One of the features I absolutely love about Google Photos is its ability to pop up memories from years gone by. It’s like a little nudge from the past, inviting me to reminisce and walk down memory lane.
A few days ago, Google Photos surprised me with a photo of Alycia hugging her favorite Ultraman toys when she was just 5 years old. It brought back such warm and tender memories of her childhood. Today, it showed me photos from our family trip to New Zealand 11 years ago. Time truly flies—sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday that we were on holiday in Auckland, creating unforgettable memories together.
During that trip, we picked blueberries, visited Hobbiton, and even hiked up a volcanic hill. One of my favorite moments was captured in the photo below, featuring Sherilyn and Cass. We were at Puhoi Valley for brunch, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. It was summer in New Zealand, but the weather was still quite chilly on most days, which added to the charm of the experience.
Our time in Auckland was nothing short of amazing. And now, looking at those photos, I’m reminded of how much my girls have grown. Fast forward 11 years, Sherilyn is now about to celebrate her 20th birthday in two weeks and is in her second year of university. Meanwhile, Cass is turning 17 in less than three months and gearing up for the most important exam of her high school journey, the SPM.
Time passes by so quickly, and before I know it, my three girls will be stepping into the working world. While part of me feels nostalgic about their growing up, another part of me is excited for what’s to come. I’m looking forward to the day when my responsibilities as a mother are almost complete, and I can finally explore the world without a care. Until then, I’ll keep cherishing these precious moments and the beautiful memories that I store in Google Photos.
