When I purchased a new desktop computer last week, the vendor did not install any antivirus software to the computer. Hubby’s friend who is a computer specialist told us that we can download free antivirus software from the internet. However, I always feel skeptical about downloading freeware from the internet. My Christmas Wish

What do you really wish for this Christmas? For me, apart from wishing to safely deliver a healthy and perfect baby, I’d love to get a pair of Astley Clarke diamond heart earrings in 14ct white gold. I’ve not bought myself any jewellery for years and the only white gold diamond earring I have is the one given to me by my mum for my wedding. I wear it all the time to practically all the functions and I’d really love to have another pair of diamond earrings to wear to my friend’s grand wedding dinner next month.

What I really love about Astley Clarke’s collection of silver jewellery and gold jewellery is that the designs are all unique and aesthetic. They also have a wide array of stunning glittering diamonds and gemstones. I simply love browsing Astley Clarke’s website to look at their range of classy and tastefully designed jewellery but once I start clicking on their website, I just can’t seem to get myself away from the computer for I’ll be glued to their website drooling over their jewellery!

Our Sunday

Daddy has to work in the afternoon, so after church today, we didn’t eat out. Was invited by Darrius’ mum (RamblingMoo) to attend Darrius’ 2nd birthday party but unfortunately, couldn’t go as we only have 1 car at home and daddy has to use it.

So daddy packed some of my favorite hawkers’ food from Paramount Garden in PJ and we all ate at home. We had the famous yong tau foo, chee cheong fun with prawn paste, prawn vermicelli, wantan noodles, egg tarts and some nyonya kuih. Sometimes, I prefer eating hawkers food at the comforts of my own house than to feast on buffets in hotels. It’s quite torturous to have buffets as all the food always seem so tempting and I’d always want to try a bit of everything on the spread only to suffer in silence after feasting on the food.

Alycia My Discerning Diner

Alycia who loves nothing more than food has lately shown very keen interest in mastering the fork and knife and chopsticks. We were at PJ Hilton last Sunday for lunch and she insisted that she wanted to use the fork and knife to cut her sausage, just like we adults. When Sherilyn saw, she also followed suit without any hesitation. Alycia has always been an easy feeder and most times now, I don’t have to feed her meals as she prefers to eat on her own. She even told me that she wants to attend the cooking class at her pre-school during the school holidays. I may consider sending her to the class but it’s really costly at RM150 for 5 days @ 2 hours each session. I think she will end up being a chef in future! Well, it’s in her blood and it runs in the family!

Battery-Operated Toothbrush

Finally got a battery-operated toothbrush for Alycia and Sherilyn and they simply adore their new gizmo. It’s been 5 days since I got them this and they have never been so interested and enthusiastic in brushing their teeth the whole day. Now, Alycia does not puke anymore when I brush her teeth in the morning. Instead, she is grining from cheek to cheek throughout the teeth-brushing session.

Hubby had wanted to buy them an Oral B battery-operated toothbrush but it costs RM100 each and I told him it’s not necessary to buy such expensive tool for a toddler! Let them try a cheaper one first and if they like it, we can change to Oral B next time as the brush head is replaceable. This Colgate one only costs RM29.90 but the brush head is not replaceable. So once the brush head is worn out, we will have to discard the whole toothbrush.

Technology really does wonders and kids really need some cool toys to keep them motivated and interested in doing something that they hate!

Amniocentesis Results

The day finally came when the results for my Amnio test were out. I had called the gynae’s office in the morning but was told that it’s not out yet. Later in the afternoon, the nurse called to inform me that it’s finally out, 4 days early. As it was pouring heavily with thunder and lightning, I couldn’t hear her clearly on my cellphone. When she repeated the second time, I was really overjoyed to hear that everything is normal. As to the gender of the baby…… I am sure everyone is eager to know yah? Is it a boy or a girl? Not telling just yet.

Ok, I’ll stop pulling everyone’s legs, I’m going to have another princess! Though my gynae had told me earlier that it’s a boy, it turned out to be a girl! The little dicky bird that I had seen on the screen had vanished! I swear I saw it but looks like it could have been the umbilical cord maybe? As I had mentioned earlier, it really doesn’t matter to me whether the baby is a girl or a boy. What matters most is that the baby is healthy and perfect. Well, I am still not 100% convinced with just a phone call. I still have to see the results myself to believe that my baby is ok. I’m scheduled to see my gynae on Wednesday next week but I’m going to call to have an earlier appointment.

Sunday School

One of the things that motivate Alycia and Sherilyn to drag themselves up from bed early on a Sunday morning is getting stickers from their Sunday School teachers apart from doing art and craft, coloring and singing.

At the end of the Sunday School class, all the kids will queue up to get stickers from the teachers. Alycia and Sherilyn will always ask for more than one sticker and the teachers never fail to accommodate their whims.

Food Review – Gu Yue Tien Chinese Cuisine

When my brother, his wife and family from Singapore were here during the Deepavali holiday last week, we had dinner at Gu Yue Tien Chinese Cuisine at Chulan Square. This restaurant serves fusion food and the food were very good – tasty and presentation was very good too. We didn’t try the fusion food but we could see from other tables that they looked good.

Apart from the dishes as shown here, we also ordered double boiled pigs’ stomach soup with lots of pepper (very tasty) and double boiled black bean soup with chicken (very tasty).

For dessert, we ordered a deep fried lai sar tong yuen with black sesame paste as filling, double boiled almond milk with suet kap (frog’s intestines) and a bitter gourd & honey dew pudding which was very refreshing though a tad bitter. We were all very satisfied with the food and will definitely return to this restaurant. The next time round we will try their dim sum.

My Fresh Milk Stock

That’s how much fresh milk I drink for 1.5 weeks – 4 boxes of my favorite Marigold HL milk – plain and banana flavor. Despite having aversion to certain food, luckily I still love milk during my pregnancy, all 3 of them. When I was carrying Alycia and didn’t have appetite to eat anything, I was practically surviving only on fresh milk and soups.

Forgetful Mum

I was rushing away to meet my deadlines this morning till I had forgotten to put Alycia’s lunch box into her school bag. I had prepared peanut butter-strawberry jam-butter and cheese toast for her and had cut it nicely into triangular wedges and placed them into her lunch box. I then left the lunchbox on the table and went upstairs to wake the gals up. When I came down, I was busy preparing Aly – brushing her teeth, putting on her clothes and putting on a bandaid on her toe that’s hurt and had totally forgetten to put the lunchbox into her bag. Guess who reminded me? It was when daddy had brought Alycia to school and Sher saw the lunchbox on the table and said “mummy, cheh cheh forgot to bring this”. Quickly called daddy to bring the lunchbox to Alycia. Sherilyn is so alert and observant!

I Need Something ‘Yun’

When I had a chanced meeting with Alycia and Sher’s former babysitter yesterday, she was taken aback to see me ‘dried and withered’ with cracked lips and peeling skin on my arms. She advised me to double boil something ‘yun’ to drink and suggested pears or apples double boiled with snow fungus and wolfberries. She told me that she drinks this concoction twice a week to cool down and nourish her body. I’ve given instructions to my maid to boil this concoction today and it’s been years since I last drank this wonderful tasting ‘poa pun’.

Rush Rush Rush

I had woken up late this morning at 6:15am. Quickly rushed downstairs, turn on my computer and went to the website of this network. I have 4 opps expiring in 45 minutes and I know there’s no way I could complete them. Managed to complete 3 opps and when I had finished the last one, I was able to submit the task in the nick of time where I had less than 1 minute before it expired. After clicking on the submit tab, I saw the red word ‘expire’ appear on the 4th task. Phew, what a rush, really felt like I was competing in a race or something and came in second in place, LOL! Quite chee kek to get involved in this kind of rush and race sometimes, the pump of adrenalin through my body is really chee kek!
