in a singlet today…. and I could see that she looked so comfy wearing it.  Baby C sweats easily and she even sweats in the air-cond room in the middle of the night when I nursed her….. with her in her long rompers.

Baby C was smiling here at Sherilyn and my maid.

Some bloggers have commented that Baby C always turns to her right. Well, it’s because I’m standing there (on her right) to take a good snapshot of her. I do adjust the position of her head throughout the day and she doesn’t sleep at one position all the time, otherwise her head will be senget (slanting).

It’s Going To End Soon

One and a half more days…. that’s the remaining number of days I have to tolerate my confinement lady. I can’t believe I survived almost 1 month tolerating that old lady with a queer behavior and an expression of a fierce matron hanging on her face the whole day and night and someone who has absolutely no sense of hygiene in handling newborn babies. Today, as she was in a haste to carry Baby C who was crying, guess where she wiped her hands that she had just washed? She wiped it on one of Baby C’s vest which was left in the crib!  Last night, she even left a used cotton with poop in a container on Baby C’s crib!  The longer this old lady stays with me, the longer my depression and stress will last. Sometimes I get so stressed up that it really affects my milk supply. In times like this, I wish I could inhale the rich scent of the organic Blue Lotus Absolute oil from www.iamshaman.com to get some peace and ease of mind to release the stress from my body and mind.
