My Skin Is Dry And Peeling

The skin on my tummy, waist and arms are super duper dry and the flaky skin is peeling off like a newborn baby’s dry skin.  It gets so bad and obvious that Sherilyn just can’t stay her hands away from helping me peel off the skin and  she keeps asking me why my skin is peeling off LOL!   Each time after my shower, I smother my body with a palm full of baby oil but it doesn’t seem to help at all.  I’ve even stopped using my bath loofah and have even used body shampoo like Dove with extra moisturizers but that don’t seem to help too.  Maybe I should consider using soap-free body shampoos like Eubos and Seba Med.  Does anyone have this problem too?

A Spice-Up In Our Marriage

I told hubby the other day that we really need to do something to spice up our marriage.   After the kids came along, the spark of romance seemed to have dwindled and our lives have just been centered on our 2 high-demand girls.   After reading a book by the famous Singaporean sex guru, I am really tempted to go on a all-inclusive adult holiday in Mexico and book a  Riviera Maya Resort at the Riviera Maya located on the Mexican Carribean coast.   There are many resorts located at Riviera Maya and one resort that I’m interested in is the Hidden Beach Resort located at a secluded place that caters to adults only who desire luxury and comfort.  Guests at this resort have the luxury and liberty to sunbathe and swim in nude on the beach!   Amenities, facilities and food at the resort are one of the finest.  I bet my man and I can uncover that lost romance and spark in us again during this one-of-a-kind all-inclusive luxurious holiday in Mexico.

Tagging Along To The Gynae’s Again

Sherilyn really loves tagging along to the gynae’s office.  When we were there on Wednesday,  she was happily munching away the fried egg sandwich that I made her and smiling away cheekily to other patients.

Once, she  followed us into the Ultrasound Scan room and saw the dr. put the probe into my ‘under’ to perform a transvagina ultrasound scan.  When she stepped out of the doctor’s room, she announced loudly to my maid that “mummy took out her pants for doctor to see her phet phet!”    Do you bring your child with you  to the ultrasound scan room too during your visit to the gynae?

My Craving Was Satisfied

Remember I had posted earlier that one night as I was having my shower, I had this sudden crave for banana muffins?  Well I told my hubby about it and the next morning, he got me some banana muffins and a green tea and red bean chiffon cake from our favorite bakery.  Boy, it felt really good to be finally eating something that you’ve been craving for the whole night long.  Heavenly bliss!

Zipangu Japanese Restaurant

We had dinner at Zipangu Japanese Restaurant at Shangri La Hotel last week as it was sil’s last night with us before she flew back to HK.  Overall, the food was good but we were not too pleased with the expensive Wagyu beef which was tasteless.  Alycia and Sherilyn had cawan mushi, Edamame beans, California roll and some rice with Teriyaki chicken.  I had teriyaki beef which tasted much better than the Wagyu beef and the price was very much cheaper than the Wagyu beef too.   I was just so tempted to eat the assortment of sushi but got to refrain from them for at least another 6 months.   The black sesame and green tea ice-cream was very tasty.

Notice a change of clothing in Sherilyn?  Well, that day was exceptional.  She had 2 pee accidents in a day – once during brunch at Imbi Palace and once during dinner at Zipangu.  Her body must have been out of sync that particular day.

Streamyx Sucks

Internet connetion has been very unstable for the past 2 days.  A few bloggers and I were unable to get into the sites of 3P, Blogitive and PU2B for 2 days.  We thought we were  suspended and locked out by these advertisers coz bloggers from other areas in the Klang Valley and East Malaysia were able to log in to these sites.  When I called Streamyx,  I was given the same unacceptable answer and help.  I find that even after 1 full day of Streamyx being down at certain areas, the Help Desk officers are still unaware and not notified of the problem.  Instead, they give useless advice and step-by-step instructions to change the settings in our PC or delete certain files and cookis which had once caused my PC to go haywire.  Streamyx sucks don’t they?   Chin Nee was telling me maybe we should switch to Maxis or other providers.

Can’t Sleep

We had dinner with my elder brother and his family at a chinese restaurant in Chulan Square this evening and I had some very diluted chinese tea.  Now, I’m feeling wide awake and just can’t seem to fall asleep.  Or is it because I’ve been working too hard for the past few days trying to recover my lost posts and meeting deadlines, so much so that my brain can’t seem to stop functioning and knock off?  Whatever it is, I have to hit the sack now and try to sleep.  Nite nite.

Funky Skins For Gizmos and Gadgets

My Christmas shopping list is still expanding by the day. I now have 15 people on my list which include my family members, hubby’s family and relatives and our friends. I have already written what I intend to buy for these people. I’m always at a loss when it comes to shopping gifts for hubby’s cousins who are in their late teens. I really don’t know what teenagers like these days.  What I used to like may not be what these kids like now. Perhaps I should get them some Xbox skins, PDA skins or laptop skins that I’ve seen at Skinit.com the other day. These unique colorful  skins for gizmos and gadgets are rather new in the market and they protect devices like mobile phones, calculators, laptops, PDAs, Xboxes and gaming devices from getting scratched whilst adding style and funkiness to the device.  Even I like them and I bet those kids would love to be seen  holding their PDA or Xbox with a funky Skinit skin on it.

Herbal Egg

This is my favorite kind of egg – ‘char tan’ or herbal egg.  I normally buy them from the Eu Yan Sang chinese medicine hall near my house.  I also love to drink the herbal soup that’s used to boil the egg. At only 60 sen per egg, it’s a cheap and nutricious food. I normally buy 2 – one for me and one for my maid. When I order ‘phat chan’ or ‘8 types of herbs’ soup from the shop, I also give half to my maid.   My maid is one lucky maid.

Happy Deepavali Holidays

My eldest brother, his wife and in-laws from Singapore are here in KL for the Deepavali holidays.  He came this morning to pass me the money that I’d transferred from my Paypal account to his Singapore bank account.  Tonight, we’ll be having dinner at Imbi Palace again.

To all those celebrating Deepavali, here’s wishing you ‘happy Deepavali’ and to the rest, have a great holiday.

Lap Band Surgery To Combat Obesity

I have an aunt who loves to eat and leads a sedentary lifestyle.  She has a job that’s desk-bound, she works late every night, has late dinners and never exercises.  She’s overweight and her doctor has given her the red-flag on her weight and her health.  She has to loose at least ¼ of her body weight, else she risks facing many health problems ranging from diabetes to heart attack and a stroke.  Since she has an appetite that’s ravenous and insatiable, I think she really needs a houston lap band surgery to help her loose some weight.  During the surgery, an inflatable adjustable gastric band through small laparoscopic incisions is positioned around the upper portion of the patient’s stomach.  Lap band will allow a person to feel full and satisfied when the stomach pouch is reduced in size. I should advise my aunty to read up more about this procedure at JourneyLite.com.

Post Amniocentesis – Day 2

Just got back from my gynae’s office.  He did an ultrasound scan and told me that everything looks fine.  There is no built-up of amniotic fluid outside the sac and there is no bleeding around the area that was poked.  Baby’s right kidney still looks dilated. If the Amnio test shows that the baby has normal chromosomes, then, he’ll just have to monitor the kidney closely.  Hopefully the dilation will resolve by itself.

Black Chicken Soup

This is my usual ‘poa pun’  (nutricious stuff in Cantonese) during my pregnancy – black chicken soup with snow fungus, wolfberries and red dates. Black chicken is known to be more nutricious than regular chicken.

During my previous pregnancies, my mil or my former maids would chop and crush the black chicken into pieces before putting the chicken into a special double boiler with holes to make chicken essence.  Since this is so tedious and time consuming, I’m only boiling the chicken in a crockpot now.  I would boil this soup and share this soup with my 2 gals at least twice a week.

Environmental Friendly Soy Candles

I am a big supporter of environmental-friendly and non-toxic products. I try to buy bio-degradable aerosols and I’ve even stopped using my aromatherapy candles that are made of petroleum based waxed. It’s hard to find non-toxic and bio-degradable candles here and there’s only one website that I know of that sells them.

Caterpillars Candles is an online store that sells natural soy candles  that are hand-crafted with all natural cotton and paper wicks coated in premium vegetable wax. The candles are made from biodegradable, FDA certified organic soy bean wax. These scented pretty candles that last three times longer than petroleum-based candles produce virtually no black soot and they produce scent throughout and not just scented on top. The candles are only hand-made when you make an order and there is an assortment of scents for you to choose from ranging from lavender to jasmine and vanilla, heavenly chocolate, sandalwood, American apple pie and much more.

Christmas is just less than 2 months away and if you’re lost for gift ideas, these natural custom soy candles make perfect Christmas gifts. If you run a gift shop, you can also get your wholesale soy candles from Caterpillars Candles to add to your line of gifts and souvenirs.
